I despise Gov. Fatso so I’m enjoying this.

The instantly-dubbed "Bridgegate" scandal erupted Wednesday (1/08).  Christie held a long press conference yesterday (1/09) which resulted in more ridicule and condemnation:

We all used to like this guy.  That was back in 2010, his first year as governor of Joisey, when he seemed a breath of conservative fresh air and eviscerated Democrats and Enemedia hecklers with aplomb.  Jack Kelly and I began calling him the Fat Reagan.

But by January 2011, the HFR reported that Christie had nominated a Moslem attorney connected to the terrorists of  Hamas and the Moslem Brotherhood to a New Jersey Superior Court judgeship.  "Looks like Christie has fallen under the influence of the Islamist Svengali of the Right, Grover Norquist.  What a terrible disappointment," I commented.

When he was criticized, he spouted the accusations of "Islamophobia" he learned from Grover, called his critics "crazies," and declared "this sharia law business is just crap."  As Jihad Watch’s Robert Spencer notes, "What’s crap is the idea that Christie is fit to be president."

By August 2011, the HFR revealed Christie to be a warmist idiot:  "Climate change is real… human activity plays a role in these changes."  He then placed a one-year moratorium on fracking in New Jersey.

And as we learned this week, on Tuesday (1/07), he signed his Dream Act and is all-out for illegal alien amnesty.

What I most despise about Christie, however, was his last-minute help to get Zero reelected in 2012.  "In Stunning About Face, Christie Heaps Praise on President Obama," was the October 31, 2012 headline in the New York Times story on Zero’s phony photo-op "surveying" the damage of Hurricane Sandy while using Christie as a useless-idiot prop.

So it’s knee-slapping funny to see an Enemedia frenzy freaking out with attack questions that were never even whispered to Zero regarding his Fast-and-Furious, Benghazi, IRS persecution scandals et al.  As the Wall Street Journal notes, "Compared to using the IRS against political opponents during an election campaign, closing traffic lanes for four days is jaywalking."

And as Jack Kelly tells me:

"Bridgegate is bad, but why is it worse to close two lanes of traffic for a few hours out of spite than to shut down national parks and monuments for a few weeks out of spite?  If the lane closures caused the death of a 90 year old woman because EMS couldn’t get to her in time (her family doesn’t think it did), that’s terrible, and those responsible should be punished.  But why is that worse than the murders of a U.S. ambassador and three other Americans in Benghazi?"

Yet it’s equally side-splitting to see the RINO-apologists at NRO praising Christie for his "finest moment" leadership as he threw his aide Bridget Kelly under the bus, while mimicking Zero’s standard total ignorance defense.  "I was blindsided… I had no knowledge or involvement in this."  Cry me a river, Chris.

Of course, the Enemedia is torching Christie to remove him as a 2016 threat to Hillary.  Well, good for them.  Especially, as Rush believes, "what Christie was really doing [with the Hurricane Sandy photo-op with Zero] was essentially trying to get Obama reelected, clearing the way for Christie 2016."  Traitor, thy name is Christie.

While the entire country went sub-zero as the warmist crackpots blamed it on the "polar vortex" scam (as it has nothing whatever to do with the warmists’ arch-villain, CO2), the Republican National Committee decided to postpone its annual winter meeting.  But not because of the cold.

No, because in what was called an "unprecedented show of opposition to abortion," the RNC delayed the meeting so its members could attend the March for Life at the Washington Mall on January 22.  That’s portentous.

It signals clear RNC support for pro-life candidates this year, and that candidates better not avoid taking conservative stands on "social issues." That’s the direct opposite of the Karl Rove-US Chamber of Crony Capitalism message.  We don’t know how long this will last, but it’s good news for now.

Adding to this good news is:  Access to Abortion Is Falling As States Pass Restrictions.  The New York Times is, of course, snarkily angry about this.

"In 2013 alone, 22 states adopted 70 different restrictions, including late-abortion bans, doctor and clinic regulations, limits on medication abortions and bans on insurance coverage," the NYT reports, and over 200 such restrictions in 30 states over the last three years.

"Anti-abortion groups aim to consolidate their position in dozens of states and to push the Senate to support a proposal adopted by the Republican-controlled House for a nationwide ban on most abortions at 20 weeks after conception," the Times says.  We’ll have to wait until we’re rid of the most rabidly pro-abortion president ever, and until President Cruz can sign such a bill, but all this is steady progress.

As you know, I refuse to call libtards "progressives," labeling them "regressives" instead.  So it was with considerable satisfaction that on Wednesday (1/08), Rudy Giuliani told Geraldo Rivera that there is "nothing progressive" about any of Zero’s and New York City’s new mayor Bill de Blasio’s ideas or programs.

