Before we get started, first an announcement:  Jack Abramoff will be a featured speaker at Rendezvous XI! 

We’ll be getting an exclusive sneak preview of his book (it won’t be released until November 15^th) – "Capitol Punishment: The Hard Truth About Washington from America’s Most Notorious Lobbyist" – and he’ll tell us where the movie about him, Casino Jack, went right and went wrong.  (He’s got some great stories about Kevin Spacey.)

We already (8/11) discussed the barbarian children of  liberalism’s welfare state burning down Britain in The Wages of Envy.  The moral collapse of the entire edifice of the ruling Brit lib-elite is so instantly and nightmarishly obvious that millions of normal Brits are waking up from it.   Maybe they’ll even stay awake.

There’s a parallel to this in the US, where the S&P downgrade and economic collapse are awakening millions of Americans to the nightmare of Zero they voted for in 2008.

What’s hilarious about this is that lots of them are moonbat Dems outraged that Zero isn’t Marxist-Fascist enough.  Thus all of moonbat-land is agog at one of their own admitting in the liberal flagship of the New York Times last Sunday (8/07) what we’ve known about Zero all along:

"That he had accomplished very little before he ran for president, having never run a business or a state; that he had a singularly unremarkable career as a law professor, publishing nothing in 12 years at the University of Chicago other than an autobiography; and that, before joining the United States Senate, he had voted ‘present’ (instead of ‘yea’ or ‘nay’) 130 times, sometimes dodging difficult issues."

The libtards are figuring this out now?  Rotflmao.  The zombie worshippers of The One are finally suffering buyer’s remorse.  The libsite Salon.com is currently running a featured article, Run, Hillary, Run!

On our side, the best op-ed page in the country (Investors Business Daily), declared this week (8/10):  A President In Over His Head Should Resign.

If this is déjà vu to you, you may be recalling the Zero Resignation Challenge from June 2009:

"This is a doomed presidency.  So doomed that I think the issue is not whether he will be re-elected in 2012 but whether he will run at all – like Lyndon Johnson who overwhelmingly defeated Barry Goldwater in 1964, and had become so overwhelmingly unpopular that he didn’t run for re-election in 1968. 

"So doomed that I think the odds are growing that he may not only refuse to run in 2012 but resign in mid-office.  The operative word is ‘may.’  I am not making a prediction.  I am saying this is an increasing possibility, and enough of one now to hold a contest."

And that the HFR from December 2009 predicted HRC will run against Zero in the 2012 primaries.

The HFR Woman of the Week, to whom we should all raise a grateful glass, is Kathy Nickolaus, county clerk of Waukesha County, Wisconsin. 

As Jack Kelly describes this week, the Dems are going nutso over the new Pub government throttling their blood supply of public union money.  When their frantic efforts to block the legislation failed, they spent millions trying to recall a conservative justice, David Prosser, knowing his vote would make the difference in a state supreme court challenge (which it subsequently did).

The Dems and unions were popping the Korbel corks Wednesday night (4/06) after Tuesday’s election results came in showing Prosser narrowly defeated.  They woke up Thursday morning (4/07) to learn that Ms. Nickolaus had failed to count over 14,000 ballots, the majority of which went to Prosser ensuring his victory.

The lefties went apoplectic but it was an error not fraud, and their champagne turned to vinegar.

So they conducted this monumentally vicious recall attack on Pub state senators, spending so much money they were cockily confident they would defeat at least three out of six this week (8/09), giving them a 17-16 senate majority that could stymie all of Gov. Walker’s reforms.

Two of them were goners – one was in a Dem-majority district, the other was an idiot who had dumped his wife for a lemon tart mistress – and election results Tuesday quickly showed they were.  One to go.  But three of the remaining four Pubs won.  So Dem hopes were all on the 8^th Senate District, Dem Sandy Pasch defeating Pub incumbent Alberta Darling.

