Where’s the pony?

Ronald Reagan was fond of describing an optimist as a kid on a farm happily digging through a huge pile of horse manure, yelling, "There’s got to be a pony in here somewhere!"  What would he say about a week, or a time like this?  Knowing him, I think he’d say, "Well, sometimes there just isn’t any pony."

Reviewing the giant pile of horse apples that is the news this week brought a pop group from the early 60s called The Shirelles to mind. All us kids back then knew their hits like "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?"  Their 1961 hit that I woke up this morning hearing in my mind was this:

 
 
Yes, there will be days like this.  But three more years of days like this??  One thousand ninety-eight more days?  (See the Countdown Clock to the end of the Zero Presidency.)

And realize there is a high probability that those 1098 days are going to be progressively worse.  With each passing day and week and month, we’re going to have more fascism, more unemployment, more dependency, more cultural depravity, more corruption, more crony capitalism, more liberal hate, more Enemedia lying and cover-ups of Zero scandals, more persecution of Tea Partyers, and more surrender to America’s enemies like Iran and the Chicoms.

All this because it’s what Zero wants.  Yesterday (1/16), Michael Reagan wrote a column, "Our Clueless President."  It is Michael who is clueless and naïve, not Zero.  No jobs and no economic recovery is Zero’s agenda.  He is doing all of the above on purpose.  It is mind-boggling that Ronald Reagan’s son is so clueless and naïve not to understand this.

So – how can we possibly stand it?    What in the Diety’s name are we going to do? 

First, we’ll review how grim it’s been this week.  Then we’ll discuss six alternatives to dealing with it.  (No fair skipping ahead, but one of them is following the advice of Josey Wales.)

We’ll call this The Zero and Rino Horror Story. 

On Monday (1/13), Boehner introduced an "Omnibus" $1.1 Trillion dollar spending bill that was 1,582 pages long.  Without hardly a single Congresscritter having the time to read it, Boehner held a vote on it Wednesday (1/15).  It passed,  359 to 67.

It was written in secret behind closed doors.  No debate was allowed, no amendments could be introduced, Members had 48 hours to attempt to comprehend it.  Yet 166 Republicans voted for it anyway.  This is beyond insanity.  To complete how grotesque this is, note in the link that the Bill Title of HR 3457 authorizing one trillion 100 billion dollars of taxpayer money is:

"To extend the application of certain space launch liability provisions through 2014"

Last night,  the Senate passed HR 3457 by a vote of 72-26.  17 Republicans voted for it.  Ted Cruz was not one of them, but he didn’t put up a fight.  What’s the point when you have 183 (166+17) of your colleagues defecting to the other side?

The really bad news in this vote is that the Tea Party is dead.  Heritage is dead.  Club for Growth is dead.  Cato is dead.  The entire movement for constitutional sanity and spending is dead.  If 166 out of 233 House Pubs (71%) could care less about how all these groups feel, then they’re dead.

Breitbart itemizes the Tea Party outrage, to which those 183 Congress Pubs shrug and say, "So what?"

Which is why, as the Wall Street Journal headlined yesterday (1/16, a day after the House Omnibus vote): GOP House Leaders Set To Embrace Amnesty for Illegal Aliens.  The US Chamber of Crony Commerce is paying them to, and they just don’t care what Tea Partyers think – period.

Over the weekend (1/11), the CS Monitor ran a Lo-Fo story, "Mystery: Why Are Adults Dropping Out of the Work Force?"  You’d think the USCCC would be focused on things like explaining why this is no mystery at all.  They could have had a press conference with Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) – who has just put up a photo on his Facebook page of the 2013 Federal Register containing "over 80,000 pages of new rules, regulations, and notices all written and passed by unelected bureaucrats."

There are no jobs because the Zero Administration is making it impossible and illegal to start or operate a small business (there’s no way to run a business in America now without violating countless rules unbeknownst to you). 

But the USCCC would never do that because Mike Lee not only voted No on the Omnibus last night, he’s also dead set against Amnesty.

You’d think also that the USCCC would be loudly denouncing the revelation this week that the US is no longer one of the Top Ten countries in the world for economic freedom.  On Tuesday (1/14), the Heritage Foundation released its 2014 Index of Economic Freedom.

