HALF-FULL REPORT 10/17/14

Lots of uplifting news this week, but first a trio of questions.  Are you a big fan of Eric Holder?  No?  Well, how would you like an Eric Holder on steroids?  No again?   Lastly, why is Sarah Palin answering Yes! to these questions instead?

Because that’s precisely what she is doing in Louisiana.

Zero intends to nominate Tom Perez, a racist fascist far worse than Holder for AG, should the Pubs fail to win the Senate.  And that’s just for starters.  Harry Reid running the Senate for the next two years will allow Zero to run completely amok.

Yet Sarah, rather than telling the Louisiana Spoiler – Rob Maness – to stand up like a man for his country and bow out, has doubled down on her support for him.  This is ludicrously mistaken and here’s why.

Louisiana has a jungle election on Nov. 4 – anyone can run and unless one of them gets over 50% there’s a runoff.  The latest polls (Wednesday Oct. 15) by Rasmussen show Pub Congressman Bill Cassidy ahead of Dem incumbent Mary Landrieu 52-43, winning with no runoff.  But when Maness is added, it’s Landrieu 41, Cassidy 38, Maness 14.

With 17 days before Election Day there is simply no way Maness – who is unknown to Louisianans except the Tea Party folks – can overtake Cassidy.  The Maness campaign is almost broke, while Cassidy is well-funded (e.g., by medical doctors all over the US as Cassidy is a physician opposed to Zerocare).

Maness can only be a spoiler, can only prevent Cassidy from winning outright – as the Daily Caller explains.  Further, Maness dropping out virtually guarantees a Cassidy win on Nov 4, as over 57% of Maness supporters would vote for him.

I have begged Sarah to tell Maness to do the right thing, but she’s gone ga-ga on him.  If she forces a runoff in Louisiana, and the Pubs take only 5 seats on Nov 4, should Landrieu win that runoff – which would be impossibly vicious by the Dems – then Sarah would be responsible for losing the Senate to Harry Reid.  She will no longer be admired but despised, and deservingly so.

Elsewhere, things are looking pretty good.  This week has seen an amazing number of October Surprises – all of which have screwed Zero and the Dems.  Bad Karma has finally caught up with them.

*In Texas, hero-to-baby-killers Wendy Davis drove her gubernatorial campaign straight off a cliff with her wheelchair attack ad on Greg Abbott.  After a deluge of disgust, she doubled-down with her ridicule.  Abbott was already ahead by 14 points before Wendy’s hara-kiri ads.  Wendy gives the term "politics of personal destruction" a new meaning.

*In Kentucky, Dem dimwit Alison Grimes’ campaign to unseat Mitch McConnell is so off the rails that the Dems have withdrawn their funding for her.  Even the WaPo is laughing at her for refusing to say if she voted for Obama, while The Left is denouncing her attack ads on McConnell.  The Dem Party has poured $2 million right down the Grimes drain in Kentucky.  No wonder they’ve now thrown in the towel.

*In South Dakota, political weirdo Larry Pressler, a Republican Senator from 1979-1997, is now running as an Independent trying to prevent Pub (and popular former governor) Mike Rounds from winning.  Crazy Larry just announced that, if elected, he’d "be a friend of Obama’s in the Senate."  Looks like Larry will split the vote between him and the Dem candidate, life-long professional bureaucrat Rick Weiland, instead of Rounds.

To prevent that,  Weiland’s oppo-research disclosed on Monday (10/13) that Pressler recently sat on the board of a brokerage firm, Sky Capital, that defrauded investors of $140 million.  Goodnight Larry.

*In Arkansas, James O’Keefe and his spy camera strikes again, catching Dem Senator Mark Pryor’s "gay caucus" leader admitting Pryor is lying about opposing "gay marriage" – which is very unpopular in Arkansas.  This on top of Pryor flubbing a question on Zero and Ebola so badly that even the lefties on MSNBC couldn’t stand it.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday (10/14), Pub Tom Cotton blew Pryor away in his TV debate with him.

*In Colorado, Dem incumbent Mark Udall has run a campaign against Pub Cory Gardner so Johnny-One-Note on "women’s issues" that the even the libs at the Denver Post are laughing at him as "Mark Uterus."

Ereyesterday evening (10/15), a libtard website called Deadspin had Dems in a frisson of excitement over the claim that Gardner lied about playing football in high school (this is how desperate the Dems have become).  The hit piece fell apart in less than 24 hours, as Gardner and his coaches proved he wasn’t lying at all.  Now Cory is surging even farther ahead in the polls.

*In Iowa, Dem senate candidate Bruce Braley is on the Veterans Affairs Committee in Congress – and has skipped over 75% of VA committee hearings to attend such things as fundraisers instead.  That’s a big deal in Iowa – and it comes on top of his suing his neighbor over her four pet chickens.  And that is on top of his infamous gaffe sneering at Pub Senator Chuck Grassley for being "a farmer with no law degree" – in Iowa.

