HALF-FULL REPORT 05/15/15

What is going on around here?  Whatever the Pubs are drinking on Capitol Hill, they need to keep drinking it.  This week, we present the House of Good News.

*On Wednesday (5/13), the House voted overwhelmingly to end the NSA’s bulk spying on Americans’ phone calls.  This comes on the heels of a federal court ruling last week (5/07) that NSA bulk data collection is illegal.

The House bill is complicated, with many in the Senate wanting to change it.  Yet the provision in the Patriot Act that allows such NSA bulk spying expires on June 1st.  Perhaps the best solution is to just let the thing die.

*Also on Wednesday (5/13), the House passed a bill to ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. The vote was 242-184, with 4 Dems voting Y, and 4 Pubs voted N (Dent-PA, Dold-IL, Frelinghuysen-NJ, Hanna-NY).

Libertarians argue that abortion should be a state law issue, not federal – there’s no federal law against murder, for example (except of federal agents).  Every state has its own laws against homicide.

But what if some state did legalize cold-blooded murder (make it up:  it’s OK for a "person of color" to murder a white for a "microaggression")?  You’d need a fed law to ban that.  So good for the House for passing the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.

*Yesterday (5/14), the House voted to cancel Zero’s illegal immigrant Dreamer path via military service.  Dems were attempting to get this part of Zero’s Amnesty agenda piggybacked on to the annual defense bill, but the Pubs (with 20 exceptions) were having no part of it.  This was a courageous vote.

*And also yesterday (5/14), Speaker John Boehner showed the world how to deal with The Lying Swine.

Immediately after the deadly Amtrak crash on Tuesday (5/12), Demtards wasted no time politicizing it, using the tragedy to call for more government.  Thus during Boehner’s press conference on the tragedy, libtard reporter Ginger Gibson of the International Business Times tried to pull a "gotcha," asking if lack of GOP funding wasn’t responsible for the accident.

Boehner cut her off in mid-question, looked her right in the eye, and asked her:  "Are you really going to ask such a stupid question?"

He really said that – you can watch the video in the link.  He went on:  "Listen, you know they (meaning Dems ) started this yesterday. ‘It’s all about funding. It’s all about funding,’ Well, obviously it’s not about funding. The train was going twice the speed limit!"

After a few more acerbic observations, he concluded, "It’s hard for me to imagine that people take the bait on some of the nonsense that gets spewed around here."  And with that, he ended the questions and walked off the podium.

That’s the way all Pubs (especially those running for the White House) and all conservative pundits should treat The Lying Swine now.  Way to go, John!!

More good news in the Karma Payback department:  Tuesday (5/12) – Obama Accused of Being Sexist by Chairwoman of NOW.

In the I’m-As-Shocked-As-Claude-Rains department is this poll released on Monday (5/11): Democrats now view socialism as favorably as they view capitalism. As? As??  When have Democrats ever viewed capitalism favorably?  Certainly not in the last 82 years, since FDR launched his trash-the-Constitution New Deal Socialism in 1933.  What a ridiculous dog-bites-man non-news story.

In the App-You’ve-Been-Waiting-For department, there’s KardBlock.  The developers are coding for an Adblock that specifically blocks any site that mentions the Kardashians – the ultimate expression of people famous for nothing – no talent, no artistic ability, nothing at all – except for being famous.

Let’s hope KardBlock includes all members of this impossibly annoying family, particularly Bruce Jenner.  Like everything else he’s done trying to cash in on his one Olympic achievement 49 years ago, his going "transgender" — pretending he wants to be the world’s most repulsive-looking woman — is all in a pathological pursuit of publicity.

KardBlock is in beta-testing, but it may be publicly available – for free – as soon as next week.  A Kardashian-free life may be just days away.  Next up – BieberBlock for no talent boytoy Justin Bieber, and CyrusBlock.  For if there is anyone on earth more annoying than Kimye et al, it’s Miley Cyrus.

