EUROPE’S CAMP OF THE SAINTS CRISIS: A 3-WAY STRATEGIC FULCRUM

TheCampOfTheSaints-220pxThe biggest immigration issue on the globe has very little to do with America. Its resolution will change the world.

European debates about immigration – or more accurately, the demographic replacement of local populations to benefit political elites – have been suppressed for a long time. As European economies falter, and huge waves of new refugees from the Middle East pile up on its shores, the elites are losing their ability to control the debate. Anti-immigration parties are rising, some countries are flat-out insisting on Christian refugees only, and the EU’s erasure of internal border controls is under fire. In early September 2015, Glenn “Instapundit” Reynolds did a great job laying out ongoing developments in USA Today. That’s your shot. The Gatestone Institute’s “Germany’s Muslim Demographic Revolution” is your chaser.

What these briefings don’t fully explain is why Americans need to pay attention. This “Camp of the Saints” refugee wave is a strategic fulcrum – in 3 different ways.

1: Islam. These ‘refugees,’ who are mostly Muslim, are often smuggled to Europe through affiliates or partners of The Islamic State and other jihadist organizations. While leaving several family members back in the home country as potential hostages to said groups. Hmm, I wonder what this kind of pressure could get people to do? The refugees also end up paying remittance money to the terrorists later – either directly per their escape contract, or indirectly to jihadi-affiliated middlemen when they send cash to families back home. Europe’s security services might want to get on that, but they’re totally overwhelmed by the number of combat-hardened jihadis who are returning to Europe from the same battlefields the refugees are fleeting. National governments, practicing Failure Theater, are “helpless” to stop any of it.

It’s a path to a Judenrein Europe, endless terrorism, and even mass rapes: see Rotherham, UK or Sweden. The logical end point involves civil wars that will leave huge chunks of major cities in ruins.

On the bright side, it brings in votes for left-wing parties. So, there’s that.

As things stand, Al-Qaeda’s 20-Year Plan seems ready to hit the Total Confrontation phase and include Europe more or less on schedule. That phase was planned to begin around 2017.

2. Bedrock ideology. The thing is, Europe’s elites can’t back down. Their entire equalist worldview depends on believing that all people are fundamentally the same, with no cultural or genetic differences that matter. Which is why they consider any apparent differences as evidence of foul play, with remedies that involve paying the Political Class. If they concede that differences are real re: immigration, the bedrock on which 90%+ of their programs, funding, and power rests will start to crumble. That’s way too threatening to them.

It’s an emergency, you say? Consider your own answer to: “What circumstances would make you agree to a U.S. federal gun registry?” If your answer was “none, ever,” you get that an emergency won’t matter if the power/threat stakes are high enough. Hence the recent fate of Ms. Barbro Joberger in Sweden.

3. Russia. Vladimir Putin, who is not a stupid man, is putting together a group of supportive nationalist and leftist parties across the continent. That gives Russia a key wedge to slip its messages into public opinion, while providing a quantum boost to those parties (UKIP is not one, but Hungary’s Jobbik and France’s Front Nationale are). Ideological war will be part of that, so expect new political doctrines that aim right at some very basic premises. And expect them to spread, without regard to geography.

The message to Europe is simple: solve your immigration problem. Otherwise, Putin’s friends will.

Or ISIS will.

The stakes here are really, really high – and along several axes, not just one. No matter what happens, we’ll catch some of the blowback. Then again, if our choice is a Muslim Europe or one dominated by Putin, I’ll go prep my congratulatory box of (French) Grey Goose vodka right now.

Instead of reminding us why Europeans invented the guillotine, the continent’s elites need to give us another viable choice. If they can.

UPDATES

“Refugees” continue to pour into Europe, but this is only the start. European reactions to date ensure continuation, and so will the sheer number of likely entrants. Violence is guaranteed to accompany any reversal. Also, any non-reversal.