As the votes trickled in hour after hour all night, it was neck and neck until Pasch started pulling ahead.  Once again, the Korbel was put on ice.  Then the Dems noted there was one county in the 8^th that hadn’t reported hardly any votes yet.  Yep, Waukesha, with Wisconsin’s Kathleen Harris at the helm.

Just before midnight, the Waukesha votes came in, delivering a deluge of Darling votes (Waukesha is solid GOP).  Darling won going away, 54% to 46%, the Dems screamed fraud, but quickly shut up.  Nickolaus had simply taken extra time to triple-check her counts and verify them with Waukesha Dem election observers.

Yet it’s cosmic justice that the same woman snatched victory from the Wisconsin Dems and union thugs – twice.

So kudos to Kathy, but what really made the difference in this hugely consequential Dem recall defeat – Kelly is right, it’s the Democrats’ Kursk – has been overlooked.  On May 25, Gov. Scott Walker signed into law legislation passed by the new GOP legislature requiring Picture Voter ID.  These were the first elections in which the new law started taking effect.

Cheating and vote fraud is the Dems’ preferred method of winning elections – which is why they are gearing up for it nationwide on the most massive scale ever seen for 2012.  Which is why it’s so important for you to read The Left Owns The Election Industry, written this week (8/11) by J. Christian Adams, the former Justice Dept. lawyer who quit in protest of Attorney General Holder’s anti-white racial bias.

This article will scare you, especially because the Dems are so incredibly organized and funded for voter fraud and we have nothing.   Organizing to stop it, and for passing then enforcing Voter ID laws like Wisconsin’s, had better be a key priority of the Tea Parties.  They better start very soon.

Now we get to talk bout Rick Perry.  He’s running, his announcement tomorrow in South Carolina timed to blow all the other candidates scrambling for votes in Iowa’s meaningless straw poll out of the water.  He doesn’t take prisoners.  He’s also the next president.

Actually, though, this isn’t about him, but rather the profound mendacious stupidity of his Dem critics.   

That libsite linked above begging the PIAPS to run, Salon, put up this hilarious hit-piece Wednesday (8/09), Rick Perry: The Pro-Sharia Candidate?  The kid who wrote it, Justin Elliott, is wonderfully ignorant of what he’s blathering about.

His accusation is that Perry is buds with the Aga Khan.  Somehow, that means he will promote the imposition of radical Moslem sharia law upon America if president.  The Aga Khan is indeed, as Elliott says, the spiritual leader of a form of Islam called Ismailism, and is revered by the some 20 million Ismailis round the world.

We talked about the Ismailis in The Pamir Knot (September 2010).  We learned that they "believe in a mystical, peaceful form of Islam that is the antithesis of hate, violence, and Sharia imperialism that infuses mainstream Sunni or Shia Islam."

Further:

"There are no mosques in the Pamirs, because Ismailis have no mosques.   They pray privately – men and women together.  Ismaili men are extremely respectful of women.  The thought of treating women as an inferior form of humanity as does mainstream Islam is as disgusting to Ismaili men as it is to us.  No Ismaili man would even think of demanding his wife wear a veil or cover her face in public…

"Up in these lost mountains on the roof of the world, there is a form of Islam that should be a model for Moslems all over the world, a moral contrast to the medieval evil of Wahhabi Islam of the Saudis, the Deobandi Islam of the Taliban, or the Khomeini Islam of the Mullahs of Iran."

Which is why the Islamist missionaries of sharia hate Ismailis more than us infidels.  So good for Perry being friends with Ismailis.  To claim this makes him "pro-sharia" is a twisted joke.

But maybe Elliott wants the joke to be on us.  Maybe he does know the difference between Ismailis and Wahhabis, and is counting on conservatives being ignorant enough not to know.  His goal is to smear Perry, and is hoping conservative ignorance will achieve it. 

Let’s not let this lib smear artist get away with it.

There is, however, one Republican governor being urged to run for president who is pro-Sharia:  New Jersey’s Chris Christie. 