#1 is Hong Kong with a score of 90.1.  The US is #12, behind Estonia, at 75.5.  As the Wall Street Journal notes, while economic freedom has been expanding globally, in the US it has been steadily shrinking.  The connection between economic freedom and prosperity is cause and effect.  Since Zero is dedicated to crushing both (except for his cronies), we’re getting neither.

But the USCCC doesn’t care about that.  It wants amnesty for illegals – far more important that freedom, prosperity, and preserving America.

Last Friday (1/10), Senator Ted Cruz gave a speech at the Texas Public Policy Foundation in Dallas.  He labeled Zero a "corrupt dictator" who feels not bound by either laws or the Constitution with a "consistent pattern of lawlessness."

Zero, he said is an "extraordinary threat to the liberty of this country. A president who is not bound by the law is no longer a president. And if you love liberty that should concern you greatly."

On Tuesday (1/14), Zero proceeded to prove Cruz’s contention in spades, announcing his intention to bypass Congress and rule by decree.  A lawless corrupt dictator – and not a legitimate president – is the precisely accurate description.

Cruz is the only senior politician in America who has the guts to say such truth to power.  It’s one of the many reasons I consider him to be our best candidate for 2016 and the best chance, as president, to reverse our nation’s disastrous decline.  His speech is 27 minutes long.  Take the time this weekend to curl up with a warm cup of joe and watch it:

Zero, as we know, is rabidly pro-abortion.  His equal is New York City’s new mayor Commie Red Bill de Blasio.  On Sunday (1/12), sociology professor Anne Hendershott wrote a devastating revelation about how black abortion rates is indeed a "tale of two cities" (between the have and have-nots in the Marxist cant of Red Bill’s gormless inauguration speech).  Three excerpts:

"New York is indeed a tale of two cities. While more than half of the pregnancies in many of New York City’s black and Hispanic neighborhoods end in death for the unborn child, only 6 percent of the pregnancies for women living on Manhattan’s Upper East Side do."

"According to the most recent abortion data released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Nov. 29 (2013), white women in New York City have a rate of abortion of 11.5 percent, and Hispanic women have an abortion rate of 33.8 percent, while the city’s black women have an overall rate of 48.1 percent."

"According to the New York City Department of Health, among non-Hispanic black teens, the abortion rate is 72 percent. What this means is that for every 1,000 black babies born to teens, 2,630 were aborted."

And what does Red Bill want to do about this Holocaust of the Black Unborn?  He wants more of it.  And Zero will only be too happy to provide taxpayer funding for him to do so. 

The Left’s War on the Unborn has been waged upon blacks more than any other ethnic group in America.  You’d think that this "first black president" would want to stop it.  And that influential blacks would demand it of him.  Neither is the case.  Shouldn’t we be forcefully asking why?

Way back in October 2011, TTP’s Dagny D’Anconia explained the connection between OBAMA AND THE SINALOA DRUG CARTEL.  It sure is must reading now.

On Monday (1/13), the Mexican press disclosed the deal between the US government and the Sinaloa cartel.  The El Universal magazine published online court documents in English which reveal that:

"Between the years 2000 and 2012, the U.S. government had an arrangement with Mexico’s Sinaloa drug cartel that allowed the organization to smuggle billions of dollars of drugs while Sinaloa provided information on rival cartels."

Shouldn’t this alone be enough to have Zero and Holder impeached?  Or will Daryl Issa and his House Oversight Committee conduct another fruitless investigation ending exactly nowhere? 

Dagny quoted Forbes Magazine as claiming Fast & Furious would be "Obama’s Watergate." Of course it wasn’t, just as this incredible revelation will be buried by the Enemedia.  At least TTPers know about it, and over two years ahead of time – thanks to Dagny!

OK, OK… so what do we do about this?  I see six alternatives.

1. If you’re stuck where you are, drop out locally – to paraphrase Timothy Leary: Turn off, Tune out, Drop out.  Don’t watch TV news, don’t read Drudge or other Internet sites (except for To The Point of course!!), pretend that all this garbage is happening in some foreign country far away that you could care less about. 

Focus instead on your family, your friends, your work and hobbies, your and your loved ones’ survival.

2. If you’re not stuck, move to a Red State.  Read Meredith Whitney’s Fate of the States: The New Geography of American Prosperity.  America’s future lies in the "Central Corridor" Red states.  Don’t live in Blue State obsolescence.

