WHY I LOVE OBAMACARE

Brit Hume is no spring chicken.  He’s been a journalist reporting on American politics for 45 years.  On Tuesday (11/12), he told Megyn Kelly on Fox News that the Zerocare meltdown is "as bad a political disaster as I have ever seen."

That means as bad as Vietnam was for Lyndon Johnson, as Watergate was for Richard Nixon, and badder than Iran-Contra was for Ronald Reagan and Monica Lewinsky was for Bill Clinton.  Hume is saying that the political fate of Barack Hussein Zero is now in dire jeopardy.

I prefer a different descriptive adjective, however, to characterize this current "political disaster."  For me, more appropriate than "bad" would be "wonderful" or "thrilling."  So much so that I may be the most enthusiastic admirer and supporter of Zero’s signature program on the planet, far more than any felonious "navigator."  I think "Obamacare" – a moniker that all conservatives should change to "Zerocare" – is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

There is a lunacy making the email rounds claiming that what Hume is calling a "disaster" is really a success, that it was planned this way to achieve the ultimate liberal-fascist goal of total government control over the US health care system.

It would make more sense to argue that the Zerocare meltdown is proof that Barack Hussein is a conservative mole, that he planned this in order to achieve his goal of the ruination of liberalism and the destruction of the Democrat Party.

Both of these claims regarding what Zero is planning are delusional.  The ancient Greeks would recognize what is going on in an instant.  The gods love to destroy those afflicted with a form of insanity called hubris – arrogance and insolence of such magnitude that one suffers a complete disconnect with reality.  So would the ancient Israelites, who noted in Proverbs 16:18 that "Gaba (the Hebrew word for unconscionable arrogance translated in the King James Bible as ‘pride’) goeth before destruction."

The opposite of hubris for the Greeks was sophrosyne "prudence, temperance, soundness of mind," which Zero was supposed to embody but now everyone can see does not.

So it is that I could not be happier over the misery being suffered by millions of Americans with the loss of their health insurance or their premiums unaffordably skyrocketing for less coverage.  This is not schadenfreude.  I don’t want to gloat over what is happening to so many of our countrymen.  Before this debacle is over, a horrific number of them are going to get really sick, their lives seriously impaired, or die.  This is awful.

Unfortunately, it is necessary.  It is as necessary as a slap across the face or a bucket of ice-cold water dumped on the head in order to shock someone out of a suicidal, masochistic out-of-their-mind trance.  Only a shock of this horrific, punch-in-the-solar-plexus magnitude will get the American people as a whole out of their I-can’t-survive-without-the-government/I-have-to-love-Obama-or-else-I’m-a-racist stupor.

This is necessary – but far from sufficient.  Just as unfortunately, what is also necessary is for Republicans in Congress to have the smarts and guts to take advantage of the Democrats’ mortal plight.

Up until just a few hours ago, it seemed certain that the Pubs were going to stupidly wimp out as they always do.  Congressman Fred Upton (R-MI) has suckered 161 of his colleagues into co-sponsoring his Keep Your Health Plan bill (HR 3350), which would grandfather current policies and exempt them from Zerocare.

Napoleon would immediately see how stupid this is, as he advised, "Never interfere when your opponents are destroying themselves."  Upton and his co-sponsors want outraged Zero voters to like them, so they have come up with a "fix" of the problem – a problem that is entirely, completely, 100% owned by the Dems.  Let them fix it, Fred, you idiot!  Stay out of it!

The vote on Fred’s bill was scheduled for tomorrow.  But, in an Act of Providence, Zero preempted Fred’s Fix this morning (11/14) by announcing an extra-legal "administrative change" allowing insurers to ignore the law’s requirement of minimum benefits and continue current coverage for another year.

Zero to the rescue!  The Dems still own this dog’s breakfast and Zero’s fix will make it even more unpalatable.  All the Pubs have to do is stay away and let Americans barf when they try to digest it.

All the Pubs have to do is follow the advice of Senator Ted Cruz.  In a press release issued shortly after Zero’s speech today, he explained that Zerocare cannot be fixed, there is no fix, it must be repealed, "it’s time to start over."

Remember that phrase:  "It’s time to start over."  That should be the mantra of the Republican Party.

First, the Pubs need to apply it to themselves.  It’s time to start standing up for the moral principles they claim to have but seldom have the courage to.  It’s time to realize they have a leader in Ted Cruz who embodies those principles, is fearless in espousing them, has the smarts to intellectually eviscerate any Dem including The PIAPS, and who can rescue America in 2016.

Second, the Pubs need to apply it to America.  It’s time for them to realize that the Zerocare Meltdown is the golden opportunity of their and our lives to destroy the credibility of nanny state liberalism.

If the Stupid Party can for once take the messaging offensive, it can precipitate the death spiral not only of Zerocare but the entire socialist-fascist agenda of the Democrat Party.  A message like this:

"Obamacare and its massive failure is 100% Democrat owned and operated.  The Democrats’ attempt for government to replace the free market, the nanny state to replace freedom, for their socialist agenda to replace the Constitution has failed.  It’s time to start over.  It’s time to start moving towards your freedom, and away from government control of your life."

It’s time for the Republican Party to start over.  It’s time for America to start over, to abandon the failed nanny state Democrat liberalism of the 20th century, and embrace 21st century capitalism and freedom.  It’s time for this thanks to "Obamacare."  That’s why I’m its #1 fan.