When criticized for appointing a Moslem Brotherhood lawyer, Sohail Mohammed, to the New Jersey Superior Court, he spouted the accusations of "Islamophobia" he learned from Grover Norquist, called his critics "crazies," and declared "this sharia law business is just crap."

Jihad Watch’s Robert Spencer notes that "What’s crap is the idea that Christie is fit to be president."  Daniel Pipes states what is now obvious, that "Christie will never become president."  Stick to New Jersey, Chris.  Just like you promised.

So I’m happy that Christie isn’t running – and not that Ron Paul is.  Once again, in the Ames, Iowa debate last night (8/11), he exposed himself as a Blame America Firster who has no desire whatever to defend our national security.

He’s done this with complete consistency in Congress, never once voting for a single defense authorization bill.  But last night, he went total wacko.  Not only did he blame the US for Iran being a state sponsor of terrorism, not only did he excuse Iran’s quest for nuclear weapons, he actually wants Iran to have nukes.  It’s "natural" for the mullahs to have nukes, and "what’s so terribly bad about this?"

I’ve gotten a number of pro-Paul TTPers mad at me for saying this before, but this seals the deal that he has a Hate America foreign policy as bad as Noam Chomsky’s.  At least in Ames it’s out on full undeniable display.  And by defending Mullah nukes, it also shows he’s a Hate Israel Anti-Semite.  No wonder he was booed.

Did you know the Silk Road is paved?

This is a section of it in Chinese Turkestan near an oasis called Khotan on the southern edge of the great Takla Makan desert.  It’s paved so the Chicom Red Army can get to it quickly if its inhabitants rebel – which they’ve been doing recently.

You see, Chinese Turkestan is not Chinese.  The folks there are Turkic, like their ethnic cousins in the rest of Central Asia like the Uzbeks and Kazakhs.  They are also Moslems – which gives the Chicoms an excuse to brutalize any attempt of theirs to be free by waving the boogeyman of "Moslem terrorism."

A number of articles appeared in the world press this week reporting Ethnic Unrest Flares In China.  But the "unrest" is not in China proper (Han China) but in its western colony of "Xinjiang" (New Frontier) or Turkestan. 

Supposedly there is an East Turkestan Independence Movement (ETIM) terrorist group perpetrating the violence.  It doesn’t exist.  It’s a bunch of agents provacateurs paid by the PLA’s Second Department (military intelligence) to provide a rationale for crackdown oppression.

This is the shrine of a Sufi saint in the Takla Makan outside of Khotan.  The people of Khotan and all of Chinese-colonized Turkestan have been Sufis for centuries.

Sufism is the peaceful form of Sunni Islam – just as Ismailism is the peaceful form of Shia Islam as discussed above.  It promotes a mystical, personal relationship to Allah, rather than performing robotic ceremonies (like praying five times a day with exactly the same words and motions every day, no changes ever) and following rigid rules as do mainstream Sunnis. 

Instead of robot rituals, Sufis engage in joyous musical dancing, couples whirling themselves into trances.  Which is why Wahhabis hate Sufis as much as they hate Ismailis and Christians.

Back in May 2004 I wrote China’s Three No’s – about the consequences of no wives, no water, and no banks.  A lot has been written since about the disaster of the first two – but not about the third, as China is supposed to be sitting in the world’s financial catbird seat with trillions of foreign reserves.

Fox Business News shot that down this week (8/07), reporting China’s Debt Problem Worse Than Portugal.  The analysis notes that China’s system is jammed with rotten debt held in off-balance sheet state enterprises, its countryside  littered with empty ghost towns, its local debt understated by hundreds of billions of dollars, and that its debt-to-GDP ratio worse than Portugal’s – 89% (Portugal’s is 83%).

The take-home here is that China’s problems are worse than ours – much worse in fact, as it’s run by a bunch of Commies (all right, so are we, but we get to change that next year).

The truth is that there isn’t any place on earth with more potential for freedom and prosperity than America.  We just have to seize that potential, make it real, and get the government out of its way.
