HALF-FULL REPORT 07/17/15

Torshavn, Faroe Islands. I had to take a break from the relentless criminal insanity engulfing America. We call TTP “The Oasis for Rational Conservatives,” so I went in search of an Oasis of Sanity. I found it here. Let me tell you what it’s like before we have to sink into the week’s miasma.

The Faroes are a semi-independent autonomously-governed territory of Denmark’s half-way between Norway and Iceland north of Scotland:

The islands are very old, bits and pieces of a series of massive basalt lava flows between 60 and 50 million years ago as the tectonic plates of Greenland and Europe separated, creating the North Atlantic Ocean. The result is utterly stunning geography and scenery – so much so that National Geographic currently lists the Faroes as the #1 Best Place to visit in the world for 2015.

If you Google the pictures of the Faroes, you’ll see why.

For me, however, the geology and scenery is just the backdrop – it’s the people, the Faroese, that makes this place so special. They have created the Wisest Country in the World.

People have been settling here from Scandinavia, Ireland, and northern Britain for some 1,600 years – and today, virtually all 50,000 Faroese are of the same ethnic stock. With a literal handful of exceptions, all are Christian – with some 85% Evangelical Lutheran, and the remaining 15% other Christian denominations. Needless to say, there are no mosques in the Faroes.

There is no safer country on earth. No one locks their home, their car, or anything else. Children play anywhere anytime – 20 hours of daylight in the summer – with no problem whatever. Drugs are limited to a minimal use of weed. Traditional marriage is the norm, divorce rare, abortion even rarer, the Faroese have the highest fertility rate in Europe (2.38). Homosexual “marriage” is looked upon as a tasteless form of social lunacy – it doesn’t exist here.

The schools are excellent. People are educated and smart. Most everyone lives in modern middle class homes with well-tended gardens – no McMansions and no poverty. No beggars, no homeless, no refugees from alien shores. The roads and infrastructure are very good, everything works, everything is clean and spotless, there’s no pollution whatever, there’s no purer water or clearer air anywhere.

What’s not to like? The weather. Sunny cloudless days are treasured. It’s cloudy at least half the time in the summer, temps in the 50s & 60s, dark in the winter – 5 hours of daylight – temps in the 30s & 40s.

On the other hand, there are no summers with suffocating humidity, and no winters with sub-freezing cold. It snows so little there’s no place to ski. The Gulf Stream ends up here and keeps the climate temperately mild.

What impresses me most about the Faroese is how they think with the minds, not with their emotions. There’s neither Teutonic rigidity nor Mediterranean carelessness. They’re neither loudly boisterous nor quietly withdrawn. What’s fascinating is how they do everything with a relaxed efficiency. Everything gets done well, but there’s no rush, no uptightness – instead they make it look easy doing it.

They’re friendly and love to laugh and sing, but on serious issues – say, whether the Faroes should be fully independent like Iceland or stay an autonomous Danish territory – they’ll calmly discuss the issue from both sides, no matter what side they are on.

That’s inspiring – especially contrasted with America (much less, say, Greece), where everyone seems to be in a perpetual state of anger or angst. The Faroese are intensely proud of their country, their heritage, their culture, their language (albeit that almost everyone speaks English along with Faroese), and their self-governing autonomy.

The Faroes, for example, are not a member of the EU like Denmark. They have direct political relations and commercial treaties with a number of countries. They govern themselves internally while Denmark handles defense and certain limited external affairs. The debate on full vs. semi independence goes on, but it is a measured, deliberative one conducted with respect for other views.

How extraordinarily refreshing it would be if America had the wisdom of the Faroes. But then, the Democrats and the Left would have to stop being Fascists, and there’s zero chance of that.

OK, time to step into the mire.

The most disgusting news is that Planned Parenthood, America’s Number One Abortion Mill, harvests the organs of partial birth aborted babies and sells them for profit.

On Tuesday (7/14), the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) released an undercover video exposing the depravity. Here it is:

CBS is now reporting that CMP will be releasing more videos. We always knew Planned Parenthood was an apotheosis of murderous evil, but now we know they’re on a moral level with Nazis. And of course, it’s being defended by Democrats like Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) and Barbara Lee (D-CA). Par for the DemFascist course.

I am really getting sick and tired of this Marxist Pope. He has no more understanding of economics than he does of science. The IBD sent him an instructive Memo to Pope Francis: Free Market Capitalism is the Miracle Cure for Poverty. It’ll go in one ear and out the other, for evidently there’s nothing in between.

