HALF-FULL REPORT 12/06/13

Christmas is less than three weeks away, and the HFR is here with the solution for what presents to get for your friends and loved ones.

What could be better than 50% off on a Gift Yearly Subscription to To The Point?  Yes, from now until New Year’s (01/01) you can give anyone you know the enlightenment of To The Point for an entire year at half-off.  How can you beat that?  You’ll be thanked for it every week from now to next December.

And, if you want something gift-wrapped under the Christmas Tree, give them a copy of The Jade Steps:  The Story of the Liberation of Mexico by One of History’s Most Heroic Women – by, ahem, yours truly.

Check out the Amazon reviews.  It’s politically incorrect history at its best and most timely, as it goes to the heart of the civil war waging inside the soul of Mexico, which is the root cause of Mexico’s threat to America.

Either or both are a wonderful way to say Merry Christmas!

America gave itself a huge Christmas present this week.  You’ve all seen the front page headlines about Millennials (young voters 18-29, although the generation is from 9 to 31) losing their teen-age crush on Zero.  It’s such a game-changer that it prompted The President Must Resign yesterday (12/05 – per TTPer request, it’s Free so you can send it to anyone).

Even more startling, however, was the Gallup poll released yesterday (12/05) on Zero’s job approval.   It compares his ratings by subgroup from a year ago (December 2012 after his reelection) to now (November 2013).  Study it carefully, it will blow you away.

Gallup headlines the 23% drop in Hispanic support, from 75 to 52%, which is an eye-opener especially given his desperate pandering to Hispanic illegals.   But he’s down by double digits across the board – nonwhites, unmarrieds, all age and income groups, churched or unchurched, men or women.  There are 40 subgroups and he’s losing them all – even blacks are down 9% (although with their racism, it’s 92 to 83%).

So it’s not just the young ‘uns who’ve soured on Zero, it’s most everyone.  Now is the time, obviously, for the Pubs in Congress to call for his resignation, to stand up to his bullying demagoguery by defunding him, and reject his demands for amnesty.  Clearly, they have the American people at their back.

************

Regarding amnesty.  On Tuesday (12/03), Dirty Harry loudly brayed that Boehner would "cave" on it.  You can be sure that Speaker John is reading the London Daily Mail this morning (12/06), which explains why the majority of US Hispanics agree with the GOP on illegal immigration.  Later today, he’ll be sending a note inviting Harry to step out of the cave he lives in and into the political daylight.

The most enjoyable quick read of the day (12/06) is Bruce Walker’s advice for the Pubs to focus on Dem incompetence in 2014.  The money quotes:

"The leaders of the Democrat Party are profoundly dumb folks… Anyone who listens for more than a few moments to Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi quickly learns just how very limited both of them are in handling anything more than a tough game of checkers…

Obama, when the teleprompter is off, is a very ordinary mind, reflecting the most grotesque results of perpetual affirmative action nudging this nebbish from an average student, a very common state senator, and a United States senator of no accomplishments at all into the leader of the free world.

Democrat leftism in America has been propped up so long by the establishment media, by corrupt labor unions, and by that vast gray army of bureaucrats and academicians connected with a huge umbilical cord through which flow billions of dollars in salaries and benefits that whatever modest competence the left in America once possessed has long since vanished."

Another quick read is Joel Pollack’s quite concise explanation of Why Obama Is No Mandela.

My first of many visits to South Africa was in 1971.  It was a paradise, a thriving bastion of Western Civilization – but for whites only.  And everyone lived in terror of the genocidal race war the whites were sure would come some day and kill them all.  Mandela prevented that – to the world’s (and my) utter amazement.  He was indeed a great man – and the opposite of this small-souled creature we suffer under today.

This morning (12/06) in the WaPo, Charles Krauthammer masterfully exposed Zero’s massive foreign policy incompetence in three critical places:  the abandonment of Ukraine to Russia, the selling out of Israel to Iran’s terror masters, and the kowtowing to Chicom imperialism in the East China Sea.

Charles rightly has nothing but contempt for an inept Zero doing nothing to "prevent a barely solvent Russian kleptocracy living off oil, gas and vodka, from blackmailing its way to regional hegemony."  And for thinking, regarding Iran or China, "better diplomacy than war" – which, he says, is "an adolescent response implying that all diplomacy is the same, as if a diplomacy of capitulation is no different from a diplomacy of pressure."

The fear, real fear, of Southeast Asia leaders now is that such capitulation will encourage Beijing to take the next steps in their imperialist game:  from an East China Sea ADIZ to militarily seizing it, and then the Big Kahuna.

