OBAMA’S SHUTDOWN

Obama Squeezes Republican Throats on Defense Spending. That’s the headline regarding Zero’s latest veto threat if he doesn’t get his way.

Yesterday (10/07), the Senate passed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) which funds our military, with a veto-proof majority of 70-27.[i] The House passed it with a less than veto-proof vote of 270-156 last Thursday (10/01). It now goes to Zero’s desk to sign or veto. He’s threatened the latter because it specifically prevents him from shutting down Gitmo.

Subtitle D of the NDAA prohibits the use of funding to build facilities for Guantanamo inmates inside the US, their transfer to US soil, or release to countries of origin or third countries until DoD submits a detailed plan for all individuals held at Guantanamo, and Congress approves it.

So Zero is willing to defund America’s military if he can’t close Gitmo and release its terrorists back into the world.

It’s only the latest example of Zero’s Imperial Emperorship’s contempt for Republicans and their leadership. One of the great ironies of America today is that virtually all conservatives in the country feel the same as Zero.

Ted Cruz last week (9/28) brilliantly explained on the floor of the Senate the cause of conservative contempt.

No money may be spent by the federal government unless it is authorized by the House with the Senate concurring. Yet on any budget funding the government, if Congress’ budget defunds (refuses to fund) anything Zero wants – Obamacare, amnesty for illegals, Planned Parenthood, the Iran Sellout – Zero has a hissy fit and declares “I, Barack Obama, will veto funding for the entire federal government and shut it down,” and Republican leadership folds like a cheap suit.

There is an easy cure for this.

The first step towards the cure would be for a reporter to ask the key test question to any member of the Pub leadership – and especially those running for House Speaker:

“If the President threatens to veto funding for the federal government because it does not contain funding for something he wants, will you call it Obama’s Shutdown?”

All that it will take for the cure to start taking effect is for the answer to be “Yes.”

In other words, the cure is for Pubs in Congress to stop being Obama-bootlicking surrender monkeys and demand in every possible forum that the resultant shutdown be called Obama’s Shutdown.

Congress passing a budget to fund the government is not a shutdown. The president refusing to sign that budget is.

The Pubs need to endlessly repeat on every communication channel there is – Twitter and social networks, websites, emails, press conferences, talk radio, TV news and TV late night show guest appearances, the works – so that every American hears it over and over and over and over again:

“This is Obama’s Shutdown. We passed a budget to fund the government, not close it. Obama is willing to shutdown the whole government, not us. This is Obama’s Shutdown.”

It’s an easy sale because Zero’s sacred cows over which he is willing to shutdown the government are morally revolting and wildly unpopular.

He’s actually willing to shutdown the entire government for not funding apotheoses of evil like Planned Parenthood, a criminal organization selling the organs of murdered babies.

He’s actually willing to shutdown the entire government for not funding flooding the country with millions of illegal aliens and then illegally making them citizens.

He’s actually willing to shutdown the entire government for not funding mullahs in Iran who chant “Death to America!” with nuclear weapons and $100 billion to sponsor Moslem terrorism worldwide.

He’s actually willing to shutdown the entire government for not funding Obamacare’s destruction of America’s entire health care system.

It’s terminally frustrating for conservatives because it’s so easy for the Pubs to do this – and they haven’t got the guts to do it.

The opportunity to place the blame on Zero for a threatened “shutdown” is being handed to the Pubs on a platinum diamond-studded platter – and they want to drop the platter handed to them like a hot potato. What’s wrong with these people?

Let’s get this started. How far away is your Congressman’s district office? Pay it a visit. Most likely he or she is running for reelection next year, so tell the office that you’ll consider donating if you get a simple “Yes” answer from him or her to this question:

“Regarding any threat of the president’s to shutdown the government if Congress refuses to fund Executive Amnesty, or Planned Parenthood, or the Iran Deal, will you refuse to take the blame for it, and insist instead that it be called ‘Obama’s Shutdown’?”

Ask the same question of your Senators (via email if their nearest office is too far). Call up the reporter of your local or city newspaper who covers politics and ask him if he’ll ask that in any press conference he attends. Think of any way to get the question into the public’s eye and in the mind of any Pub in Congress or running for president.

You can make a difference. Here’s what we’re condemning – headlines like this: Congress Avoids Government Shutdown. Typical Lying Swine “news.” Here’s a headline reporting the same event that’s accurate: Senate Passes Bill to Fund Government Through December 11.

That bill provided funding for Planned Parenthood. If it had, Zero would have vetoed it, and then it would be Obama’s Shutdown. He would have shutdown the government, not Congress.

That’s why the Pubs have to make a full-court press to overcome the Lying Swine’s attempt to pretend it’s the Pubs’ “shutdown” and not Zero’s.

The same applies to overriding Zero’s shutdown veto. Ask the question above to your Senator or Congresscritter and you’ll get, “We can’t have a shutdown because we don’t have 67 (or 290 in the House) votes to override the veto.”

With that, then the shutdown becomes the Democrats’ Shutdown.. They get the blame entirely, for every Pub will vote to override, and the votes to sustain – thus causing the shutdown – will be Dem, every one. The Dems should get total complete blame for a shutdown by voting to sustain Zero’s veto. Period, end of argument.

The real bottom line for all of this is: We need Boehner’s replacement as Speaker to be willing to defund Planned Parenthood and the Iran Deal from the December 11 funding bill for the next fiscal year – and be willing to label any Zero threat to veto it “Obama’s Shutdown.” Plus make it clear, Dem voting to sustain the veto will make it “the Democrats’ Shutdown.”

Who has the moxie to do this? Kevin McCarthy?  He’s out.  Dan Webster? Maybe, although he’s pretty unknown. Jason Chaffetz? More likely. Ed Royce? I hope so.

One way to find out – let’s ask, ask any way we can. Let’s see if we can make a difference and put an end to this infuriating Pub pusillanimity.

[i] Article I Section 7 of the Constitution requires a 2/3 majority of both the House and Senate to override a presidential veto. This does not necessarily mean 67 out of 100 Senators or 290 out of 435 House Members. It means 2/3 of those present and voting providing there’s a quorum (51% present). Thus the Senate can override a veto with less than 67 if there are less than 100 present. Same with the House.
