HALF-FULL REPORT 01/24/20

obama-spying-on-trumpThis is how POTUS greeted us on Twitter when we woke up this morning – demonstrating yet again why he’s the greatest Trollmaster the Internet has ever seen.

Lordy, lordy, what an awesome this week has been.  Our Half-Full cup runneth over.  We’ll begin with the most important event of the week – and no, it’s not the Senate impeachment trial.

It was the publication of a book on Monday (1/20).  You read an excerpt the very next day (1/21): “How Five Members of Joe Biden’s Family Got Rich Through His Connections.”  That was just a teaser.

Peter Schweizer’s masterpiece of investigative journalism, Profiles in Corruption: Abuse of Power by America’s Progressive Elite”, nukes not just Quid Pro Joe’s presidential aspirations, but those of Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, and Amy Klobuchar.

Knowing what the book would reveal about them, it was instrumental in causing Kamala Harris and Cory Booker to terminate their presidential campaigns, as well as persuading Sherrod Brown to not announce a campaign at all.

Who’s left?  A gay 38 year-old mayor of a small town in Indiana?  A billionaire who made his money investing in coal mines and now an anti-fossil fuel climate-change fanatic?  Certainly not Rodham von Pantsuit lurking in the wings.  Schweizer torches her too, while she torched herself this week.

It may take a while for Dem candidates to die of political radiation poisoning emitted by Schweizer’s book.  But damage is already being done.  The Iowa Caucuses are in ten days (2/03).  Just like all the coming Dem primaries, delegates are awarded proportionally past a 15% threshold, no winner-take-all.  The results are going to be a cluster foul-up.

Are we having fun yet?

************

Yet it’s not the individual demolishment Schweizer doles out in devastating detail to Dem candidates that’s his most powerful point.  It’s the abuse of power by “progressives” as such.  It’s not that they alone are corrupt – he’s very clear that abuse of political power happens across the ideological spectrum.

It’s that those on the liberal-left-“progressive” side of the spectrum are unique: “They all favor the rapid and radical expansion of federal political power.”  Thus “their policy ideas would dramatically increase power inequality between the political class and the rest of America.”

For the largest divide is not income inequality in America, but power inequality: “that those with political power get to operate by a different set of rules than the rest of us.”  Thus:

“It is one of the great ironies that while modern progressives speak often about the abuse of power by others, they rarely are willing to address the blunt realities that their desire for greater power creates new opportunities for leverage and corruption.”

By showing how individually corrupt all the leading “progressive” candidates are, he makes a virtually irrefutable case that the politics they advocate would vastly increase corruption rather than diminishing it.  He nukes the entire liberal-left-“progressive” side of the political spectrum as a whole.  Thanks, Peter!

This has got to be the absolute best pun headline of the week:  Same Schiff, Different Dais.  Fiendishly clever, right on target.  It’s an instructive read on the media’s pathological praise of Congress’ most pathological member, Congressman Pencil Neck.

Lindsay Graham’s comment was the pithiest: “Quite frankly, having Adam Schiff lecture the Senate about fairness and due process is like listening to an arsonist talk about fire prevention.”

It wasn’t Pencil Neck, however, putting everyone in the Senate to sleep droning on and on and saying Russia Russia Russia Russia endlessly, who was the biggest loser at the Shampeachment Trial this week.  That would Cryin’ Chuck Schumer:

chuck-cant-get-it-done
Kim Strassel’s Schumer Whiffs Impeachment in the Wall Street Journal this morning (1/24) exposes Schumer’s real game: becoming majority leader.

“Mr. Schumer knows the trial will end with acquittal. His nonstop attacks on Republican integrity are designed to squeeze vulnerable senators and help his party pick up seats in states like Maine (Susan Collins) or Colorado (Cory Gardner). Yet the senators from those states aren’t stupid; they see him hijacking a serious event for naked politicking, and they resent it.”

You can see the game in this map of Senate seats up this November:  23R, 12D.  At the current 53R-47D, Schumer needs a total Dem pickup of 4 seats to replace McConnell – and thereby stymie Trump’s judicial nominations, including those for SCOTUS.

Now that Collins et al are on to him, the Pubs will vote in unity to deny more witnesses, and with that, vote quickly for either a Motion to Dismiss or Motion to Acquit.  Odds are now high Shampeachment will be over next week.

We should note TTPer Yasuhiko Kimura ‘s excellent observation on the Forum that many, possibly POTUS himself, want a full trial with witnesses (like Hunter Biden, Pelosi, Schiff, etc.) to expose them.

The counter is that, with impeachment done and dusted, Barr’s DOJ can proceed with indicting and criminally prosecuting the cabal behind all this – Brennan, Comey, Clapper, on and on, and move to deeply investigate the corruption of Biden, Schiff, Pelosi and other Dem ringleaders.  Best would be to go after Bill & Hillary for the multi-billion dollar pay-to-pay corruption of their Clinton Foundation.

The focus now must be on Democrat criminal corruption as the defining contrast with Trump’s Blue Collar Boom.  The sooner Barr’s DOJ can launch this the better.

The President’s America’s Blue Collar Boom speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Tuesday (1/21) was beyond awesome.  As TTPer R. Thomas Wilson said on the Forum:

“One of the greatest speeches ever by a sitting president. Simple, direct, to the point, take no prisoners and tell it like it is. Thanks be to God, for giving us President Trump.”