That would be declaring an ADIZ over the entire South China Sea, as a prelude to seizing that too.  This is the fear that Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe expressed in TTP last January:  that the South China Sea would become a Chicom lake.

Over 60% by value of the world’s shipping goes through the South China Sea, which the world considers international waters, except for China, which has the ridiculous audacity to claim it entire as its territorial waters.  Here’s the map:

An alliance of desperation is forming between Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Australia to ward this off – desperation because they know they can’t depend on Zero’s America.  Desperate folks do desperate things.  The odds of war increase.

A lot of TTPers are fans of Bitcoin.  Richard Rahn sure is.  It’s supposed to be the private currency end run around government control over our financial lives.  I wish it every success – but guess what’s the world’s largest bitcoin exchange?  BTC China.  There are more bitcoin users and wallet downloads in China than anywhere else.

As PandoDaily points out in Bitcoin’s China Problem:  "For a currency touted for its independence from government interference, the growing concentration of Chinese influence over this crypto-currency wealth creates a single point of failure for the system."

For now, bitcoin depends on the whims of the Red Chinese.  Let’s hope whoever Satoshi Nakamoto is or bitcoin’s Blockchain has a solution for this.

Google "water wars" and you’ll get close to a million-and-half hits.  There’s a leftie documentary, Blue Gold, claiming that "wars of the future will be fought over water, as they are over oil today."  Politicians and pundits all over the globe never tire these days of warning us of the Coming Water Wars between countries and peoples.

We’re running out of water, we’re wasting and polluting and exploiting our most valuable resource, we’re all going to die of thirst because of greedy capitalist corporations that will keep it to themselves and sell it to the highest bidder!!!  Blah, blah, blah.

All of this apocalyptic fear-mongering took a fatal hit Wednesday (12/04) with the publication of a paper in the preeminent science journal Nature:  Offshore Fresh Groundwater Reserves As A Global Phenomenon.

This is a revolutionary discovery.  World changing epic.  An international team of Australian, Dutch, US, and British scientists has discovered gigantic reserves of fresh water buried underneath the sea floor of the continental shelves of North America, China, Africa, Europe, and Australia.  Yes, enormous amounts of fresh water under the ocean.

During the ice ages, ocean levels were far lower than today and far more land was above water.  Ever hear of Doggerland?  It’s where the North Sea is now.  Cro-Magnon man lived there for millennia until the sea flooded it with the end of the Ice Ages.  Continental shelves all over the planet extended a lot further.  For eons, rain fell on these now submerged lands with aquifers forming underneath.

As the last Ice Age began ending some 18,000 years ago, the mile-high ice sheets melted, the oceans rose, Doggerland and coastlines were submerged – but their aquifers remained, protected by layers of clay and sediment.

The scientist team discovered them via seafloor water studies done for oil and gas exploration purposes.  Instead of being rare and small, the team found that "aquifer freshwater below the seafloor is a common finding, and not some anomaly that only occurs under very special circumstances."

How much water?  They estimate at least 500,000 cubic kilometers (120,000 cubic miles) – and maybe a lot more.  The entire world’s total water consumption a year now is 9 billion cubic meters.  Since there are 1 million cubic meters in a cubic kilometer, that’s 9,000 cubic kilometers.

So we can now increase our usage by 25% for 200 years, or 50% for 100 years with water for the world along its shallow continental shelves — that they’ve just begun to find out how much there is there.

What’s more, it’s easily and affordably accessible with current offshore platform oil drilling technology.  Just like Peak Oil is in the forgotten past, so soon will be Peak Water and the threat of Water Wars.  It’s astoundingly good news for a thirsty and parched world.

We’ll end with this delightful news.  On Wednesday (12/04), Norman Rockwell’s masterpiece painting, Grace, sold for a record $46 million.

The insufferably snobbish art world has always called Rockwell an "illustrator" instead of a real artist.  He is, of course, the greatest and most beloved American artist of the 20th century – and will be recognized as such by future generations.  At last, this recognition has begun.  (Note the huge hardcover coffee table book of all of Rockwell’s art is $53, but the Kindle edition is only $11)

Now… Remember to click on "Gift Subscriptions" under "User Menu" in the Home Page top right side bar to gift anyone for Christmas with a year of TTP for 50% off.  Zero’s headed off a cliff, the movement demanding his resignation will grow.  Freedom is going to begin its comeback next year.  Human ingenuity and creativity will forge ahead.  And TTP will keep you informed of it.

There’s much cause for optimism.  Remember, this is America, the one and only.  And remember to say and tweet and email at every opportunity that furthermore, I consider that:

THE PRESIDENT MUST RESIGN
