THE REVOLUTION OF 2014

This could be what I call a "FS Year" – like Sinatra sings in It Was A Very Good Year, 2014 could "pour sweet and clear" for freedom in America, if only we take advantage of the opportunity history is handing us.

Pick your metaphor or adage.  The setup for a political "perfect storm," an epic "correlation of forces," an ideal example of "the greater the danger, the greater the opportunity" is here before us.

We have a chance at victory on not just one, but on both of our country’s most important battlefields.  The stakes couldn’t be higher.  Which means if we blow it this year, surmounting 2016 will be as hard as climbing Everest without oxygen.

One is the battlefield in the War between Freedom and Fascism.  The Constitution vs. the Fascist Nanny Police State. Makers vs. Moochers, Producers vs. Parasites.  Pioneers of the Future vs. Prison Guards of the Past.  Reason, Decency, and Sanity vs. Thuggishness, Depravity, and Lunacy.  Prosperity vs. Power, Real Capitalism vs. Phony-Crony Capitalism.  Pro-Life vs. Anti-Life.  Pro-America vs. Anti-America.

In Washington, this war is supposed to be waged between Republicans on the side of Freedom, and Democrats on the side of Fascism.  As we know, this only applies to the Democrat side.  Thus the second battlefield – that’s in the War between Patriots and Weenies within the Republican Party.

This war has been ongoing for a long time.  Fifty years ago this Friday (January 3, 1964), Barry Goldwater announced his candidacy for the presidency by declaring he was not a "me-too Republican," and would offer "a choice not an echo."  He stated what that choice would be:

"I’ve always stood for government that is limited and balanced and against the ever increasing concentrations of authority in Washington. I’ve always stood for individual responsibility and against regimentation.  I believe we must now make a choice in this land and not continue drifting endlessly down and down for a time when all of us, our lives, our property, our hopes, and even our prayers will become just cogs in a vast government machine."

Goldwater made it clear how he despised the white-flag weenies of the GOP Establishment – who of course joined forces with the Enemedia to demagogue and demonize his candidacy.  Americans tragically and stupidly made their choice against freedom in 1964 and his prediction has now come nightmarishly true.

There have only been two actual non-establishment conservative GOP presidential candidates in the last half-century, Goldwater and Reagan.  To have any chance that we’ll get a third in 2016 – say, Ted Cruz or Rand Paul -we have to take out the Rove-Boehner Establishment first.

We have no choice in this because they have declared war on us.  We saw this when Rove and the RNC abandoned Ken Cuccinelli at the critical time when he could have secured victory for the Virginia governorship.  Last week, Breitbart reported that Rove’s American Crossroads is "reloading" its efforts to destroy Tea Party challengers to GOP Rinos.

Joining Rove will be the US Chamber of Crony Capitalism, which has announced it will be spending $50 million to crush Tea Party GOP candidates.

So it’s do or die.  Grass-roots conservatives, Tea Partyers, patriots of all stripes had better get determined to crush Rove, the USCCronyC, the Boehner-Ryan-McCain Amnesty Cabal, and the whole White Flag Weenie GOP Establishment.

This has started.  The New York Times (12/23) is reporting that "at least a dozen Super-Pacs" are now funding Tea Party candidates against Rove-backed weenie ones.

The most interesting news here comes from Dr. Theda Skocpol – she’s the Victor S. Thomas Professor of Government and Sociology at Harvard University, and as such a flaming regressive.  On Sunday (12/26), she issued a lengthy warning to the regressive readers of The Atlantic, explaining Why The Tea Party Isn’t Going Anywhere.  I urge you to read it entire.

Not only are Tea Partyers and patriot activists here to stay, she argues, but they can have more clout over local, state, and national politics than the big business "moderates" of the GOP Establishment.  The "anti-government extremism" of the Tea Party will triumph, she warns, if regressives don’t work with moderates to stop it.

Well, that triumph is exactly what we want.  That Prof. Skocpol is scared means that we can achieve it.

That we can achieve it in tandem with a triumph over the Fascism of Zero – winning both battles – is possible with the  collapse of Zerocare.  As Al Jolson would say, if you think the Zerocare Debacle has been bad so far, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet.  This is going to be the greatest political meltdown of our lifetimes.

It’s not that the bloom is off Zero’s rose, so he’s unable to smooth talk his way out of this.  As Peter Wehner in Commentary explains (12/27),  Obama’s Tedious Act Has Grown Old and Stale.

The key issue is that the farcical failure of regressive liberalism to seize control of healthcare in America can cause the collapse of regressive liberalism as a philosophy of government.

The entire Regressive agenda of the Left and the Democrat Party can be brought down over this failure.  You don’t get more basic than ruining millions of people’s health and medical care.  Such ruination is totally 100% the creation and fault of Democrats – not one single Pub in Congress voted for it.

It’s wise, as Laura Ingraham advised on Fox the other night, for Pubs not to put all their election eggs in the Zerocare Failure basket.  But she didn’t explain what another basket was.  That’s to use this humungously horrific disaster to discredit the entire rationale for regressive liberalism.  To use it as a turning point to start getting America’s constitutional freedoms back.

Where both these great battles come together is that only Tea Party Constitutionalist candidates can make this argument, and take advantage of this historic opportunity for such a turning point.  The great majority of Republican and Independent voters know full well that the Boehner-Ryan-McConnell-McCain white flag weenies and their phony-crony capitalist supporters are part of the problem, not the solution.

So – as John Wayne said in The Sands of Iwo Jima, "Saddle up!"  The battle is upon us.  The Revolution of 2014 has begun.  We can win this.  We can take this hill, and plant the flag of freedom atop the Mount Suribachi of Fascism.  This could be a very good year.
