HALF-FULL REPORT 02/24/17

This tumultuous week has been good for the President of the United States, bad for an increasingly strident, hysterical, dishonest, desperate leftist fascist elite.

Those who obsess about what the president says overlook what’s truly important. Prominent skeptics in the conservative intelligentsia are catching on:

“Trump has grating style, but significant substance,” said Michael Barone.

The president’s perceived volatility could help make his foreign policy a success, said Charles Krauthammer.

“Despite the hysteria, Trump is trending less authoritarian than Obama,” said David French.

We’re going to enforce the law, Homeland Security Secretary John F. Kelly said in two memoranda Monday (2/20).  You can read them here and here. Former U.S. Attorney Andy McCarthy explains their import and why the changes are needed here (long version) and here.

Kelly’s memos call for a mass roundup of illegals, say the usual suspects. That isn’t true, as an irritated Secretary Kelly said during a news conference Thursday (2/23).

The new policy does reverse Obama directives that, in effect, ordered DHS to ignore the 1965 Immigration and Nationality Act (passed by a heavily Democratic Congress), but the changes are otherwise modest. Obama’s policy of exempting the so-called “Dreamers” from deportation will be maintained.

Arresting and deporting violent criminals remains the top priority, but illegals who plea bargain a felony to a misdemeanor, or who file, fraudulently, for welfare benefits no longer will be exempt. Obama’s “catch and release” policy will be ended.

“It’s a promise of vigorous but rationally targeted enforcement, which is what most Americans have long wanted,” said the New York Post.

The policy changes are likely to be popular with most Americans, the Hunter-Harris poll released Tuesday indicates. Even Hispanics support most of what the Trump administration actually is doing.

The Trump administration revoked President Obama’s guidelines on “transgenders”  Wednesday (2/22).  Henceforth, it will be up to state and local governments to determine whether people with male genitalia may pee in the girls’ bathrooms in public schools.

Billionaire Dem donor thinks lefties should protest the new guidelines by using the other gender’s bathroom.

If a 12-year-old girl doesn’t want to see a penis in her locker room, she’s “intolerant,” said CNN anchor Chris Cuomo.

Crybullies who committed violence during inaugural day protests are stunned they face felony charges.

“We organized this event like we did a million (effing) times before,” said an anonymous poster at Antifa. “We followed the formula that we’ve used in Europe and the U.S. for years, i.e., show up, (eff) up fascist faces, break some random shit, watch the right wing tears.

“But this time was different…We didn’t get slaps on the wrist…We got (effing) rounded up and arrested. Some of us…got bailed out…but we have court dates and TEN (EFFING) YEARS IN JAIL.

“It’s not fair.”

Read the whole hilarious whine. It’ll brighten your day.

Muslim immigrants in a Stockholm suburb rioted Monday night (2/20), burning autos, smashing windows, throwing rocks at police.

This was awkward for the “mainstream” media, who had spent the 48 hours preceding claiming this sort of thing never happens in Sweden.

There were 66.5 reported rapes per 100,000 people in Sweden in 2016, up from 24.9 in 2003. The incidence of rape in Sweden is the 2nd highest in the world, behind only Lesotho in South Africa.

“The Stockholm suburb that was hit by violent on Monday is a police no-go zone where cars are torched almost every day, gangs rule the streets and fire engines have to be fitted with bulletproof glass,” Nick Fagge of the London Daily Mail reported from there yesterday (2/23).

Fire engines with bullet proof glass are assigned to the suburb, home to around 15,000 people, 9 out of 10 of whom are immigrants.

Police officer Hanif Azizi told Mr. Fagge: “When we sat in the car and saw the riots I tapped my colleague on the shoulder and said, ‘perhaps Trump was right after all.’”

Joe Katzman called my attention to this Brit blog post on “the Trump fandango.”

The president deliberately makes “a bumbling, vague remark” as he did about Sweden at his rally in Florida Saturday, to bait the media, who snap at it like a trout, Paul Widdecombe thinks.

For two days, MSNBC and CNN broadcast interviews with smug Swedish politicians mocking Mr. Trump. Then there was a riot. The president couldn’t possibly have known that would happen. Maybe God doesn’t like the Lying Swine either.

He doesn’t support a “one sided” new START deal with Russia on capping nuclear warheads deployment, President Trump told Reuters in an interview published Thursday (2/23).

“This doesn’t sound like a man who can be blackmailed by Putin,” said national security correspondent Eli Lake.

“If Trump really were in bed with the Russians, the story would already be out there,” said Lee Smith, who used to be a reporter for the lefty Village Voice.

“The narrative that Trump is effectively Putin’s prison wife is an information operation orchestrated by Democratic hands… to delegitimize Trump’s presidency.

Journalists now clamoring like maniacs about Trump’s ties…are thin-skinned hacks outraged that Trump dared violate the inherent dignity of that most important of political institutions, the presidential press conference.  As we all know, this is the apex of real journalism, where esteemed members of the press sit side by side with other members of the craft to see who gets their question televised.”

Smith’s analysis of how, when and why the “mainstream” media became lapdogs for Democrats and the deep state is the most profound I’ve ever read. You owe it to yourself to read the whole thing.