Instead, they are "retrogressive."  Every idea of Zero’s and de Blasio’s "is 130 years old — tax the rich, set up class warfare, try to bring people out of poverty through entitlements," said Rudy.  It’s all "rekindling" Karl Marx.  Geraldo almost gagged on his bile.  Thanks, Rudy.  "Retrogressive" is close enough.  Now just drop that "-tro" in the middle to make it easier for everyone.

"Red Bill" de Blasio isn’t just a flat-out Marxist demagogue – he’s a crook, as corrupt as the Chicago political gangster infesting the White House.  The marvel is that it took less than a week to expose this.

He was inaugurated Mayor of New York on January 01, and announced his first edict would be to ban the iconic horse-drawn carriages that have been taking honeymooners on romantic rides through Central Park for as long as anyone can remember.

Six days later on Monday (1/06), the American Spectator revealed that Red Bill’s edict is "a corruption scandal masquerading as an animal-rights crusade."  Turns out that one of Red Bill’s biggest donors, Steve Nislick, is a real estate developer ready to seize the property where the horses are stabled and make millions building condos.  The article is a Must Read.  As it says, the story has "got everything a scandal could ever want."

Today (1/10), in the pages of the New York Post, actor Liam Neeson is riding to the horses’ rescue, saying he will do all he can to block Red Bill’s ban.  It’s a great interview.  Let’s hope Neeson kicks de Blasio’s Commie ass.

One of the most vile scumbags in America is a guy named Wesley Cook.  When he was a teen-ager in the 1960s, he became enamored with Mao Tse-Tung, joined the Black Panthers, dropped out of high school, got a girl pregnant, and changed his name to Mumia Abu-Jamal.  As a taxi driver in Philadelphia, on December 9, 1981, he shot police officer Daniel Faulkner to death in cold blood.

As Faulkner tried to arrest Abu-Jamal’s brother during a traffic stop, Abu-Jamal shot the policeman once in the back and then stood over him and shot him four more times at close range, once directly in the face.

He was arrested with the gun, the bullets that killed Faulkner matched it, there were three direct eyewitnesses who testified they saw him commit the murder, the evidence was overwhelming.  Yet because a radical Communist Black Moslem had killed a white police officer, the whole racist left proclaimed his innocence and turned him into a black folk hero.  He was found guilty, sentenced to death, and has been kept alive by endless appeals by scumbag leftie lawyers ever since.

One of them is a radical left black racist NAACP lawyer named Debo Adegbile (his father is Nigerian).  He’s made his career trying to get Abu-Jamal free.  Now Zero has nominated Adegbile to head the Civil Rights Division of Eric Holder’s Justice Dept.  As Daniel Greenberg observes, "Obama’s nominee process involves finding the worst person on earth for that job or any job. It’s a process that never fails."

On Monday (1/06), the leaders of the National Fraternal Order of Police, in the name of its 330,000 members sent a scathing letter to Zero bitterly denouncing his Adegbile nomination.  The "absence of ethics" in Adegbile’s "cynical race-baiting" defense of "our country’s most notorious cop-killer," the letter says, is "a thumb in the eye of our nation’s law enforcement officers."

Your nomination, the letter informed Zero, "demonstrates a total lack of regard or empathy for those who strive to keep you and everyone else in our nation safe in your home and neighborhoods — sometimes giving their lives in the effort."  The FOP pledged to do "everything we can do defeat it in the Senate."

We wish the FOP every success.

Time for a quick look-see around the world.

Did you know that Britain has its own Tea Party?  Called the UK Independence Party (UKIP), Fox News reported over the weekend (1/04) that it will likely lead "a seismic shift in the British political spectrum," with UKIP’s "anti-establishment, populist platform that argues for lower taxation, smaller government and getting Britain out of the European Union."

It may be too much to ask that UKIP leader Nigel Farage could be British Prime Minister someday, but it’s not an absurd dream.

If we take the Chunnel over to France, we’ll find tout le monde in an arrogant tizzy (do the French have any other kind of tizzy?) over an article in the current issue of Newsweek, The Fall of France.  The subsequent Gallic uproar has been deafening.  Funniest of all is the French critics loudly condemning the article for observing:

"As they say, the problem with the French is they have no word for entrepreneur. Where is the Richard Branson of France? Where is the Bill Gates?"

How stupid do you have to be to not get the joke?  Yet all les intellctuels in every French newspaper huffily yelled that, as did the bubblehead on French TV news, the author "mocks the French language for having no word for entrepreneur, without realizing the English word comes from French."   Those Frenchies never miss a trick, do they?

Speaking of arrogance, it was hard to top that of Brazil’s when it was one of the Golden BRICs that all the hotshot global investors were pouring money into not so long ago.  The old joke that "Brazil is the country of tomorrow – and always will be" was declared dead and buried.

