HALF FULL REPORT 05/16/14

My first email early this morning (5/16) was to congratulate TTPer Karma Singh.  You’ve been reading his reports on India, the last one being India’s Ronald Reagan (4/30/14).

The results of history’s largest election – well over 500 million ballots cast – were announced today, giving India’s Ronald Reagan – Narendra Modi – a stunningly massive victory.

The great flaw in parliamentary democracies is the rarity of a governing majority.  Imagine the US government with no President and Executive Branch, no Senate, just the House.  Then imagine that instead of two parties, there are one or two dozen – some weird and fringy but their candidates get elected.

In such a system, the Speaker of the House runs the government as Prime Minister.  He has to cobble a majority of House seats together by forming often-bizarre alliances between his party and other parties, because his party doesn’t have a majority of seats.  He does this by placing these other parties (including the weird ones) in charge of various government ministries.

As there is no Executive Branch, a Parliamentary Cabinet is composed of Congressmen (MPs, Members of Parliament) designated as Ministers (we call them Secretaries).  It’s as if Ed Royce (R-CA), Chairman of House Foreign Affairs, was Secretary of State, or Buck McKeon (R-CA), Chairman of House Armed Services, was Secretary of Defense.

Except that Prime Minister Boehner would have to ladle out ministries to other and often weird parties, or he can’t form a governing coalition.  What a mess – and most parliamentary democracies are just that.

But an electoral miracle has occurred in India.  The world’s most divided and fractious electorate has given an absolute majority of seats to one party.  272 seats are needed for such a majority in the 543-seat parliament, and Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party – BJP – has now won 283.  Combined with his coalition of parties who agreed in advance to vote with BJP – the National Democratic Alliance or NDA – Modi now has a supermajority of 337.

The corrupt Congress Party, which has monopolized power in India for most of the last 67 years, had its clock cleaned, winning but 43 seats.  A gaggle of small regional or single-issue parties who fight amongst each other gained 144.  Modi has a mandate to govern India as strong as Nehru’s Congress Party in the 1950s.

Nehru was a Third World Socialist who ruined India’s economy.  Modi is and will do the opposite. India has much to be proud of today and much to look forward to.  Now we in America must hope that we’ll follow in India’s footsteps and elect a pro-capitalist pro-freedom pro-patriotism government, starting this November.

************

We certainly won’t be taking those steps by electing an immoral idiot like Jeb Bush as president.

He started the week on Monday (5/12) by telling a New York audience of crony capitalists he would be President Amnesty.  He sneered at his pro-legality opponents as being "fearful of our own heritage, our own history" – which happens to be one of America’s creation, not its disintegration by Mexican illegals wanting the US Southwest to become part of Mexico.

He actually described illegal immigration as an "act of love."  There’s another more appropriate way to describe it, and that is illegal immigration and its advocates are screwing America.

Then on Wednesday (5/14), he exceeded this egregiousness by telling an audience in Florida that as president, he would "govern like Lyndon Johnson."   This is beyond disgusting, beyond stupidity.

Johnson was so revolting and ruthless that Jacqueline Kennedy, Richard Nixon, and LBJ’s personal swindler Billie Sol Estes all believed, along with many others, that Johnson ordered and organized the assassination of JFK.

His presidency was a catastrophic disaster.  While Lyndon Johnson was getting thousands of American soldiers (the finest Baby Boomers, the opposite of the hippie Woodstockers) killed in a war he had no intention whatever of winning, he  embarked on a Great Society explosion of unconstitutional government expansion and intrusion into our lives.

And that was its purpose.  His "War on Poverty" was conducted not to do anything about poverty – that was just the fascist rationale – but to manufacture a totally phony "crisis" as an excuse to expand the power of the Democrat Fascist Party.

Lyndon Johnson was a vile evil man.  That Jeb Bush aspires to be like him means he is beyond the pale of  decency.  Say goodbye to 2016, Jeb.

You read about The Law That Can Put Obama In Jail this week (5/15).  Breitbart is now reporting that the Department of Agriculture intends to purchase a significant number of combat-ready submachine guns with 30-round magazines.

Is there a specific House appropriation allowing this expenditure?  Is there any Congressional appropriation funding an Agricultural Department Army?  If not, the same law that can put Zero in jail can put Ag Secretary Tom Vilsak in jail.  The sooner he and his boss are the better.

No question whatever that the absolute Must Read of the Week is Eliot Cohen’s bullseye essay in the Wall Street Journal (5/12):

A Selfie-Taking Hashtagging Teenage Administration

************

Eliot cites, as an example that our country is governed by self-absorbed adolescents, the May 3rd cover of the London Economist, What Would America Fight For?