No wonder Iowans call Braley "Congressman Jerk" – and that his marvelous challenger, Pub Joni Ernst is ahead in the polls.

*In Arizona, Dem gubernatorial candidate Fred DuVal took the gaffe cake of the week – make that of the year.  On Tuesday (10/14) in a public forum held in a Gilbert, Arizona church, he actually said that 14-year old girls should be allowed to get abortions with no parental consent.  What an OMG moment of depravity.  Pub Doug Ducey will now win in a walk.

Yet all of that is merely the tip of the Bad News Iceberg for the Dems this week.  Beneath that tip is the massive unpopularity of Zero.  After the unending series of scandals – any one of which the Enemedia would have made sure ruined a Republican presidency – the combo of illegal alien invasion, ISIS beheadings of Americans, and Ebola have catalyzed all the growing disgust for Zero and frozen it solid.

Three weeks before Nov 4 (10/15), 71% of Pubs, 61% of Indies, and even 48% of Dems say the world is "going to hell in a handbasket"  — and blaming it primarily on Zero.

The libs at the Capitol Hill paper The Hill moaned, "Where Did It Go Wrong for Obama?"  So sad.

Yesterday (10/16), even the lefties at the New York Daily News couldn’t handle it anymore with this front page:

o_get_a_grip.png

The Los Angeles Times condemned Zero’s "Ebola Crisis of Confidence" – but the collapse of public confidence in the Zero Presidency extends far beyond his jaw-dropping incompetence regarding Ebola.  Here’s just one reason why the collapse is pervasive:

DHS Reports 167,000 Convicted Criminal Immigrants Currently At Large Across US.  After conviction, they’ve just been released, not jailed nor deported.

When you put the entire revolting mess of the Zero years together, and then tie a ribbon around it when Zero says yesterday (10/16) that it’s more effective to let Africans with Ebola into the U.S. than it would be to keep them out – well, that just tears it.

Millions of folks would now agree with Donald Trump’s conviction, expressed yesterday that there is "something mentally wrong with Obama."

The most fun read of the week you’ll find is in the libtard magazine The New Republic:  What The Next Two Awful Years Will Look Like.

It lists "five things to fear" with a Pub House & Senate.  Without dear sweet Harry Reid those horrible catastrophes are: Gutting Dodd-Frank;  Forcing Zero to approve the Keystone pipeline;  Slashing Obamacare;  and Refusing to confirm liberal judges.  Dreams come true!  The 5th, by the way, is a silly claim that Pubs will want to "continue" Zero’s snooping on everyone by the NSA.

What we should worry about is What the Next Two Awful Years Would Look Like if we fail to kick Harry Reid out.  Even with all the good news above, the Pubs having a net gain of six senate seats is far from a done deal.  Right now, RCP’s aggregate polls show 45D-45R and 10 tossups.

The Pubs cannot afford to lose both Kansas and Georgia.  They will gain West Virginia, Wyoming, and South Dakota for sure, very likely Alaska and Arkansas.  But no matter how well Cory Gardner is doing, Dem cheating in Colorado is baked in the cake as John Fund explains.  Dem incumbents in both New Hampshire and North Carolina are now more likely to win than lose.

So where does that 6th win come from?  Either Iowa – where Joni Ernst is still only a few points ahead – or Louisiana where Palin’s perversity may prevent victory.  Bear in mind that that 6th win in the above count depends on not losing either Kansas nor Georgia.

So this is still a nailbiter with little more than two weeks to go.  The October Surprises have been all going our way, but that can reverse in a heartbeat.  2+ weeks can be an eternity in political time.

One starkly obvious bottom line is that the Next Two Awful Years of Harry Reid will be what any conservative, libertarian, or Teapartyer will be voting for by staying home or not voting Republican on election day with the excuse that the Pub is not sufficiently ideologically pure.

We’re going to end on this sobering note.  This is no time to go Platonic.  We live in an imperfect world with imperfect choices.  We have been given the chance to begin turning our country around on Nov 4.  Let’s do all we can to realize that chance.

One thing you can do especially is to reach out in every forum possible and beg Sarah to ask Maness to bow out for the good of his country – to beg Maness to be a Marine and take one for America.  Sarah is a wonderfully heroic patriot.  We all make mistakes and the one she’s making in Louisiana is a doozy.

It does not matter whether Maness is more Tea Party Pure than Cassidy.  It does not matter, particularly since Cassidy is only less fire-breathing conservative than Maness and no Rino.  All that matters is that Landrieu lose her seat and Reid loses the Senate.

Please do what you can to get Sarah and Maness – both admirably decent patriots – to see the mistake they are making, a mistake that could have horrific consequences for our fate as a nation.