The joke is back.  On Monday (1/06), the WaPo had this headline:  Brazil’s Oil Euphoria Hits Reality Hard.  Those predictions of hundreds of billions of oil barrels were smoke and mirrors.  All those unproven reserves were just that.  Investors figured out that Brazil’s oilco, state-owned Petrobras, is more of a massively incompetent bureaucracy than an actual business.

Ah, well, back to the beach at Ipanema.  Brazil can worry about this tomorrow.  "After all," as Scarlett O’Hara said, "tomorrow is another day."

************

One reason, of course, for Brazil’s oil boom going bust is that America’s is going like gangbusters.  As the London Financial Times reported on Wednesday (1/08): "America’s domestic energy revolution helped drive a decline in the US trade deficit to its lowest level in four years."  Further:

"The government’s Energy Information Administration predicted on Tuesday that the US oil boom would continue, driven by rising production of shale oil unlocked by advances in horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing or ‘fracking.’  The EIA forecast that in 2015 US oil output could approach its record high of 9.6m barrels per day, reached in 1970."

(Note to Kermit:  Purists can insist it’s called "fracing" inside the business all they want.  But since any normal English-speaker will pronounce that "frassing," the rest of the world will pay no attention to them whatever.  It’s fracking… frackkkkkking.  Get used to it, amigo.)

TTP has been proclaiming fracking as "the most politically revolutionary technology of modern times" and how it would screw Russia for several years (the quote is from Political Energy, June 2011).  Since the HFR of July 10, 2009, in fact, before the term "fracking" was being used, simply the extraction of "unconventional gas."

(By the way, you’ll love in that HFR the "O-bum-a-gate" picture, and learning that the Russians – especially those in the Kremlin – refer to Hillary with the nickname of Bolshoiaya Suka – the Big Bitch.)

On Wednesday (1/08), Tom Lifson at AT summed up what fracking has become today: An Incomparable Strategic Weapon for the United States.  Although I do have to correct Tom when he claims: "Virtually no one in the political, journalistic, or academic elites saw fracking coming as a major American strategic weapon."  TTP certainly did!

Tom, however, is bang-on correct when he says: "The only thing that can save (Russia and other oil oligarchies) is a political movement in the United States, headed by the environmentalist groups, that could cripple this strategic weapon. That central fact must be understood in evaluating the funding and activities of environmentalists."

What Tom doesn’t realize, as we’ve been explaining often (such as here in 2011), is that:

"The KGB (or the FSB as it calls itself now) is conducting an absolutely massive bribery and blackmail program, targeting officials and journalists in Poland, Germany, and all through Europe, to ‘persuade’ them to oppose and demonize fracking.

This goes all the way from minor bureaucrats in Lublin to the Energy Commissioner of the European Union, Guenther Oettinger. Earlier this month (9/09), he announced – in Wroclaw, Poland, to be sure there was no doubt to whom he was talking – the EU would be issuing permissions and rules for EU countries regarding shale gas extraction.  Herr Oettinger is on the Kremlin’s payroll."

This is the cause of Europe’s masochistic opposition to fracking, and why natural gas prices are four to five times higher in Europe than in the US ($3-4 vs $12-16).

You can depend on the Kremlin along with the Saudis to bribe as many US journalists, pundits, scientists, and politicians as they can to oppose fracking, in addition to funding anti-fracking programs and protests by enviros.  That’s because it’s already happening.  Witness this story in ABC News on Sunday (1/05), Drilling Contamination Found in Well Water in Four States.

Look at the picture of the idiot eco-luddites demonstrating.  They have no idea the folks who put them up to this are on the Kremlin payroll.  As is, evidently, the Associated Press, from which they story originated.

Is Zero?  We asked that question, Is Obama on Putin’s Payroll?, in April 2012.  We pointed out:

"Just like the Saudis, the KGB has journalists all over the world on their payroll.  There’s hardly a major newspaper or newsmagazine in Europe, for example, that doesn’t have one or more of their prominent writers and editors being paid on the sly by the Saudis to say nice things about them and nothing critical.

It’s not quite as extensive throughout the US media, but you’d be surprised what US pundits and media stars are on the Saudi take.  The Saudis particularly like to see if they can rope in one of them on the right.  Well-known conservative columnist and television commentator Robert Novak (1931-2009) was one of their prize catches.  For years they paid him a fortune to be pro-Palestinian/anti-Israel."

Regarding Zero, as the PIAPS once famously asked, "What difference does it make?"  He and his EPA act as if they were. The great good news though, is that the fracking cat is out of Washington’s bag, and is making so much money for so many people that it’s too late to stuff it back in – even though they will try with strangling regulations.

Fracking is saving America’s economy, and it’s going to save the world – once President Cruz sets it free.  We just have to hold on until then.

Meanwhile, it is our duty to consider that:

THE PRESIDENT MUST RESIGN