The most lethally dangerous news of the week is Zero’s agreement to let Iran have nuclear weapons. That’s not the way the Lying Swine are framing it, but that’s what happened on Tuesday (7/14). Jack Kelly wraps it up by asking, Does Obama Want Iran to Have the Bomb? The terrifying answer is: Yes, he does. That’s how much he hates himself, hates America, hates Israel, and hates Western Civilization.

More details on this agreement were released today (7/17), and as Charles Krauthammer observes, it’s Worse Than We Could Have Imagined. He says the entire process is “farcical.” In reality, it’s much more. It is traitorous.

Enough of wallowing in the mire. There’s got to be some good news around here somewhere.

Well, a Nobel Laureate in Physics, Dr. Ivar Giaever, declared that Obama is “dead wrong” on global warming. He ridiculed Zero for saying “No challenge poses a greater threat to future generations than climate change,” calling this a “ridiculous statement.” There’s been no global warming for the past 17 years, he pointed out, which all Warmist models failed to predict. Warmism has thus ceased being science, and has become a “new religion” instead.

In contrast to faux-science Warmist models, real science has come out with a new model that predicts solar cycles with unprecedented accuracy. And it’s bad news for Warmists (and the world in general unfortunately): that the Earth will enter another Little Ice Age by 2030. We better start cranking up production of CO2 like crazy now. We’re going to need all the global warming we can get our hands on.

Dinesh D’Souza nailed Zero with exact precision in describing him not as a “community organizer” but as a “resentment organizer” who uses “the politics of envy” to achieve power.

Obama, just like so many Democrats, knows that the path to power is, he said, to “can tap into the vicious hordes of human resentment, envy, the most powerful of human motives and the most secretive.”

Dinesh spoke at the FreedomFest in Vegas, and he couldn’t possibly be more correct. Hope is audience was paying close attention.

(Note: the Daily Mail reporter who wrote the story certainly wasn’t. Dinesh wasn’t comparing Zero to Othello – he was comparing him to Iago.)

This has got to be the Hahahaha! moment of the week – the totally wonderful news that The Russian Air Force Is Falling Out of the Sky.

All those intimidation flights into US and NATO airspace have resulted in Putin’s planes crashing and burning. As the report says: “Russia’s attempt to demonstrate strength has backfired spectacularly and demonstrated weakness instead.” Very cool.

The most heartwarming news of the week: The Christian owners of Sweet Cakes by Melissa, Aaron and Melissa Klein who have been persecuted by the Fascist State of Oregon – fining them $135,000 for the “mental rape” of two lesbians by refusing to bake a wedding cake for them – have raised an astounding $355,000 on the Christian funding website Continue To Give in the last two weeks.

If that doesn’t give you hope for America, I don’t know what else could. Aaron and Melissa Klein are the HFR Heroes of the Week.

Honorable Hero Mention of the Week must go to Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal. Yesterday (7/16), a 24-year old Moslem radicalized by ISIS, Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez, murdered four Marines in random cold blood in Chattanooga. Jindal wasted no time in denouncing the obvious – that it was an act of Moslem Terrorism, and that Zero did not have the courage nor the desire to do what it takes to stop such hideousness.

Jindal’s statement:

“We must pursue justice on (the murdered Marines’) behalf and stop at nothing to hunt down and kill these evildoers abroad before more of them come here to kill our people.

This shooting underscores the grave reality of the threat posed to us by Radical Islamic terrorism every single day.  It’s time for the White House to wake up and tell the truth…and the truth is that Radical Islam is at war with us, and we must start by being honest about that.

There have been many bad things that have happened under President Obama. One that stands out to me was the horrible shooting at Ft. Hood…which was clearly an act of terrorism by a Radical Islamist. Yet the White House labeled that horrible act as ‘workplace violence.’

This is grotesque.  You cannot defeat evil until you admit that it exists.”

Jindal says it’s time for Zero to wake up and tell the truth. It’s also time for the American people to wake up and admit the truth – that Zero is not defeating the evil of Radical Islam because he has no desire to.

Look at the pictures of these four innocent Marines murdered by a Moslem crazie. Do you think Zero feels any heart-rending gut-wrenching sorrow for these young men? Does he feel any soul-wrenching guilt for doing so little to protect Americans like them from Moslem terrorism? I think the answer is… No.