The “Trump is a Kremlin stooge” narrative having come a cropper, leftist coup plotters now want to invoke the 25th Amendment, which permits Congress to remove the president from office if he “is unable to perform the powers and duties of his office.”

Alas for them, The Donald doesn’t have narcissistic personality disorder, the psychiatrist who wrote that criteria that defines it said in a letter to the New York Times.

“Fevered media speculation” has encouraged mental health professionals to “disregard the usual ethical constraints against diagnosing public figures at a distance,” wrote Allen Frances.

It would take a two thirds vote by both houses of Congress to invoke the 25th Amendment. There is zero chance this would happen, and if it did, the result would be President Pence. This is even nuttier than Leftist calls for impeachment, or for a military coup.

It’s the news media’s job to “control what people think,” Morning Joe cohost Mika Brzezinski said on MSNBC Wednesday (2/22).

Cowardly Republican lawmakers are ducking out of town meetings to avoid having to face constituents angry about Trump and plans to dismantle Obamacare, “report” the AP and other news organs.

What they don’t tell you is the protests are being orchestrated by Indivisible Guide, a George Soros funded group; Organizing for Action, a group begun by Barack Obama; Move On.org, the Service Employees International Union, Planned Parenthood, et al.

This is astroturfing, not a genuine expression of grassroots sentiment. Other than gaining attention from the news media, I doubt it will be very effective.  At Sen. Bill Cassidy’s town meeting Wednesday (2/22), protestors booed the name of Jesus during the invocation, refused to stand for the pledge of allegiance.

At Sen. Tom Cotton’s town meeting in Arkansas the same day, leftie after leftie got up to read jeremiads from note cards.

How many of you think these antics reflect the attitudes of a majority of people in Louisiana or Arkansas? How many think Cassidy or Cotton are in any political danger?

Exposure to extreme protest behavior decreases support for the activists, their movement, and their cause,” said the author of a study published Feb. 13.

As Instapundit says, this is how you get more Trump. Fortunately the Crybully Left, the Democrats, and the Lying Swine haven’t figured that out yet.

The president is winning, but he isn’t winning alone.

Salena Zito was the only “mainstream” journalist who said Donald Trump might win, because only she spent time asking “deplorables” in the Rust Belt what they were thinking, and why.

“No one more brilliantly or shrewdly set the wheels in motion for President Trump’s victory than (McConnell), Ms. Zito writes. “While many politicians are playing checkers, McConnell is playing three dimensional chess.”

If it weren’t costing Milo Yiannopoulos a ton of money, the Teapot Tempest that erupted Monday (2/20) after the American Conservative Union withdrew its invitation to him to be the keynote speaker at the Conservative Political Action Conference would be right up his alley.

A leading figure of the Alt-Right, Milo is a professional provocateur. He makes his living saying outrageous things in incendiary ways.

The ACU disinvited Milo after the Reagan Battalion posted video clips of him saying kind things about pedophilia.  Simon and Schuster cancelled its book contract with Milo. Some employees of Breitbart News, where Milo was an editor, demanded he be fired. (Milo resigned Tuesday.)

Alt-Righters say they are “nationalist” and “populist,” not conservative. A favorite epithet is “cuckservative.”

Leading “cuckservatives,” according to Alt-Right tweets and blog posts, are Daily Wire Editor Ben Shapiro, because he’s a “Jew boy;” Townhall columnist Guy Benson, because he’s a “faggot,” and National Review contributor David French, because he and his wife adopted a black baby girl.

As you might expect, Shapiro and Benson and French don’t think much of the Alt-Right.

By inviting Milo, the ACU in effect condoned racist and anti-Semitic remarks he has made. But pedophilia was a bridge too far. It’s nice to know the ACU has some standards.

Milo’s dis-invitation created a firestorm on Facebook and Twitter, in the “mainstream” and conservative media, and on cable news shows.

Leftists saw an opportunity to conflate the Alt-Right with conservatives.

Leftists think they have the right to say whatever they want (no matter how false or defamatory) with no repercussions — but no one else should be permitted to say anything that hurts their feelings.

It isn’t only Leftists who require remedial instruction in the Bill of Rights, clumsy and strident defenses of Milo indicate.

The First Amendment protects speech that offends — but in only two ways:

1) No prior restraint.  The government can’t stop you from saying what you want to say.

2) No jail after the speech. You can’t be prosecuted for what you said.

You’ve a right to say what you want, but no one is compelled to listen to you. And if what you say offends others, there can be consequences. Dozens who skipped work to exercise their First Amendment rights of speech and assembly during the “Day Without Immigrants” protests last week got fired.

A private group may invite — or dis-invite — any speaker, for any reason. No publisher is obligated to publish anybody’s book. Milo’s right to free speech hasn’t been violated.

If you think Milo got shafted, what would you think if the ACU had invited David Duke?

Lots of important things happened this week. This wasn’t one of them.

President Trump knocked it out of the park in his speech to CPAC today. He understands clearly who the Main Enemy is, and how to get under their skin.  But I’m running long, so detailed analysis will have to wait until next week.

My hero of the week is California State Sen. Janet Nguyen, who spoke out forcefully against a tribute to domestic terrorist Tom Hayden. The putzes of the week are the jerks who silenced her. Are they fascist hypocrites? Or hypocritical fascists?

Have a great weekend. The Lying Swine won’t.
