HALF-FULL REPORT 03/26/10

It was seven years ago this week that I launched To The Point.  Sure seems like a long time ago.   In late March of 2003, President Bush launched a military invasion to liberate Iraq.  In late March of 2010, President Zero launched a fascist invasion to enslave America.

It’s easy to be nostalgic about those days, so it’s little wonder that Miss Me Yet? billboards are showing up.  But we can’t afford nostalgia now.  We have to start protecting our future.  There are folks in Missouri who understand this.

The forerunner of Kansas City was Independence, Missouri, founded in 1827 as the starting point of the Oregon Trail, the Santa Fe Trail, and the trails that led to California.

Just east of Independence, where explorers set off to create a civilization out of a wilderness, anonymous American patriots have erected this billboard on I-70:

Note the sequence of the steps.

Step 1:  Starve the Beast.  The first step is a peaceful non-violent tax revolt.  It is refusing to pay taxes as an act of peaceful civil disobedience against unconstitutional laws.

Step 2:  Vote out incumbents.  No space for nuance on a billboard.  To vote out all incumbents means – because there are more gerrymandered Democrat districts than Republican – you’d still end up with a Dem majority. So this step means vote out Democrats, plus the most egregious RINOs.  Again, this step – voting – is a peaceful activity.

Step 3:  And if 1 & 2 fail?  Again, no nuance.  With Step 1, it may be that far too few Americans have the gumption for a tax revolt.  With Step 2, it may be that enough voters are bought off by government handouts that the Dems keep their House & Senate majorities in honest non-rigged elections.

So if Steps 1 & 2 fail on these bases, then there aren’t enough real Americans to save the country, and it’s time to think about someplace else in the world to live.

However – if there is a substantial tax revolt and all it does is make Leviathan more fascist than ever, and if the November elections are rigged with massive vote fraud, then it’s time to lock and load for there is no other recourse.  Peaceful means to rid our country of Marxist Fascism will have been exhausted.  Live free or die.

The clear threat at this moment is an American Reichstag.

Four weeks after Adolf Hitler was sworn in as the freely-elected Chancellor of Germany, on February 27, 1933, the Reichstag Parliament Building in Berlin caught fire and burned down.  Hitler was able to blame the Communist Party – a main opposition party to the Nazis – for the fire, and persuade President Paul Hindenburg to issue an emergency decree suspending all civil rights.

With the ensuing chaos and the Nazis now in full control of the Parliament, Hitler forced Hindenburg to sign the Enabling Act on March 23, 1933, less than one month after the Reichstag fire, that enabled Hitler to establish his Nazi dictatorship.

You can be sure that – soon – some agent provocateur from SEIU or ACORN will perpetrate some act of heinous violence against Democrat politicians, more likely a series of such acts, that the Treason Media will whip into a Reichstag-like firestorm of outrage towards TeaPartyers, Sarah Palin, and all opponents of Zero.

The stories you’re reading this week about the "coffin" supposedly on a Congressrat’s lawn, the "white powder" at a Congresspunk’s office, the "death threats" towards Bart Baby-Killer Stupak, etc, etc, etc., are only the barest hint of what’s to come.  Like I said, the next seven months until November 2nd are going to be the ugliest of our lifetimes.

So the fight is joined.  Fourteen states filed suits against ObamaCare this week, and more are to come in what could be called the 10th Amendment Rebellion.  Private citizens are filing suits as well.

I am so glad I wrote The Double-D Strategy for Rescuing America, as it sure seems prescient now.  Mitch Rapp’s Defund & Disobey site is taking off (you could really help by sending a donation his way).  And more and more folks are joining what I’m calling The Defund Express.

Dick Morris is now saying the way to defeat ObamaCare is to defund it:

"Once we get the majority in both chambers, defund appropriations for the Obamacare program. The bill passed by the Congress and signed by the president is simply an authorization measure. Funds must be appropriated for it each year by Congress. Through zero funding these changes, we can cripple them before they take full effect."

The Wall Street Journal observes that calling for "Repeal" is a dead letter, as Zero will veto any bill to do so that won’t be overridden.  What a new Republican majority can do is to "deny funding to agencies that would implement" Obamacare.