3. Drop out internationally.  Go live in exile in a place like Panama, Belize, Singapore, Australia or New Zealand.  Get out of harm’s way, far away from the blast zone as the fascism becomes unbearable.

4. Fight locally.  Forget Washington.  Organize to get rid of fascism in your community, like your police force’s SWAT team, its APC and no-knock raids – or not tolerating local regressive-liberal perversion.

For example, the Hocker Grove Middle School in Shawnee, Kansas insists on posting a list of sex acts in 13 year-old’s classrooms.  If my daughter attended the school, I wouldn’t complain.  I’d march into the classroom and rip the poster to shreds.  And I’d sure demand a jury trial.

5. Fight statewide.  Organize with folks across your state to pressure your state government to defy DC Fascism with 10^th Amendment challenges.  Look at this story on Monday (1/13) from Tennessee: States Team Up To Defy Federal Gun-Control Laws.  That’s great news.  Now we need them to team up to defy other unconstitutional DC edicts.  A wonderful target would be the EPA.

6. Become a Josey Wales Conservative.  In Clint’s greatest western, he explains:

Every conservative in America has got to take these words to heart:

"Now remember, when things look bad and you think you’re not gonna make it, then you got to get mean – I mean plumb mad dog mean. ‘Cause if you lose your head and you give up, then you neither live nor win.  That’s just the way it is."

We all need to become Josey Wales Conservatives, to get plumb mad dog mean whenever confronted with thieving, lying, hate-filled anti-American Marxist-Fascism by some regressive libtard.  Pick a fight with a Zero-loving Leftie today!  Make it a daily habit.

DougK on the Forum suggests we target the enemedia in particular with opposition research:

"Find the dirt on them and use it. Some, like the Hollyweird types, can’t be shamed, but if a couple ‘national political correspondents’ get knee-capped on live TV by a Pub candidate or two, the rest might just be a bit more circumspect, not knowing what may be known of their own personal skeletons.  The only real way to treat a bully is to shoot him in the face, figuratively if not literally. It’s past time the enemedia got that treatment."

If we get plumb mad dog mean loudly enough and consistently enough, maybe the Tea Party won’t be dead after all.  For, as Miracle Max explained in The Princess Bride,  "Your friend is not all dead.  He’s only almost dead.  And there is a very big difference between being almost dead and all dead."

So we, and America, are not dead yet.  Choose among the six alternatives above.  Personally, I like Josey.

I can’t end this HFR without this story.  On Saturday (1/11), a truly great man passed on – Ariel Sharon. 

In 1993, I brought a group of friends to Israel.  Among them was my mother, who was 79 years old.  A Born-Again Christian, she cried when we sat on a bench in the beautiful garden on the Mount of Beatitudes, and I read to her the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7) on the very site where Jesus delivered it.

A buddy who had grown up with Sharon arranged for him to take us through the "West Bank" – Judaea and Samaria.  I was stunned that it was mostly a deserted rock pile, with an very occasional village perched on a hilltop.  We hadn’t driven far from the sea when I saw a small creek below.  I asked Sharon what that was.  "The River Jordan," he replied.

"That’s no river – we’d barely call that a stream in the US," I said.  He smiled.  Then I asked, "But weren’t we just at an overlook of the Mediterranean?"  His smile got bigger.  "Israel’s not very wide, is it?"

There were about a dozen of us in a large van.  While the rest of us were gawking, I noticed my mother and Sharon engaged in deep conversation.  They were having fun and laughing together.  My mom knew nothing about Israeli politics and didn’t have the slightest idea of who he was.  She thought he was our tour guide.

At a rest stop, my mom came over to me to say, "Jack – who is that man, our guide?"  I resisted the temptation to tell her, "Mom, he is one of the greatest military geniuses of the 20^th century – as a general in the Israeli Army he saved Israel’s existence from the Arabs."  No, instead, I simply said, "His name is Ariel Sharon."

To which she replied, "Well, I’ve been talking to him, and I have to tell you, he is the most wonderful man!"

A little later, Sharon came up to me.  "Jack, I have to tell you something.  Your mother is the most wonderful woman!"

I will always treasure this memory.  Ariel Sharon was a heroic giant.  Alav HaShalom.
