President Reagan is famous for his many jokes about Russia’s Soviet Union, but here’s a story about the time his speechwriters and I told him a joke.

The President had just returned from his Reykjavik Summit with Gorbachev, the first time they ever met.  After the briefing, we asked, “Mr. President, we’d like to know if a certain exchange between you and Mr. Gorbachev really took place.”

He instantly knew we were putting him on, but he ran with it:  “What exchange? Tell me about it.” I was chosen to explain.

“What we heard was that Gorbachev said, ‘Mr. President, I must tell you about a very strange dream I had last night.’  You replied, ‘Well, what was it?’  Gorbachev answered, ‘I dreamt of the White House. And there, strung across the White House columns, was a huge red banner.’ You asked, ‘Well, what did the banner say?’ Gorbachev replied, ‘The banner said Workers of the World, Unite!’

“In response, you smiled graciously and said, ‘You know, Mr. General Secretary, that’s very interesting, because by sheer coincidence, I too had a very strange dream last night.’ Gorbachev asked, ‘What was your dream about?’ You answered, “Well, I dreamt of the Kremlin. And there, strung between the two main Kremlin towers, was this huge red banner.’ To which, Gorbachev asked, ‘What did the banner say?’ You shrugged and raised your hands palms up to say, ‘I don’t know, I can’t read Chinese’.”

When you get the President of the United States to laugh so hard it just about brings tears to his eyes, you know the gag worked.  A great joke reveals a great unspoken truth, and Ronald Reagan well knew that truth about China’s threat to Russia.

It was a truth that George W. Bush came to know as well.  In his meeting with Putin at their February 2005 “Slovakia Summit” in Bratislava, Bush warned him: “You better decide which side you’re on…  You’re going to need us someday to help prevent Siberia from becoming part of China.” (see “How Stupid Is Putin?” TTP, 1/06/06)

And so does Donald Trump, as we saw last night (1/29) when asked about Britain’s Keir Starmer and Canada’s Mark Carney kissing up to the ChiComs of Beijing:

So let’s talk about what’s going on in China this week as it’s a doozy.  We’ll start with what a brainless twerp Starmer is.

By the way, Xi & Co are well aware that “Keir” in Farsi, the Persian language of Iran, means “penis.”  One reason why they are encouraging him to next visit the mullahs who run Tehran, so when he’s addressed as “Sir Keir,” the mullahs are really saying “Sir Penis.”

OK, let’s get serious.  Last Saturday (1/24), Xi announced the arrest and corruption investigation of Zhang Youxia. In encourage you to scan his bio, for this guy was in charge of the entire PLA military of China, the whole nine yards. And much more:

Zhang is Red Nobility, his father was a founder with Mao of the CCP, one of his most trusted officers enabling Mao to defeat Chiang and take over China in 1949.  His connections throughout the CCP and PLA are immensely deep and wide.

Xi is just another ruthless politician and knows nothing about the military, doesn’t know a rifle from a pistol.  But he’s so paranoid about a coup taking him out that he fires and demonizes the one guy most necessary to keep him in power.

What’s all this got to do with Russia?

As you know, I’ve been writing in TTP about Chinese Siberia for 20 years (2006). In 2015 (1/13/15), the New York Times saw the possibility: Why China Will Reclaim Siberia.

Actually, China can “reclaim” about 1 million square kilometers (380K square miles) of Outer Manchuria (Amur Oblast and Primorski Krai that wraps around northeast China all the way to North Korea) that Russia stole 1858-1860.  That’s only a small fraction of all Siberia from the Urals to the Pacific, 13M square kilometers, 5.1M square miles.

However, is you were Xi right now, knowing that taking Taiwan crossing 100 miles of ocean away is logistically impossible with the PLA in disarray, where would you look to unite Han jingoistic nationalism behind you in revenge for a humiliation of the Chinese people by a foreign devil?

A foreign devil whose army is in a hopeless morass of another war, is broke and financially defenseless, whose generals are easily bought off to never fire any nukes at you, whose land is immensely wealthy with natural resources yet bereft of people (7 people per square mile) and is right next door for the taking?

China now is 3.7M square miles (the US is 3.6M with Alaska). Adding 5.1M would easily make China the world’s largest by far (Russia now is 6.6M). Whether Xi would go for the entire Siberian enchilada or settle for just the eastern half is now unanswered – but you can see if Xi’s derrière is at stake, possibly the CCP’s too, what option he believes is his only one.

At least that option would keep him occupied enough to leave us alone for fairly long while.  Like stop doing this…

From financing Anti-ICE violence in Minneapolis to smuggling fentanyl into the US killing over 100,000 Americans over the last few years, from buying US farmland all over the country to massive espionage everywhere, on and on and on, Communist China is ferociously dedicated to being America’s deadliest enemy.

Let’s hope that Ken Cao’s prediction of warlord disintegration is its future, the sooner the better.

Okay, that’s a wrap.  Lot going on in the next few days.  Let’s hope POTUS actually uses his gargantuan “Armada” that’s “locked and loaded” to rid the world of the Islamofascist terror masters in Tehran who have slaughtered tens of thousands of their own Iranian people for wanting freedom from their tyranny.

And while POTUS is hopefully doing that, he could save the Kurds in Syria from the attempted genocide perpetrated upon them by the Jihadis who run Syria and the Islamist madman who runs Turkey.

And pray POTUS will veto the upcoming DHS funding bill designed by cheat-to-win Dems and RINO puppets of big business wanting cheap illegal labor.  February will be a time for testing.
