HALF-FULL REPORT 09/19/14

Vince Lombardi was wrong when he quoted UCLA coach Red Sanders, that "Winning isn’t everything, it’s the only thing."

That’s because he was applying it to sports, which has rules and referees which and who must be obeyed.  Would Lombardi have ever bribed a referee to make sure the Packers won a game?  Most any Packers fan would vehemently say no.  And looking back on how Lombardi conducted his life, you would have to say that integrity, for him, did indeed trump winning to the expense of all other values.

It’s mortally different, however, in a street fight, where either you win or you’re dead.  In a street fight where there are no rules, winning is indeed the only thing that matters.

Right now and for the next 46 days until November 4, we are in a street fight for the life of America.  Which is why Ann Coulter said yesterday (9/18) that the only thing that matters right now is winning the Senate.  She’s right.  There’s no possible way to even slow down Zero’s commitment for America’s demise with Harry Reid still Majority Leader for the next two years.

The two most critical races for her are Kansas and New Hampshire – thus she begs for all of us to support Pat Roberts and Scott Brown however much we can.  What she’s especially disgusted by are the threats posed by Libertarian candidates siphoning off enough votes in Kentucky, Kansas, North Carolina and Colorado:

"When we’re all dying from lack of health care across the United States of Mexico, we’ll be deeply impressed with your integrity, libertarians."

What she missed was Louisiana.  It holds a "jungle primary" on Nov.4, and only if one candidate gets over 50% does he or she win.  If not, then there’s a runoff between the top two on Dec. 6.  Which is why two Fox News polls came out ereyesterday (9/17).  The first polls the top two candidates alone:  Pub Rep. Bill Cassidy at 51%, Dem Sen. Mary Landrieu at 38%.  Such a poll would be disastrous for an incumbent.

But the second polls an additional Pub candidate, Rob Maness.  That shows Cassidy at 35%, Landrieu at 31%, Maness at 7%.

It doesn’t matter anymore that Maness – whose bio and campaign material tirelessly calls him "Colonel Maness" for his Air Force service – is more conservative than Cassidy, is a vet, is a good nice guy, or what other admirable qualities he has.  All that matters is winning, and he no longer has any chance whatever of beating Cassidy and getting into a runoff with Landrieu.  All he can do at this point is prevent Cassidy from getting to 50.1% on Nov. 4.

Which means if Maness is a real patriot and not an egomaniacal phony one, he’ll now drop out and back Cassidy to ensure Landrieu’s loss with no runoff.

Which means that while it’s understandable that Sarah Palin endorsed Maness as the Tea Party candidate last May, she should switch her endorsement to Cassidy now. 

With Maness in, a runoff is all but assured.  And if continued Dem control of the Senate depends on Landrieu winning, that runoff will be the most vicious Dem campaign ever conducted – the Dems will do anything necessary to destroy Cassidy.  Winning really is the only thing that matters to them.  It isn’t for us and that’s why we lose.

Man up, Col. Maness. Take one for America.  Talk to him, Sarah.  Help him do the right thing.

Time for a little self-backpatting.  The HFR called it last week (9/12):  "The pound is up, bouncing back with the Scotland Scare over.  Looks like Scotland will reject independence next week (9/18)."

With voter turnout at 85%, Scots resoundingly rejected independence from England 55% to 45%, keeping its 307 union that created the United Kingdom intact.  Alex Salmond, the fish-eyed socialist leader of the Indie movement, who promised Scots a life on Easy Welfare Street paid for with North Sea oil if they’d vote Yes, is history. 

So also, at least for quite a while, are all the other secessionist movements in Europe, like the Catalans in Spain.  Barcelona is a wonderful place, but if you’ve been there recently, you know how insufferable they can be if you dare speak Spanish and not their (slightly different) tongue that no one knows except them.  Maybe now they’ll shut up.

Those backpats feel good.  Another is for predicting the continuing slide of the Russian ruble and economy.  Thus this week (9/16) the headline was:  Moscow Warns Against Panic as Ruble Plunges to Historic Lows.  The sanctions are biting the Putin Huilo in the but-tocks (as Forrest Gump would say).

Compounding the bad news (good news for us) is a host of threats by ISIS to "liberate Chechnya and all the Caucasus" from Russia.  Lots of Chechens are getting their "terrorist field training" with ISIS, and will now be bringing their skills back to their homeland. 

Chechnya is one of a half-dozen regions of the Russian North Caucasus with a predominately Moslem population:

And then there’s Moscow itself – fully one-third of the people living in Russia’s capital are Moslem.  Of the city’s 12 million, 2 million are Moslem residents, another 2 million are living illegally without a residency permit.  You can expect ISIS terror to break out there soon, with the North Caucasus and Middle Volga to follow.

And as predicted in the HFR earlier this month (9/05), the UN Climate Summit next Tuesday (9/23) will be a disaster.  The headline:  Obama’s Lonely Climate Summit – World Leaders Are Staying Home.

That includes Canada’s Stephen Harper, Australia’s Tony Abbott, India’s Narendra Modi, China’s Xi Jinpeng, and Germany’s Angela Merkel.  Oh, but the leaders of Togo and Kirbati will be there – hat in hand, demanding "the rich countries" give them billions to protect them from "carbon pollution."