Congressman Todd Tiahrt (R-KS) has sent out a press release calling for defunding ObamaCare:

"Now that President Obama has signed the unconstitutional healthcare bill into law, Republicans need a full-court-press strategy to undo the damage Democrats have created.  I am calling for strategy discussions with House and Senate leaders so we can begin the process of defunding every federal mandate contained in the president’s new law…  I propose that we quickly begin discussions of the Appropriations strategy to prevent funding for implementation of Obamacare."

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) told Sean Hannity that "Congress can defund ObamaCare" in 2011 with a new Republican majority.  Senator Judd Gregg (R-NH) then laid out the strategy:  Defund the implementation until the 2012 election, then repeal the whole thing under a new Republican president.

The Defund Express, folks.  In fact, if you Google "defund Obamacare," you’ll get 138,000 hits.  That’s because the Defund strategy is what will work.  To implement ObamaCare, tens of thousands of bureaucrats in dozens of agencies and departments have to be hired – and they can’t be hired unless the House appropriates the money to hire them and the Senate approves the appropriation.

The IRS alone must hire "many thousands" to enforce ObamaCare edicts.  IRS goons won’t be able to enforce a thing without the money do so.  TeaPartyers chanted "Kill the Bill" on the Capitol Steps prior to ObamaCare’s passage last Sunday (3/21).  The chant next year will be, "Kill the appropriations" to implement ObamaCare.  No money, no ObamaCare.

But why stop there?  Why not use the Defund Strategy to kill off one particular massive unconstitutional government program to kill off lots of other massive unconstitutional government programs?

We need to force Republicans in Congress to take charge of the debate, to take the offensive and start de-infantilizing America.

"How appropriate that one of the selling points of Obamacare was the guarantee that children up to the age of 26 can remain on their parents’ insurance plans — because the Democrats’ whole program is about extending adolescence," observes columnist Mona Charen.

"If you want to be treated as an adult, vote Republican.  If you want to be treated as a child, vote Democrat."  Sure would make a gutsy campaign slogan.  Let’s demand the GOP has the guts.

One way to do so is to request all Republican candidates for federal office sign The Defund Pledge.  So let’s have a round of applause, please, for TTPer "Ragnar", who has secured the signature of the Republican candidate for Pennsylvania’s 8th Congressional District, Ira Hoffman.

Thanks, Mitch!  Let’s hope there will be many to follow.

OK, it’s been tough sledding this week.  Let’s take a break, and focus on why pot growers in California don’t want marijuana legalized.  If California voters legalize grass in a referendum on the November ballot, the growers of illegal weed are afraid it will put them out of business. They even claim pot legalization will devastate the entire economy of Northern California.

And that’s bad?  Aren’t all those folks there terminally stoned Zero supporters?  Next, I suppose, Mexican drug gangs will be threatening to behead anyone who votes yes in the referendum.

Very seriously, though – if pot legalization will "devastate" the Northern California economy, it will nuke the economy of Mexican drug cartels.  Something to think about.  There are very good reasons to vote Yes for the "Regulate, Control, and Tax Cannabis Act," the referendum’s official title.

Lastly, let’s have some fun this weekend.  Joe Katzman, who has a marvelous website called Winds of Change, and who provides such perceptive insights on the TTP Forum, has a suggestion.

One of the most pointlessly masochistic activities of environmentalists – or as I call them, eco-fascists – is "Earth Hour."  Joe wants us to know we can celebrate Human Achievement Hour instead.

While eco-masochists are engaging in Earth Hour — 8:30 to 9:30pm tomorrow, Saturday, March 27, during which its advocates claim "governments, individuals, and corporations have agreed to dim or shut off lights in an effort to draw attention to climate change" – leave your lights on, every one of them, from 8:30 to 9:30 tomorrow night.

"Not just," Joe says, "as a celebration of the human achievement and technological progress that has given us lives without parallel in human history, though it is that. Those space shots of North vs. South Korea say it all."

It’s also to illuminate the fact that every single environmentalist out there ought to celebrate incandescent light bulbs, as an environmentalist.  For what, Joe asks, did people use for lighting – in their homes, offices, and even in public streets – before the incandescent light bulb?

The answer is whale oil.  It was the light bulb that saved the whales, not the enviros.

It is appropriate, though, isn’t it?  The eco-fascists and other creatures of the Left want us to live in the dark.  They are welcome to turn their lights off, and keep them off.  We will continue to live in the light.
