A Tale of Trump in Two Charts.

The first is Low Priced Stocks vs. the S&P 500 over the last 22 years.  The first shaded section is the early 2000s dotcom crash, the second is the Lehman 2008 collapse.  But the key data point here is the fork-in-the-road divergence starting in early 2013, with the S&P rocketing up and the low caps racing for the basement.

LPS vs S&P chartWhat happened?  The SEC launched its enforcement of Dodd-Frank, particularly its making stock brokers and investment advisors criminally liable for recommending high-risk shares to clients.  The obvious consequence is that brokers abandoned any high-risk/low-priced company.

The second chart is that of the Russell 2000 (the bottom 2000 stocks in the Russell 3000) since Trump’s election.  It closed last night (11/23) at 1342.09, a record high with a win streak of 14 consecutive sessions, the longest in over 20 years.

Russell 2000 ChartWhat’s the connection?  Trump has pledged to repeal Dodd-Frank.

Created by the slimiest sleazes in Congress, Chris Dodd and Barney Frank, the bill epitomizes why we hate Washington.  Dodd and Frank created the collapse of 2008 by forcing banks to accept subprime mortgages – then claimed the solution to the crisis created by government regulation was more government regulation, not less.

Peter Wallison at AEI explains What Dismantling Dodd-Frank Can Do.  Yet getting rid of Dodd-Frank is only part of the picture.

To get a grasp on the whole picture, the must-read of the week is Trump’s interview with the New York Times on Tuesday (11/22).

It is masterful.  He owns the room and does so effortlessly, charming them, making them laugh, making all his points clearly yet gracefully – all the while squeezing their nads under the table.

The point to focus on here, however, is this quote:

“While we’re going for big tax cuts, we have to get rid of regulations, regulations are making it impossible. Whether you’re liberal or conservative, I mean I could sit down and show you regulations that anybody would agree are ridiculous. Companies can’t even start up, they can’t expand, they’re choking.

So, I’m giving a big tax cut and I’m giving big regulation cuts, and all of the small business owners over the United States, and all of the big business owners are more excited about the regulation cut than about the tax cut.

And I would’ve never said that’s possible, because the tax cut’s going to be substantial. You know we have companies leaving our country because the taxes are too high. But they’re leaving also because of the regulations. And I would say, of the two, and I would not have thought this, regulation cuts, substantial regulation cuts, are more important than, and more enthusiastically supported, than even the big tax cuts.”

As TTP has been saying for years, Get Government Out Of The Way and the economy will boom.  Trump gets it, explicitly.  Ergo, the Trump Boom is on the way.

As Skye notes in the Forum (11/23), “The amount of wealth that Trump has generated in America in just the past two weeks and long before inauguration is truly amazing.”

And that’s just the canapés on the waiters’ tray before the sit-down dinner.  No wonder the Dems and other leftie moonbats are literally losing their minds.  If Trump succeeds, they’re going to starve in the streets (since the only job they can get is with government).

No wonder they’re coming up with cockamamie goofiness like thousands of threats to Trump Electors (a real genius technique of persuasion), and bribing Greenie Jill Stein to demand a recount in Wisconsin (where she won 1% of the vote) on the basis of unnamed invented “anomalies.”

It’s embarrassing to see grown adults behaving like spoiled children having a shrieking temper tantrum.   Best to ignore it, as the children are not going to get their way.

Oh, and all the enemedia tizzy about The PIAPS winning the popular vote “in the millions”?  All those millions are illegal aliens and cemetery residents voting in California.

Supposedly she’s ahead by some 2.5 million popular votes now.  In California, she got 7,362,490 vs. Trump’s 3,916,209 – 3,446,281 more, vast numbers of which are illegals.  Taking California away, she’s behind by a million votes in the entire rest of the country – and that doesn’t count all the vote fraud in Dem strongholds in e.g., Chicago or Philly.

Trust Attorney General Sessions to have secure Voter ID in place throughout the country by 2018.

(Ps:  Here’s something you’ll never see after January 20 –  Headline yesterday (11/24): Justice Department Suing Two Towns For Refusing To Build Mosques.)

I suppose it’s time to publicly admit I’ve come a long way from despising Trump as I did a year ago.  I still think he behaved abominably towards Ted Cruz and others.  The fact is, since then he’s a changed man.  A far better man.

Normally, it takes a woman to change us guys for the better.  Rebel sure did that for me.  If you look at the picture in the NYT interview linked above, you’ll see a blonde lady in a red suit sitting right next to Trump – Kellyanne Conway.  Bringing Kellyanne on board to run his campaign and take her advice last August (08/17) made the difference – at that moment Trump began taking the lead from Hillary and never looked back.

Kellyanne was the catalyst for change in Trump’s persona and character.  A catalyst accelerates change that would happen anyway, albeit a lot longer.

The model of four generational types posited by Strauss & Howe in Generations gives each type strengths and weaknesses at different times in their life cycles.  Boomers (b. 1943-1961) are an Idealist generation.  Idealists can be dangerous when young – their craziness in the 60s is a clear example.  It takes a long time on average for Idealists to mature.