My suggestion is for them to shove their begging bowls into Leonardo DiCaprio‘s face and demand he write them all 7-figure checks from his own pocket.  After all, it’s the least he can do, as on Tuesday (9/16) he was designated an official "UN Messenger of Peace for Climate Change."  It’s likely to be the only money they’ll get.

Meanwhile, the Zero Madness continues in DC.

On Monday (9/15), he announced he wants to send 3,000 US soldiers to Liberia to somehow combat the Ebola virus.

My reaction is the same as I’m sure yours is:  WHAT!!???  No boots on the ground in Iraq to kill Moslem crazies beheading Americans and threatening terrorism in America – but put them in countries with a raging lethal epidemic so they can contract it and die and/or bring it back home?

Yes, better to stop the Ebola spread there than after it arrives here — but with military troops?  Very few troops have the training to deal with highly contagious diseases.  Yes, some have nominal training in precautions against biological warfare, but that is training in force protection, not in medical treatment of potentially infected civilians. 

All our soldiers can accomplish is to use military force to enforce quarantines – that is, shoot and kill civilians who try to escape from quarantined areas.  That will surely make America popular in West Africa.  And get our soldiers killed in revenge.

Yesterday (9/18), villagers in Guinea murdered 8 members of an Ebola health team from the capital, Conakry, who were trying to teach them how to protect themselves from the virus.

Guinea is 85% Moslem.  I got into a shoving match with this jerk who told me I couldn’t take pictures of the big mosque in Conakry a couple of years ago.  I told him to get lost, I was taking pics of the outside from a distance, not inside.  He tried to block my leaving the courtyard, I shoved him out of the way, others were about to join in when my friend, Jerry Finn stood at my side and they all decided they didn’t want to take on two large gringos willing to fight.

Yet, Guineans are "Folk Moslems" – memorized quotes from the Koran interlaced with animist superstitions.  They live in a world populated with envious demons and spirits out to get them. So they think that Ebola is caused by demons who must be placated — and one way to do so is slit the throats of outsiders who deny and insult the demons and spirits.

It would be easy, however, for power-hungry Imams to blame Ebola on the infidel American soldiers who are making them sick by insulting Allah and the spirits.  We’re dealing with very primitive minds here – Guinea has an average IQ of 66, Sierra Leone 64.  Liberia’s is 67. 

Sending thousands of American soldiers there to fight a disease they think is caused by demons is criminally insane.  Even more insane is putting the State Department, not the Pentagon, in charge of the soldiers.  The hearing on Capitol Hill on this Wednesday (9/17) was a meltdown by officials under Congressional interrogation.

Now for the big question, asked by IBD:  If protecting us from Ebola far away in Africa is so panic-button-pushing important, why is Zero doing nothing or saying anything about "the strange new diseases now spreading and infecting Americans here, which at least one prominent U.S. doctor says may be spread by illegal aliens now in our country with zero health care screening as part of Obama’s open borders policy"?

The IBD editorial is the single most important must-read of the week.  Suddenly, since Zero opened the flood gates for an invasion of illegals, a mysterious enterovirus is hospitalizing children across the country. Yesterday (9/18) it had spread to California. Yet no official from ZeroLand wants to say a word about it.

As the IBD says, "An unguarded border, a welcome-mat approach to illegals, well developed smuggling networks, and zero medical screening are virtually a guarantee of the spread of new diseases."  Zero’s frantic focus on Ebola while ignoring diseases brought by Latino illegals is "a wag-the-dog bid to divert public attention from the president’s other political problems, and a pander for the Latino vote."

The Curse of Zero continues unabated.

Let’s try to close with some good news.

On Wednesday, the House voted 333-92 to audit the Fed.  That’s way beyond veto-proof (292).  Reid will block it of course in the Senate – yet another reason why all that counts politically now is winning the Senate.

Debbie Dimwit – the DNC Chairbozo – is toast.  The WaPo stands amazed at "the wholesale bashing of Wasserman Schultz at every level of the party — White House, Congress, donors, aides in her own shop." Wonderful.

And poor wittle BarBox.  The diminutive DemFascist was rendered "shaking and trembling" after the verbal spanking Sen. Bob Corker gave Lurch over his incomprehensible testimony on Wednesday (9/17).  If you can’t handle the heat, get the hell out of the Senate kitchen, Senator Chihuahua.  You’ve well earned what your colleagues call you: "Dumb-as-a-box-of rocks Boxer."

And lastly, one of the last remaining real journalists in America, Sharyl Attkisson, on Monday (9/15) dropped The Benghazi Bombshell: that Hillary’s aides hid documents showing her culpability.

Naturally, the Enemedia – like Politico – ignored the bombshell, but you can bet Trey Gowdy won’t.  After Gowdy gets through with her, the PIAPS can kiss 2016 goodbye.

Can’t resist closing with the Funniest Story of the Week – provided by those crazy Brits.  It’s about a prostitute – Charlotte Rose – who boasts of having sex with over 1,000 men and won the Sex Worker of the Year Award, is running for election to the British Parliament.  She charges $300 an hour for "professional sex," and is campaigning for better sex education in schools.

She will end up (can’t resist) flat on her back in defeat by UKIP candidate Douglas Carswell.  But, good luck anyway, Charlotte.