Okay, back to reality.  The HFR’s 2016 vote will go to the candidate who pledges – with no ifs and buts – to abolish the federal Department of Education.  Zero-out its $70+ billion budget and $28 billion in grants, sell its buildings and equipment, give its 5,000 employees remedial education to find work elsewhere, and shut it down.

There are endless examples of why this must be done to resurrect decent education in our country.  Three appeared within the last few days.  Connecting the dots between them is DoEd funding, rules, and controls.

Tuesday (5/12) – A Classroom Full of White Students Is A Microagression.  "Students of color" feel "uncomfortable" in such a place, so they must be given racist dispensations while whites must be made to feel guilty over their "white privilege."

Thursday (5/14) – Oakland School Students Who Act Up, Mouth Off Won’t Be Suspended.  Reason?  "Minority students are disproportionately punished for disobedience."  Teachers now get to be subjected to a continuous nightmare of the most horrifically vile verbal abuse by teenage mortards (moral retards).  Think the Teachers Union will stand up for them?

Thursday (5/14) – Student Told His American Flag Is "Offensive" at South Carolina High School.  Student Peyton Robinson was informed by his principal that the flag he flew on the back of his pickup truck had to be removed, because "some people complained" about it, finding it "offensive."

That was Wednesday, and Peyton decided he would not obey.  Instead, he sent out an Instagram post, saying: "I have every right to fly an American flag. It will not be coming off of my truck. I ask that everyone that sees this post that attends York Comprehensive flies an American flag of some sort on whatever they may drive to school tomorrow."

So many folks, veterans, and fellow students showed up with flags on their cars and trucks the next morning the principal quickly backed down.  By refusing to obey, and generating a demonstration of peaceful civil disobedience, this 18 year-old kid got his school system’s bureaucracy with their PC anti-American fascism to surrender in less than 24 hours.

Just three of the latest reasons federal intrusion into education must end.  Meanwhile… Peyton Robinson is the HFR Hero of the Week.

In the Israel-Leads-The-Way department:  Yesterday (5/14) – Israel to Illegal Immigrants: Go Back to Africa or Go To Prison.

Israel is currently experiencing a flood of illegals from Eritrea, Sudan, and other African countries.  The policy just announced is: accept $3500 in cash and a one-way ticket back home (or other African country) – or go to jail in the middle of a barren desert.  That’s in addition to building a solid border fence and denying them both work permits and welfare payments.

It’s a lesson Europe needs to learn – fast, for the flood of Africans landing on its Mediterranean shores is becoming a tsunami.  It’s a lesson a certain nation in North America also needs to learn – does any nation come to mind?

We worry about America’s future with good reason.  But there are also good reasons for optimism as well.  Here’s a great example.

Last Saturday (5/09), the London Daily Mail had a story about a map of the world. Using the autocomplete feature of Google, a cost-estimating company ran an exhaustive meta-search of Google searches with the question, "How much does [X object] cost in [X country]?"

The map produced shows what people of countries around the world most want to buy.  The top Google search in Brazil, for example, is the cost of prostitutes.  For Chile – and for Turkey, a Moslem country – it’s beer.  In New Zealand, vasectomies.  In Mauritania it’s slaves, Saudi Arabia it’s camels.  And so on.

Now what do you suppose that Americans most want to buy?  Patents.  Let that sink in.  Look at the Map of What the World Wants to Buy and see for yourself.

As the IBD notes, "If that’s not a loud signal of American exceptionalism, what is?  It highlights an intense culture of innovation, and great dreams of wealth-creation based on making lives better. It speaks splendidly well for our country and there is pretty much nothing like it anywhere else."

There is more creativity, more innovation, and more desire to capitalize on both in America than anywhere else on the planet by far.  In this, we leave China in the dust.

Out of all the countless examples to choose, here’s one.  This is a new Tesla assembly plant in Fremont, California.  Not in China nor Europe nor anywhere else – only in America.

All we need to do at this moment in history, is to harness our unmatched capacity for creativity and innovation to get our freedom back.  Certainly not unattainable.

We’ll close with another example of American ingenuity and insight that you’ll find fascinating, funny, and mind-bending thoughtful.  Here’s The Bike You Can’t Ride…
