EMBALMING FREEDOM

Asunción, Paraguay.  The Congressman who told me that during the dinner conversation I described in The Traitor in the White House (2/20/13) voiced what I have never understood:  the human capacity to worship evil.

The Congressman was talking about Zero, but his words apply even more so here in South America to the man the whole continent is fixated on right now, Hugo Chavez.  On every TV news show, in every newspaper and magazine, it’s Chavez 24/7.  And most all of it is lies.

Let’s start with what every spook agency in the world knows – from Langley to Whitehall to the KGB/FSB and China’s MSS – but no major media outlet is reporting:  Chavez didn’t die on March 5^th in Venezuela, he died January 3^rd in Cuba.

The SEBIN – Servicio Bolivariano de Inteligencia Nacional – is a molehill of agents on the take from a score of intel agencies all over the planet, who all knew Chavez croaked in Cuba over two months ago.  There were two reasons it was hidden at the time.

First, the Cubans didn’t want their shoddy socialist medical care to be blamed.  But far more importantly, the Chavistas had to pretend he was still alive so he could be inaugurated – albeit invisibly and in absentia – for a second term on January 10.  His death before that meant there was no president and no successor to the president, and immediate elections with no incumbent.

Delaying the news for two months gave them time to install union thug Nicolas Maduro as incumbent president, and build up the drama and emotion of the Cult of Chavez. The religious lamentation for him, similar to that of the Norks for Kim Jong-il, among Venezuela’s throngs of 2DIQs – those with a 2-digit IQ – is to be expected.  What’s truly laughable is the media’s joining in.

CBS’ headline of March 8 was: Chavez’s Funeral Attracts World Leaders.  Right.  Aside from Chavez’s fellow scumbag dictators like Cuba’s Raul Castro, Iran’s Ahmadinejad, and Belarus’ Lukashenko, it was bunch of nobodies.  Putin sent Russia’s Minister of Industry and Trade.  Hu Jintao sent the guy who runs China’s National Development and Reform Commission. Zero sent a nobody Commiecrat, Gregory Meeks, and a less-than-nobody former Commiecrat, Bill Delahunt.   

Most South American leaders felt it obligatory to attend, like Chile’s Sebastian Piñera even though he despised Chavez.  But the biggest Latin gun of all, Brazil’s President Dilma Rousseff, showed up in Caracas to say some fluff, then bugged out before the funeral – an explicit snub on purpose.  Argentina’s Christina Kirchner did the same thing.

Then there’s the impossibly stupid story in the London Telegraph, Latin America’s New Political Power Couple Takes The Reins in Venezuela.  The hack who wrote this has to know it’s tripe, and so must the Telegraph’s editors, but they ran it anyway.  Maduro is a straight-out thug with no brains or charisma, whose entire game plan is to keep the momentum of Chavismo in the air like an Indian Rope Trick.

Rousseff, Kirchner, Piñera, and other South America leaders like Peru’s Humala know this well.  The ones that Chavez supported – Nicaragua’s Danny Ortega and Bolivia’s Evo Morales, know they are screwed.  Ecuador’s Rafael Correa has oil so he may last longer.  But they all understand that Venezuela is now going to become a full-on ruthless colony of Cuba.

Cuba will suck whatever is left of the Venezuelan economy dry.  The Cuban Secret Police (SDE, State Security) already run the country, with some 27,000 agents, posing as police, doctors, teachers, etc. in place.  The economy will continue its descent into hell.  Venezuela used to export over 3 million barrels of oil a day (BC: Before Chavez in the late 90s).  It’s down to less than half that now and declining, as Chavez replaced anyone in the PDVSA national oilco who knew anything with cronies who used revenues as a cash cow for Chavez’s subsidies, and not into new tech or expanding/improving production.

Further, while the economy is one-trick pony – 94% of government revenue comes from oil – Venezuelan oil is really "heavy," requiring specialized refining, which only the US possesses in volume.  And we don’t need it anymore.  We’re getting our oil out of our own ground or from Canada now.  So not only is Venezuelan oil production dropping off a cliff, but its market is too. 

Thus the entire Chavismo project will soon be history, despite any and all efforts of Chavistas to sanctify Hugo.  That they are going to embalm him and place him in a waxified Pantheon of Evil along with Lenin and Mao is an act of extreme desperation. 

Embalmment is to take something that’s dead and try to make it look like it’s still alive. Chavez embalmed freedom in Venezuela – and the Venezuelans have no one to blame but themselves for allowing it to happen. Freedom in Venezuela is so dead that millions are mourning his death instead of celebrating it.

Embalming freedom is what Zero is trying to do to America.  Scores of millions of Americans are letting him get away with it and worshipping him for doing so.  While it’s getting worse by the day, it hasn’t happened yet.  Obama-worship has not reached levels of Chavez-worship, because so many Americans remain smarter than so many Venezuelans, and those who are smarter are the ones who own lots of guns.

The human capacity to worship scumbags, freedom-destroyers, and outright monsters as heroes is indeed one of history’s enduring mysteries.  It is a form of mass moral insanity, repeated over and over again through millennia.  America as a whole has succumbed to this insanity over Zero. 

But millions of us have not.  It is those millions who are the hope of our country regaining its senses. If we keep that hope alive, Zero will ultimately fail in his effort of embalming our freedom.  We will prevail, and freedom in America will exist yet again.