But when they finally do, they provide the moral leadership for America in a crisis.  We are in a crisis of serious proportions – and suddenly, just in the absolute nick of time, a woman comes along to accelerate a Boomer’s capacity to get out of immaturity and into mature moral leadership right when we need him.

I know that Kellyanne feels it was Providence guiding her role in history.  The result is a man who is blossoming into becoming genuinely presidential before our very eyes.  For that we should be infinitely grateful during this Thanksgiving weekend.

There remains, however, something about The Donald that I find truly objectionable.  Last week (11/15), Trump ditched the press to take his family to dinner at the illustrious Club 21 Manhattan steakhouse.  He and his family sat at his favorite Table 11 – where he ordered a steak well done.

That’s the way he likes it – well done, as in burnt leather.  That’s just wrong.  You don’t do that to a beautiful New York, Ribeye, or Porterhouse.  It borders on Un-American.  The chefs at New York’s most famous steakhouse, Peter Luger’s in Brooklyn, refuse to cook a steak anything more than medium rare.  I’m not sure how I’m going to get over this…..

************

Trump Cabinet updates.  While we all are holding our breath hoping that Mitt Romney will not get Secretary of State (odds seem now in favor of Rudy but John Bolton is definitely in the running, and Dana Rohrabacher tells me he still is), and that Mad Dog Mattis will get Secretary of Defense – three other nominations came in.

South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley will be the UN Ambassador.  This is a three-fer.  Lt. Gov. Henry McMaster, an inner circle Trump advisor, will now become Gov.  Nikki is resolutely pro-Israel and will stand up to the large and loud Anti-Semitic Caucus in the UN General Assembly.  And Nikki (her parents are from India) will support India against China – the Chicoms will not be happy.

Nikki at the UN is a very good foreign policy move.

Betsy DeVos will be the Education Secretary.  I’ve known Betsy and her family for decades – her brother Erik Prince, her late father Ed Prince, her husband Dick, her husband’s father Rich – all, everyone, absolutely first class wonderful patriotic Americans.

The claim that she’s for Common Core is a smear.

Betsy DeVos TweetOn Wednesday (11/23), the president of the American Federation of Teachers, Randi Weingarten, issued a public denouncement of Betsy:

“The president-elect, in his selection of Betsy DeVos, has chosen the most ideological, anti-public education nominee put forward since President Carter created a Cabinet-level Department of Education.

In nominating DeVos, Trump makes it loud and clear that his education policy will focus on privatizing, defunding and destroying public education in America.”

To us, that’s a marvelous endorsement!  There is no Constitutional authority for the existence of a Federal Department of Education.  The entire agency should be completely abolished.  A good start would be to eliminate all federal funding of colleges and universities, wherein lie the worst infestation of Hate America Academia.

Let’s hope Betsy succeeds in privatizing and defunding federalie interference in America’s schools.

And this just in – today (11/25) the Trump team announced  K.T. McFarland for Deputy National Security Advisor.  A third woman – Oh, no!”, scream the Dems.  “How can we claim Trump is a misogynist with a Cabinet full of old white guys now?”

K.T. is great – just read her The One and Only Thing to Consider When You Vote for President (11/04) to see why.  Really a must-read.

K.T. was Ronald Reagan’s Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense.  She has an MA from Oxford and a Ph.D. (all but dissertation) from MIT in nuclear weaponry.  Currently she’s Fox News’ National Security Analyst.  Trump is on top of his game picking her.

Actually, he’s been on top of his game for a while now.  So, in closing here are a few headlines to help you further enjoy your Thanksgiving weekend.

November 21: New survey finds twenty billion barrels of oil worth up to $900 billion under west Texas in largest continuous field ever discovered in the U.S.   We’re going to surpass Saudi Arabia exporting energy to the world.  This will not make either the Saudis nor Putin happy.

November 24:  Antarctic Ice Has Not Melted for 100 Years, Expedition Log Books and Current Research Shows.  Warmists are unhappy.

November 24: Winter really IS coming: ‘Siberian snow theory’ predicts an early and brutal cold season for the US.  Warmists are going to freeze to death wearing shorts and t-shirts, convinced the Earth is burning up.

November 25: Trump will shift NASA’s focus to space exploration and end climate change programs based on ‘politicized science’.  Warmists will now commit hara-kiri in droves.

November 21: Donald Trump and his Republican allies are ‘ready to slash the federal work force, impose hiring freezes and halt automatic pay raises’.  Notice to bureaucrats at the public trough: Get a real job or starve.

November 21: Bureaucratic Tyranny in Trump’s Crosshairs.  Trump working with Cruz in the Senate can eliminate entire federal agencies and federal employee labor unions.

November 23:  To Democrats’ Dismay, Trump Will Inherit Obama’s Expanded Presidential Powers.  With a few strokes of Trump’s Executive Order pen, Zero’s entire legacy vanishes.

Have another glass of Thanksgiving wine or three fingers of Famous Grouse.  You’ve earned it….
