PREPARING FOR THE NOBAMA FUTURE

Looks like no one will be able to recognize Zero’s political hit man, David Axelrod, after next week, as he’ll be shaving off his mustache.  The Nightmare of Zero will soon be over.  It’s time to start thinking about and preparing for the coming Nobama Future.

When the bluest state of modern times – Minnesota – is at risk of going red, you know Zero is a presidential goner.  Not even Ronald Reagan carried Minnesota – he won all the other 49 in 1984.  The last Pub to carry it was Nixon in 1972. No other state has been straight Dem since. Frankly, Romney probably won’t carry the Gopher State either – but it will be one of the few he doesn’t.

You can start preparing for the Nobama Future right this very moment by reading Joel Wade’s Rat Brain.  Joel describes it:

"The feeling sense – the sensation in your body of stress and anxiety when you feel the urge to check the polls, or linger too long surfing the web for hopeful news stories; coupled with the anticipation of relief or reward when you find some good news, and a great compulsion to go toward that reward – is your rat brain at work."

Is this you?  I confess – it sure is me.  With four days to go until America’s fate is decided, my rat brain is in hyper-drive.  Joel’s advice on how to handle this comes just in time, and I’m taking it to heart.  I’m ordering my dorsolateral prefrontal cortex to tell my rat brain to shut up – as it understands that Romney is going to win going away.

So – the next thing to do in preparing for the Nobama Future is making sure you’ll be at the TTP Victory Rendezvous next weekend (Nov. 09-11).

We are finalizing our schedule – there’s more to come – but here are our speakers so far.

*Bob Boback, founder and CEO of Tiversa, the world’s premier cyberintelligence company. Bob spoke to us last year (RXI) and simply blew everyone away exposing the world of cyberwarfare between companies and between nations, how we are personally at risk with bad guys having total access to our computers, and how we can protect ourselves.  He’ll be even more mind-blowing at RXIII.

*Dr. Ariel Cohen, the senior expert on Russia, Eurasia, and International Energy Policy for the Heritage Foundation. Ariel just had dinner with Putin in the Kremlin, and can confirm that the rumors he needs quite serious back surgery are true.  You’ll get any number of insights like this from him on what’s really going on in Putin’s Russia and his designs on Europe and Asia.

*Sherkoh Abbas, leader of the Syrian Democratic Coalition freedom fighters in Syria.  The SDC is fighting not only the Assad dictatorship, but also opposes the Moslem Brotherhood and other radical Islamists who want to impose Sharia law upon the Syrian people, as is happening now in Egypt.  Sherkoh will give us an on-the-ground report on all the players involved, from Turkey, Iran, the Saudis, Israel, the US, to Al-Qaeda and the various insurgent groups.

*Christopher Braun, one of the most sought-after international tax attorneys in America.  The tax implications looming in 2013 are enormous, and Christopher will explain how to prepare for them.  His presentation on how the unique form of American citizenship created our tax system, and how politicians of both Pub and Dem parties have perverted it, will be jaw-dropping fascinating.

*Jack Abramoff.  Will it be possible for a President Romney to clean out the lobbying filth of Washington’s Augean Stables?  There’s no one better than Jack Abramoff to explain what Romney’s chances are.

*Joe Katzman, publisher of Defense Industry Daily and editor of TTP’s Weekly Mind Food.  Zero has left us with a military dangerously politicized and vulnerable to a plethora of threats.  Joe will discuss what Romney’s best options are to address these threats, such as to our ports, borders, and our Navy via anti-ship cruise missiles – as well as how to de-politicize and restructure our entire national security apparatus.

Plus, we hope to have Richard Rahn be with us.  Richard is trying his best to rearrange his international travel schedule so he can.  And, in addition, we have our TTP regulars Jack Kelly, Joel Wade, Paul Rosenberg, and yours truly.

We are going to have a marvelously informative time at the Rendezvous, so please try to be there.  Preparing for the Nobama Future is a daunting task.  Some things will happen quickly, others emerge more slowly.  There will opportunity and danger – they always come in equal amounts and there will be plenty of both.  Zero has dug America into a deep abyss.  Romney has no magic wand that will painlessly and quickly extricate us out of it.

One of the things Jack Kelly and I will focus on at RXIII is the dreaded Transition – the 76 days between Election and Inauguration Days, an enormously long time during which Zero could engage in a gargantuan amount of mischief and revenge.

If we’re really lucky, he and Moochelle will retreat to Hawaii and sulk.  America will have proved unworthy of his greatness, and have to stew in its racist juices without him.

Maybe.  We can pray for it, but let’s not bet on it.  If he stays in DC and goes on a spree of maliciousness, what damage could he do?  What he can’t do is pass any legislation.  The 112th Congress will still run a lame-duck session, with a Pub House majority able to block anything passed by the Senate Dems – and there’s little chance of that as they don’t have 60 votes to cloture a Pub filibuster.

What he can do is go on an Executive Order binge.  As of today (11/02), Zero has issued 139 EO’s.  How vicious and vindictive Transition-period EOs could be is anyone’s guess.  There are two remedies.

First is legal challenge.  It’s critical to know that there is no specific Constitutional authority for presidential executive orders – only the vague grant of "executive power.  Thus President Harry Truman’s EO to take over steel mills in 1952 was invalidated by the Supreme Court in Youngstown, as it unconstitutionally attempted to make law, rather than implement or execute a specific law passed by Congress.

Thus any Transition-period EO of Zero’s has to cite some specific law as its authority, and its execution can be blocked in the courts by legal challenge.

Second is rescission. Any EO can be revoked or rescinded at any time by the president who issued it or his successor.  One of the very first EOs Zero issued was to rescind a number of Bush’s EOs.  Thus President-elect Romney could announce that any Transition-period EO of Zero will be rescinded and revoked on the day of his Inauguration (Monday, January 21).  This, combined with legal challenges, would free anyone from complying with a moot Zero EO.

Another item for RXIII discussion will be the Senate.  Even if the Pubs do gain a majority, it will be thin, giving the Dems filibuster power to thwart a Romney legislative agenda.  Enter Vice-President Paul Ryan.  As such, constitutionally he’ll be President and presiding officer of the Senate.  This gives him the authority to control the Senate’s daily agenda — who speaks or doesn’t get to, which bills are voted on or tabled, etc.

No VP in modern times has exercised his constitutional authority to preside over the Senate – only showing up to break a tie vote.  So the Majority Leader appoints a Senate President Pro Tempore ("for the time being"), traditionally his party’s most senior senator (currently Daniel Inouye of Hawaii), who then assigns the position to other senators on a rotating basis who always do what the Majority Leader (currently Harry Reid) wants.

Vice-President Ryan could overthrow all of this by personally presiding over the Senate on a regular basis.  He’s also smart enough to understand the intricacies of complex Senate rules encrusted with over two centuries of decorum and tradition, and how to most effectively use them to stifle Dem obstructionism.  He could simply shut Reid down.  The Senate under Ryan could be the best show in town next year.

There is, of course, lots, lots more to do in preparation for the Nobama Future.  I hope we have a lively discussion on it in the Forum.  It will be an ongoing focus of TTP for months to come.  But you can’t do better in preparing for it than joining us at the Victory Rendezvous.  I sure hope I’ll see you there.
