A CONVERGENCE OF SCANDALS

hillary-likes-moneyFor leftists, the fit is hitting the shan at an ever accelerating rate.

The Clinton campaign and the DNC “helped” pay for the controversial Steele dossier, the Washington Post reported Tuesday (10/25).

The WaPo has known this for at least a year. Why report it now?

Bear in mind the Post publishes major stories only if (a) they advance a leftist narrative, or (b) they’re doing damage control.

I bet the honchos at Fusion GPS figured the judge would rule against them in their suit to block a Congressional subpoena for their bank records, wanted to spin it beforehand.

Within hours of publication of the Post story, the MSM Party Line shifted from: “Outrageous. Donald Trump Jr. tried to get dirt on Hillary from the Russians,” to “What’s the big deal? Everybody does oppo research.”

Stalin would be impressed.

It isn’t that big a deal Hillary would pay Fusion GPS to collect dirt on Trump – though it’s a no no that some of the money came from the Clinton Foundation.

What is a big deal is the FBI took sides in a presidential election, was planning to take over funding of the Steele dossier from Hillary, apparently used it to obtain FISA warrants to surveil the Trump transition team.

When “Buzzfeed Ben” Smith published the entire Steele dossier in January, I said then he’d made a catastrophic mistake for which leftists would pay dearly.

When the Steele dossier remained in the shadows, oblique references to it could be used to justify dozens of innuendo-rich, fact-free stories implying Donald Trump was under Vladimir Putin’s thumb.

But when the whole thing was exposed to light, intelligence pros could tell immediately the Steele dossier was a clumsy fraud, most likely Russian disinformation. (Steele’s chief sources were current and former senior Russian government officials.)

Why would Fusion GPS – and the WaPo – throw Hillary under the bus?

For a clue, read this NBC report from Monday (10/24), which said Special Counsel Robert Mueller is investigating the Podesta Group’s ties to Ukraine, and to Russia.

The Podesta Group is headed by Tony, brother of John, Hillary’s campaign chairman.

NBC’s crack investigative reporters couldn’t find their buttocks with a flashlight and a compass… unless a source spelled it out for them.

Mueller’s team didn’t leak this. Neither did DOJ. NBC’s source had to be a target of the investigation.

I’m sure the honchos at Fusion GPS didn’t want to rat out Hillary. But I doubt they’d take the Fifth, spend megabucks on lawyers to try to quash a subpoena, unless they feared something much, much worse (for them) could be disclosed.

What might that be?

Thanks to Donald J. Trump Jr, we know Fusion GPS employees were lobbying on behalf of Russian interests – in apparent violation of the Foreign Agents Registration Act – for repeal of the Magnitsky Act. And thanks to the Wall Street Journal, we know Fusion GPS did sleazy work on behalf of the Commie swine who run Venezuela.

Tucker Carlson of Fox News confirmed, and expanded upon, the NBC report Tuesday night.

Mueller’s “investigation has broadened to determine which people and organizations in Washington have spent years working secretly as de facto operatives on behalf of the Russia government,” Carlson said his source (also a target of the investigation) told him.

That may not be treason, but it sure comes close.

If much of their revenue came from work they did for hostile foreign powers, Fusion’s honchos could have big time legal troubles. Did they throw Hillary to the wolves as a distraction?

Why would targets of the special counsel’s investigation talk to NBC and Fox News?

Presumably because news reports of their wrongdoing could taint evidence in a criminal trial.

I’m sure the targets turned leakers don’t want to embarrass fellow Dems. But they want to stay out of jail more.

Those on the right who screamed “coverup” because the Justice Department was slow to release the whistleblower in the Uranium One scandal from his non-disclosure agreement should give some consideration to this.

Justice lifted the NDA Wednesday (10/26). That suggests to me indictments may be just around the corner.

I’ve long been of the opinion President Trump wanted a special counsel appointed; that his public feud with Attorney General Jeff Sessions was theater, intended to give Sessions cover for when he drops the hammer on Dems, that Mueller has been investigating Dems from the get go.

Do you remember when Candidate Trump said this?

Imagine all the heads that would explode if/when Mueller exonerates Trump, indicts Dems – especially if Hillary is among them?

The Lying Swine can’t ignore, or downplay, that story. Which is why the frantic things the MSM is doing to divert attention from Uranium One – such as Niger and the saloon hooker Congresswoman – will fail.

From this week forward, all the Lying Swine can do is increasingly ineffectual damage control. They can delay, for a little while longer, revelation of the whole truth. But they can no longer bury it. So many leaks have sprung in the dike journos don’t have enough fingers and toes to plug them all.

And the more damage control the Lying Swine do, the more they’ll damage their own credibility.

We’re seeing a convergence of scandals.

The Russia collusion narrative, as it applies to Trump, is now deader than a doornail. The Russia collusion scandal, as it applies to Hillary, the Obama administration, the FBI and the news media, is just beginning.

Congress is no longer investigating Trump. Congress is investigating Dems, and the FBI. It remains to be seen how much news Congressional investigations will generate, but all of it will be bad for leftists.

In the next few weeks we’ll learn more about Uranium One, about who was paying Fusion GPS, for what, and which journos were in their pocket.

We’ll also learn more about Obama administration spying on Americans, how the “unmasking” (of Trump associates) scandal fits in.

And at some point, the Imrin Awan espionage scandal, involving 30 House Dems, will break open.

I said in last week’s HFR now is a good time to stock up on popcorn. It is.