Ground Truth

  • The Gulf Arab states aren’t taking anyone. They do need people. Just about anything worth anything there is done by people from somewhere else. But they see the “refugees” as a security risk, cloaked in human shields of varying legitimacy.
  • Germany is paying $6.6 billion for about 800,000 people in 2015, and that’s just immediate and direct costs. This works out to about $44,000 per person. One wonders that Greece doesn’t just chuck austerity and move en masse.
  • Sydney Morning Herald: “Documents scattered only metres from Serbia’s border with Hungary provide evidence that many of the migrants flooding Europe to escape war or poverty are scrapping their true nationalities and likely assuming new ones, just as they enter the European Union.”
  • Speaking of “children,” isn’t it interesting what happens when you start medically verifying ages? Contrast Sweden with Norway & Finland to see what happens to the number of “children.” Also, the photos are priceless.
  • Speaking of blending in, a Bavarian town housing ‘Syrian’ refugees has warned the local grade school girls next door to the refugee center to wear “modest clothing,” in order to avoid “discrepancies” and “misunderstandings.” Next door. This sounds like a well thought-out situation. For completeness, they should add a Discrepancy Crisis Centre on the other side.
  • Italian town councils, which are having migrants just dumped in their town squares by the federal government, are starting to refuse to take more, and the Italian Left is getting hammered in recent local elections. Meanwhile, 1/4 of the migrants have Hepatitis C, scabies is around 11%, and credible estimates of the number of people waiting in Libya range from 500,000 – 1,000,000. In 2014, 70% of Italy’s intake were nationals of Nigeria, Mali, Gambia, Senegal and Pakistan.
  • Asia Times’ ‘Spengler’, who has done work on Muslim demographics, estimates the reasonable prospective migrant pool at around 100 million.

Ideas and Reaction

  • Why Conservatives Fail #54,321. An article in The American Interest: “Europe’s Immigration Problem is Structural.” I’ll save you time. It’s a wonkfest that revolves around the E.U.’s Schengen Agreement on borderless internal movement, and winds up proposing a stronger central EU body to admit, distribute, and supervise asylum claims. So, our role is to propose formal mechanisms for the Left to enact destruction. *Sigh* …and we wonder why #cuckservative is a thing.
  • Peter Hitchens’ “We won’t save refugees by destroying our own country” is a breath of sanity, but Spiked Online’s Brendan O’Neill is better still. He explains, correctly, that Leftist could care less about policy – it’s about social signaling, and attacking an outgroup. It’s still just an article, but O’Neill’s does something that even Hitchens’ was not wise enough to do. It refuses to engage the Left’s pretexts. It engages Cultural Marxism on the actual playing field being used, unmasking the Left as devoid of any virtue right down to its impulses – and hence illegitimate, right down to its impulses. Illegitimate at its foundations. That’s the first key, the Bronze Key.
  • About those foundations… yes, Jack, envy. A big impulse. But O’Neill shows the core of the actual mechanism, which also runs on greed, pride, and wrath. Plus some lust, among those who get off on tormenting others.
  • A British poll notes that people who want to leave the E.U. have become a majority again. It’s just 51/49, but “a “significant minority” of voters who favour remaining in the EU would consider changing their minds should Europe’s migration crisis worsen.” Hmm.
  • Hungary’s Viktor Orban and his Fidesz party are veterans of unrestricted warfare against the Left (vid. “Hungary for More” section), and their actions on the ground are the most visible opposition to this invasion. See also Orban’s Sept 3rd article. More to the point, Social Matter chronicles how Fidesz secured real power – not just the legislative type – and set themselves up for this stand. You need to read it if you want to understand their different way of thinking about politics.

Europe, Islam and the New 30 Years War

As things stand, Al-Qaeda’s 20-Year Plan seems ready to hit the Total Confrontation phase and include Europe more or less on schedule. That phase was planned to begin around 2017. Current events would put initial operations well within reach by then, unless these trends reverse quite soon.

Daniel “Sultan Knish” Greenfield clarifies at the moral level:

The media howls that the Syrian refugee crisis is our fault. That is a lie…. This is an Islamic war fought to determine which branch of Islam will be supreme…. There are Christian and non-Muslim minorities who are genuine refugees, but the two Muslim sects whose militias are murdering each other are not victims, they are perpetrators.

Christians, Yezidis, et. al. have no hope, and need to be evacuated. Among the Muslims, though, it’s a 30 Years War dynamic – and Europe has just accepted that war into its own territory. Spengler, “The Price of Europe’s Fecklessness“:

Europe will have scenes of horror on its border: barbed wire, tear gas, rubber bullets, malnutrition and epidemic disease in tent camps swollen by millions of desperate people. It will also have acts of terrorism by refugees already inside its borders protesting Europe’s future refusal to accept more. The immediate future in the Middle East does not point towards stability…

No, it does not. So Europe becomes a theater and resource chest for the Muslim 30 Years War, possibly complicated by an internal war to resist colonization. If they can. A colonization that has been the Cultural Marxist dream all along. Michel Houellebecq’s novel “Submission,” with its disturbingly-plausible vision of a France ruled by a Muslim President in 2022 (via support from the Socialists and Sarkozy’s “conservative” party), is an interesting and imaginative look at how such a future might actually unfold.

Here’s the thing. Writing articles, or even books, won’t directly change anything. Ask: “What would change anything?”

I guarantee you that there are people in Europe who are taking this question seriously. If legitimacy is the Bronze Key, what’s Silver? And what’s Gold?