You ought to read in entire, but if you’re hurried, here’s what we italicized:

I knew that if we unleashed the potential of our people, if we cut taxes, slashed regulations — and we did that at a level that’s never been done before in the history of our country, in a short period of time — fixed broken trade deals and fully tapped American energy, that prosperity would come thundering back at a record speed.  And that is exactly what we did, and that is exactly what happened.

For the first time in decades, we are no longer simply concentrating wealth in the hands of a few.  We’re concentrating and creating the most inclusive economy ever to exist.  We are lifting up Americans of every race, color, religion, and creed.

Workers’ wages are now growing faster than management wages.  Earnings growth for the bottom 10 percent is outpacing the top 10 percent — something that has not happened.  Paychecks for high school graduates are rising faster than for college graduates.

This is a blue-collar boomThe American Dream is back — bigger, better, and stronger than ever before.  No one is benefitting more than America’s middle class.

The time for skepticism is overEvery decision we make — on taxes, trade, regulation, energy, immigration, education, and more — is focused on improving the lives of everyday Americans.

Today, I hold up the American model as an example to the world of a working system of free enterprise that will produce the most benefits for the most people in the 21st century and beyond.

Today, I urge other nations to follow our example and liberate your citizens from the crushing weight of bureaucracy.  With that, you have to run your own countries the way you want.

We’re also restoring the constitutional rule of law in America… To every business looking for a place where they are free to invest, build, thrive, innovate, and succeed, there is no better place on Earth than the United States.

Before I was elected, China’s predatory practices were undermining trade for everyone, but no one did anything about it, except allow it to keep getting worse and worse and worse.  Under my leadership, America confronted the problem head on… Our relationship with China, right now, has probably never been better.

To protect our security and our economy, we are also boldly embracing American energy independence.  The United States is now, by far, the number-one producer of oil and natural gas anywhere in the world, by far.  It’s not even close.

This is not a time for pessimism; this is a time for optimism.  Fear and doubt is not a good thought process because this is a time for tremendous hope and joy and optimism and action…  we must reject the perennial prophets of doom and their predictions of the apocalypse.  They are the heirs of yesterday’s foolish fortune-tellers.

These alarmists always demand the same thing: absolute power to dominate, transform, and control every aspect of our lives.  We will never let radical socialists destroy our economy, wreck our country, or eradicate our liberty.  America will always be the proud, strong, and unyielding bastion of freedom.

When people are free to innovate, millions will live longer, happier, healthier lives… So, together, we must go forward with confidence, determination, and vision.  We must not be timid, or meek, or fearful — but instead we must boldly seize the day and embrace the moment.”

Yes, Providence has truly blessed America with this extraordinary President.

Meanwhile, the #1 candidate Dems want to oppose him in the polls announced on Tuesday (1/21) that DACA illegal aliens are more American than most Americans.  Oh, and he opposed deportation for drunk driving illegals.  Put a fork in it, Joe, you’re done.

Even ABC News says so.

************

Meanwhile again, by ridiculous to sublime contrast, on Wednesday (1/22), President Trump Proclaims January 22 “National Sanctity of Human Life Day.”

Today, I call on the Congress to join me in protecting and defending the dignity of every human life, including those not yet born. I call on the American people to continue to care for women in unexpected pregnancies and to support adoption and foster care in a more meaningful way, so every child can have a loving home.

Every person — the born and unborn, the poor, the downcast, the disabled, the infirm, and the elderly — has inherent value. Although each journey is different, no life is without worth or is inconsequential; the rights of all people must be defended. On National Sanctity of Human Life Day, our Nation proudly and strongly reaffirms our commitment to protect the precious gift of life at every stage, from conception to natural death.”

If that doesn’t bring tears to your eyes, nothing will.

This afternoon (1/24), Donald Trump became the first president in history to address the March For Life Rally on the Washington Mall.  Watch his address:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuVfD6Dr85I

“I am proud to stand with you today to protect the right of every child, born and unborn, to fulfill their God-given potential. All of us here today understand an eternal truth: every child is a precious and sacred gift from God. Together we must cherish and defend the sanctity and dignity of human life. When we hold a newborn in our arms, we know the boundless love a child brings to a family.”

No wonder he is being hailed as the most pro-life president our country has ever had.

Time for the Coolest News of the Week:

US Troops Drink Iceland Capital’s Entire Beer Supply in One Weekend.  Of course they did.  Gotta love it.

The most fun news of the week.  The Perpetually Outraged Down Under got into a tight undie-twist over this marvelously sexist ad for KFC in Australia.  It’s the latest in a series of KFC Australia’s commercials, where people say the catchphrase, “Did someone say KFC?,” to escape awkward situations.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRriM-LPy24&feature=emb_logo

It’s 15 seconds – yet the Social Justice Fascisti got KFC to apologize “if anyone was offended by our latest commercial.”

As a TTPer in Melbourne wrote to me:  “This political correctness fascism makes me sick – trying to change (by disapproval) the fundamental character of human beings – as a species we would be in a spot of bother if the female and young males DID NOT behave as per the advertisement.”  We sure would.

Biggest So Sad Tragedy for the Left this week:  Media Fail: 2nd Amendment Rally Turns Out Peaceful, Patriotic. Disappointed!

But let’s face it – the most hilariously inconsequential news of the week was Megxit.  Harry turns out to be so p-whipped he allows his brain turned into mush by a goldbricking American divorcee libtard.  What a pathetic dolt.  No wonder the Queen cut him loose – good for her.  The NY Post’s cover is a classic:
