Who’s the Prankster now?

Zero issued his first set of "punitive sanctions" against the Kremlin on Monday (3/17).  They were so wimpy the liberal New York Daily News called him "Putin’s Patsy" – denouncing him as "hapless, helpless and hopeless in facing down Russian strongman Vladimir Putin’s annexation of Crimea."

The banner headline on Drudge was Russia Laughs at Obama ‘Sanctions’ – Calls Him ‘Prankster’. 

Yesterday (3/20), Zero issued his second set of sanctions.  Nobody is laughing in the Kremlin today.  That’s because they are for real, targeting Putin’s Inner Circle – the guys who hold Putin’s "personal purse strings."  Right in tandem yesterday, Merkel and the EU announced they were placing asset freezes on these same guys. 

As the HFR has been predicting for the last two weeks, the strategy is to bankrupt Putin personally, seize his stash of billions.  That is now underway.

And the Russkie response?  I can’t resist adjusting Fox’s headline:  Tiny Tits for Tat.  The US and the EU are seizing his billions, and Pooty-Poot strikes back by saying Harry Reid and John Boehner et al are forbidden to travel to Russia. Wow… take that, three lashes with a wet noodle.  Putin’s the one being laughed at now.  "Guess this means my spring break in Siberia is off," quipped John McCain.

It can’t be emphasized enough – as stated in the HFR last week, Russia’s economy is built on sand.  The way to kick Putin in the cojones is economically.  That’s what’s happening.  As my friend Ambrose Evans-Pritchard tells me:

"Putin has grossly misjudged how vulnerable Russia really is to an economic showdown with the G7. Fresh investment in Russia will collapse. Europe will seek to liberate itself from Russian oil and gas supplies as fast as possible.  Putin will run to China to bail him out, but the Chinese will extract pounds of Russia’s flesh.  It’s very hard to see how Putin’s Russia will avoid long-term ruin."

And the short term?  Putin will next target the Baltics:  Estonia in particular.  That’s why Estonian President Toomas Ilves is in Warsaw this week strengthening his NATO alliance with Poland.  "The era of peace (with Russia) is over," he said.  "We in NATO must focus again on our common defense."

Ambrose is warning that "We are already in a New Cold War with Russia.  The last 20 years have been merely a truce." 

Georgetown Professor Anders Aslund, who specializes in the economies of Russia and Eastern Europe, warns:  "Russia can no longer be perceived as a status-quo power. Rather it has become a radical revisionist and revanchist state. All Western policy must be revised accordingly."  

Aslund was stunned by Putin’s speech to the Russian Duma on Tuesday (3/19) justifying the seizure of Crimea by force, because there are twelve parallels between Putin’s foreign policy and Adolf Hitler’s.

It is with very good reason Ukrainians, Poles, Estonians, and many others are now referring to the Thug in the Kremlin as "Putler."  The quicker he is bankrupted the better.

Zero is showing some spine with Russia because Putin has made him an object of ridicule.  Elsewhere, however, he is resolutely pursuing his Anti-American goals.

Yesterday (3/20), he sent a Nowruz message to the people of Iran – Nowruz being the Persian New Year (the Spring Equinox).  Believe it or not, he congratulated them for "electing" their current mullah tyrant "with your strong support."  The vast majority of Iranians hate the mullahs’ guts and are bitterly aware of how "elections" in Iran are totally rigged.  It’s hard to imagine a more deeply insulting message from the American president than this.

Last week (3/12), the White House announced it was refusing to deliver 10 Apache combat helicopters to Egypt needed for counterterrorism, because Zero is on the side of the Moslem Brotherhood terrorists.  This week (3/19), the Israeli government pleaded with Zero to release the helicopters to the Egyptian military.

Yesterday (3/20), the Jerusalem Post reported that Egypt’s leader, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, is making a deal with Putin’s Russia for the weapons needed to defeat the terrorists in the Sinai.

All in a day’s work for our Pro-Moslem Brotherhood President.

While our useless media has been engaged in a futile frenzy over an airplane that will never be found – MH370 is at the bottom of the Southern Indian Ocean – a truly frightening act of the Zero Administration occurred last Friday (3/14).  That’s the cavalier announcement out of the blue that the US is giving up control of the Internet.

Which means that the Internet will be controlled by the UN, China, and Russia.  No wonder the UN’s Ban Ki-moon thinks this is a wonderful idea.

I spoke to the owner of one of the biggest global computer security companies in the world about this.  Here’s what he says:

"It would be catastrophic if the US allowed the UN or any other foreign entity to have control of the Internet through ICANN….period.  In the absence of leadership here in the US, it was almost a given that other countries would attempt to seize control of the Internet protocols.  We went from the shining example of success of freedom and capitalism to the mealy-mouthed, equivocating, untrustworthy eavesdropper in the world’s eyes.  Welcome to Chicagoland politics."

With any luck, this latest and deadly example of Zero’s Anti-American masochism will be blocked before it takes effect in September 2015.

OK – let’s get to the good news of the week.

In Saratoga Springs, New York on Sunday (3/16), members of two 2^nd Amendment advocacy groups, New York Revolution and NY2A Grassroots Coalition, held a protest against a state gun control law called the NY SAFE Act (New York Secure Firearms and Ammunition Enforcement).

NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo proudly proclaimed it’s the "toughest gun control act in America."  Among its many provisions is a requirement for all owners of "assault weapons" to register their ownership with the state by this coming April 15.

At the Saratoga Springs event, gun owners publicly burned a thousand gun registration forms to ashes.  One of their leaders, Jake Palmateer, explained that he and countless thousands of New York gun owners are refusing to obey the law because "the evidence is clear that registration leads to confiscation."

He further explained that less than 3,000 weapons have been registered, while there are at least several hundred thousand and possibly 1.2 million "assault weapons" in the state.

To which the HFR can only say YES!!!  The mass refusal to obey unconstitutional fascist laws is the way to get back our birthright of freedom as Americans.  Which is why the organizers of and participants in the Saratoga Springs forms-to-ashes event are the HFR Heroes of the Week.

There is a Hero Judge this week.  The only way Democrats can win many elections – including that of Zero in 2012 – is through massive voter fraud.  Which is why Holder Justice is so fanatically trying to make any state’s Voter ID law illegal.  Two such states are Kansas and Arizona.

In their case, Holder Justice used the Election Assistance Commission (EAC), the agency which maintains the federal voter registration form, to deny requests from the states to add the proof-of-citizenship requirements to state-specific instructions on the form.  Both states sued.

And lo and behold, on Wednesday (3/19), US Federal District Court Judge Eric Melgren found that:

"The decision of the EAC denying the states’ requests to be unlawful and in excess of its statutory authority. … Therefore, the Court orders the EAC, or the EAC’s acting executive director, to add the language requested by Arizona and Kansas to the state-specific instructions on the federal mail voter registration form, effective immediately."

This is a huge victory for Voter ID and proof-of-citizenship voting, a major blow to Dem voter fraud.  Congratulations to Federal Judge Melgren.  The Dems are besides themselves in fury.

Bela Pelosi held a news conference yesterday (3/20) to commemorate the 4th anniversary of the passage of Obamacare.  Almost no one came. Twitchy has photos.

That was embarrassing. But the NRCC offers 6 reasons why she’d have been better off if nobody had showed up for her "hour-long gaffe fest."

What’s priceless is watching her scold a reporter for calling Obamacare "Obamacare." It’s the Affordable Care Act, she said over and over and over.

Which is the one thing it isn’t.  Health insurance premiums this year are 39 percent higher for individual policies, 56 percent higher for family policies, according to this survey.

The Obamacare-induced increases in premiums this year is greater than the premium increases for the last 8 years combined.  But it’s a pittance compared to what Obamacare has in store for us in 2015.

When a reporter asked Pelosi about the premium hikes, she stalked away from the podium without responding.

For the HFR’s money, the best news of the week was provided by John Boehner.

We all know that the name of the Dems’ game is to make as many people as possible dependent on government welfare.  And we all think that the Pubs are too cowardly to prevent it, as if they do they’ll be crucified by the Enemedia as heartless, mean, and cruel.

One of the latest ways to create more dependency is to have economic policies that purposefully create unemployment, then make people dependent on unemployment checks. 

The Pubs kept getting browbeaten by the Dems into extending the limit, originally at 26 weeks, all the way up to 99 weeks – almost two years.  The Dems’ intention, of course, was to make unemployment benefits permanent, creating a permanent block of dependent Dem voters.

At the end of last year, the House Pubs balked and refused to enact another extension.  That had happened before, but it was always renewed retroactively.  Everyone expected Boehner to cave right about now.  Some 2 million workers who have been unemployed for two years no longer are getting their checks.  Another 1.6 million will stop getting them over the next few months.

Thus on Wednesday, every Dem in DC was stunned to learn that Boehner announced he wasn’t caving.  Shocked, CBS ran the incomprehensible (to them) headline:  John Boehner Nixes Unemployment Extension.  Boehner has killed a program vital to the Dem Dependency Strategy – and on purpose.  He knows just what’s he doing.  Best news of the week.

We close with the funniest news of the week.  It was provided yesterday by the airheads on the NBC Today show, who wondered in total puzzlement over why Zero was left off Fortune magazine’s list of the 50 greatest world leaders.  How could their messiah possibly be "excluded" from the list?

Fortune subsequently sent them an explanation:

"President Obama wasn’t excluded from Fortune’s World’s 50 Greatest Leaders list. He simply didn’t make this year’s list of 50 outstanding individuals who have demonstrated rare leadership, leadership in multiple areas or who have demonstrated a long history of leading."

Now that’s funny.  And oh so true.
