NO, MR. PRESIDENT, ISLAM IS A RELIGION OF VIOLENCE, NOT PEACE!

"Allahu Akbar!" (God is greater), shouted the terrorists who attacked the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo. "We have avenged the Prophet Mohammed."

The terrorists weren’t Moslems, because Islam is a religion of peace, said President Barack Obama. The United States needs to "redouble" efforts to explain "what the tenets of Islam actually are," said White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest.

"Islam teaches peace," the president said at the UN last September. "Islam" means peace, he and like-minded liberals often have said.

No it doesn’t, said Anjem Choudary, imam of a mosque in London.

"Islam does not mean peace but rather means submission to the commands of Allah alone," Mr. Choudary writes in USA Today (1/07). "Therefore, Moslems do not believe in the concept of freedom of expression, as their speech and actions are determined by divine revelation and not based on people’s desires."

Moslems are obliged to defend the honor of the Prophet, he said, citing the Sura (verse) in the Koran which says: "Whoever insults a Prophet kill him."

"There is a place for violence in Islam," Imam Choudary said in a 2010 interview. "Jihad is the most talked about duty in the Koran other than Tawhid (belief). "Nothing else is mentioned more than the topic of fighting."

Sura 8:39 says: "Make war on (unbelievers) until idolatry is no more and Allah’s religion reigns supreme." At least 108 other verses call Moslems to war with nonbelievers for the sake of Islamic rule, according to the Religion of Peace web site.

Islam was spread by the sword throughout Mesopotamia, the Levant, Central Asia, much of India, North Africa, Spain and the Balkans. Europe is (sorta kinda) Christian today only because Charles Martel (the Hammer) prevailed at Tours (732 AD), Don Juan at Lepanto (1571), Jan Sobieski at the siege of Vienna (1683).

"The Islamic conquest of India is probably the bloodiest story in history," wrote the historian Will Durant. Moslems may have murdered as many as 80 million people on the Indian subcontinent, said Belgian historian Koenraad Elst.

Adherents of other religions proselytized with the sword too, but not nearly as much as Moslems have, and the others stopped long ago. No Christians, Jews, Hindus, or Buddhists seek to establish a worldwide religious dictatorship.

He isn’t a Moslem, President Obama says. So why does he think he’s more of an authority than Imam Choudary on "the true tenets of Islam?" Why does he think it’s his job to explain them to Americans?

No Founding Father was a Moslem, or thought much of Islam. So of what could Mr. Obama have been thinking when he hailed the "many achievements and contributions of Moslem Americans to building the very fabric of our nation?"

Most of the world’s 1.6 billion Moslems don’t share the Islamists’ goal, or their murderous means.  But many do. Big majorities polled by Pew in 2013 favored imposition of sharia (Islamic law) in their countries. In a Pew poll in 2011, a third of Palestinians, a fifth of Egyptians expressed confidence in Osama bin Laden.

Islamists are heretics, many Moslem scholars have said. But their terror is motivated by what they think is their religious duty — for which they can find support in blood-curdling passages of the Koran and the Hadith. To deny this is dangerous nonsense that’s getting people killed.

"Perhaps the West will finally put away its legion of useless tropes trying to deny the relationship between violence and radical Islam," said former Moslem Ayaan Hirsi Ali after the Charlie Hebdo massacre.

"The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam," President Obama said at the UN in 2012.

No, Mr. President, the future must not belong to those who kill people who say things they deem offensive.

The president’s job isn’t to protect Moslems from hurt feelings. But Mr. Obama seems "more interested in preserving the fiction these terrorist attacks have nothing to do with Islam than protecting the rest of us from them," said Prof. Abraham Miller. "In this, he fails in his most fundamental obligation as president."

As he has in everything else.