Certainly not to help the freedom fighters of Ukraine struggling against Russian gangster imperialism.  Certainly not to liberate over 200 Christian girls being sold into slavery by Moslem barbarians in Nigeria.  Certainly not to stop the Chicom seizure of the South China Sea.  And certainly not to protect our southern border from illegal invasion.

But Democrats gave up their desire to protect and defend America 42 years ago when their party was taken over by Hippie McGovern Marxists in 1972.

The real question to ask, the punch in the solar plexus question is:  What Would Americans Fight For?

Every day in every way now, our culture is being destroyed.  From the militarization and gangsterification of local police departments (every town/city above 25,000 has a SWAT Team now), to swarms of federalies harassing anyone they want with blizzards of regulations, to the IRS persecuting conservatives, to the "gay gestapo" harassing everyone and even politicizing sports with their despotic agenda, to an endless succession of scandals anyone one of which would ruin an Administration but the Enemedia refuses to report, to the presidency of a totalitarian narcissist no one would have voted for if he were white instead of black…. How much of this can we take?

When do Americans say "Enough!" and start disobeying the edicts of an unconstitutional outlaw regime?  I have no answer to this.  I’d have bet the breaking point would have been reached long ago.  Yet with each new outrage – the latest being 36,007 illegal alien criminals released on the streets, announced this week (5/15), Americans just keep whimpering and taking it.

Will they stop taking it on November 4th?  But that’s just Washington.  What about the Gestapo SWAT Team in your own community, or your local school board saluting the LGBT agenda?  That’s where to start.  What’s crazily counter-productive is promising 30 million people will show up on the Washington Mall today (5/16) to overthrow the US Government.

This is the prediction of something called Operation American Spring, with goals so ludicrous you’d think it’s run by agents provocateur.  It’s no surprise at all that’s it’s being lampooned by the Enemedia as the "million moron march."  As I’m writing this, there are a few folks out on the Mall – but it’s 4 or 5 orders of magnitude smaller than predicted.  This is not the way to get our America back from the fascists who stole it.

************

Before we get to the Hero of the Week, let’s reveal the Anti-Hero.  That would be Warren Buffett.  On Tuesday (5/13), FoxNews reported that he has given $1.2 billion to pro-abortion groups.  That’s billion with a ‘b’ – read the story and it will make you sick.  I had no idea that the "Oracle of Omaha" was so depraved.  From now on, he should be known as the Ogre of Omaha.

************

Giving the Ogre heartburn this week is the official RNC (Republican National Committee) Resolution supporting banning abortions after 20 weeks.  The proposed legislation is the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.  Note that it has 40 co-sponsors in the Senate.  Note also that Demented Harry Reid will not allow a vote on the bill.

20 weeks – it’s a good place to start.  It’s politically astute, because it agrees with the masses of women voters who lean Republican yet insist they have a "right to choose" – yet provides an argument-clinching caveat:  Yes, you have a right to choose, but there must be a time limit to the choice.

20 weeks is more than enough time.  I’d prefer 12, but 20’s a start.  The legislation will pass in the Reid-less 114th Congress, quite possibly with enough votes to override Zero’s veto.

************

I’ve got to bring this HFR to a close now, as, believe it or not, I’m flying back to Africa tonight.  I’ll leave you with the scariest news of the week.  It’s that Canadian meteorologists are predicting a cool, cold summer.

Why is that so scary?  It’s because what causes Ice Ages is not cold winters, it’s cold summers.  As Scripps Oceanographic Institute professor of earth sciences Douglas MacDougall explains in Frozen Earth: The Once and Future Story of the Ice Ages, cold summers don’t melt the snow and ice of the previous winter.  This triggers the build up of ice packs, caps, and glaciers.

The Medieval Warm Period, from 900 to 1300 AD, ended when warm summers ended, and for the next 550 years we had the Little Ice Age.  Luckily, we’ve been warming since 1850.  But the Earth is still in the Pleistocene that started 2½ million years ago, and hasn’t ended.  We’re simply in an Interglacial – a short period of warm weather between Ice Ages.

Let’s hope our Interglacial – called the Holocene – won’t end soon.  It could at any time.  Global Warming is total bunk.  It’s Global Freezing that’s the real danger.

************

Oh… who is the HFR Hero of the Week?  Who else but India’s Narendra Modi.  Let’s wish him well in his goal of bringing capitalist freedom and prosperity to India, and of enabling an India strong enough to stand up to Chicom imperialism.  And let’s hope America finds its own Modi – soon.
