HALF-FULL REPORT 05/20/11

Feeling dizzy?  Join the club.  This week has been such a whirlwind it can make anyone’s head spin.  Before we step into the maelstrom, though, big thanks to Jack Kelly for writing such an outstanding HFR last week!

So, here we go, and look at all this fun stuff.  Three pretend-conservative presidential wannabes took themselves out.  On Saturday (5/14), the Huckster said "My heart says no."  On Monday (5/16), the Trumpster said "You’re fired!" to himself.  In between on Sunday (5/15), Newtie neutered his just-announced campaign by condemning Paul Ryan’s budget as "right-wing social engineering."

Good riddance to all three.  And good riddance to terminally obnoxious Ron Paul who last week denounced the killing of Osama bin Laden, and in return has now been named Moron Paul for his anti-American foreign policy idiocy.  The only folks supporting him after this will be Blame-America-First Libertarians – the "hippies of the right," as Ayn Rand called them.

That said, Newt does have his uses.  He rhetorically nailed Zero to the wall by labeling him a "food stamp president."  The description encapsulates Zero’s agenda in three words:  to transform America into a European socialist welfare state, ensuring a permanently dependent electorate that permanently keeps the ruling elite in power.

Think, then, of Newt’s three words when you read the following historical observation of Alex Alexiev from his Islamism in Europe this week (5/18):

As the post-1973 oil crisis put an official end to the ‘economic miracle’ post-war era in Europe, the welfare state policies began to impose ever greater burdens on the economy in terms of government intervention, rising payroll taxes, and minimum wages and rigid labor laws designed to protect highly paid skilled and unionized workers, while punishing the young and unskilled by making them unemployable. 

At the same time, generous welfare checks, housing benefits, child subsidies, and free health care made it economically more attractive for many to do nothing rather than take minimum wage jobs.

Sums up Zero’s agenda in a nutshell.

C’est merveilliux!  C’est magnifique!  Isn’t it just totally delicious how a socialist scumbag at the pinnacle of the world’s elite ended up in a cell at Rikers for raping a hotel maid in a $3,000 a night suite?

That would be Dominque Strauss-Kahn – known in France as DSK – now-former head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and now-former shoe-in to be France’s next president as the leader of the Socialist Party.

First, it should tell you all you need to know about the corrupt world of the international financial bureaucracy that an official Socialist runs it. 

Second, as Cato’s Doug Bandow acutely observes, "the rape charges against him symbolize the IMF: an institution of privilege that routinely acts to the disadvantage of the vulnerable."

Third, it is simply an epitome of schadenfreude to watch the French spasm out in fury over his arrest and treatment by the NYPD as a common criminal, instead of being treated as someone superhumanly special.  Isn’t égalité supposed to be a big deal to the French?  Guess not.  And of course, DSK’s arrest gives a whole new meaning to the term "frog march."

I asked my buddy, Robert Agostinelli, for his view on the matter.  Robert lives in Paris and has a $20 billion private equity fund, so he moves in DSK’s circle and knows him well.  Here’s Roberto firing both barrels:

DSK has never been anything but a trumped up poor excuse of a "man of the realm."

His "gauche caviar" taste was the benign part of the equation; the discreet understated "le Grand Seducteur" character was in classic French style amusing in the debauched parlors of the 6^th and 7^th arrondissements and served to hide the increasingly sinister side of it all.

It is testimony to morally corrupt haute Parisian elites to insist that of course he "must have been set up", for denial is necessary to validate the lie.

At Versailles they resorted to wigs and makeup to perfume the ugliness; in our day they simply ignore the truth.

Part of the bewildered look on the face of DSK at his arraignment is that he does not understand how his conduct could be questioned. In the Gallic galaxy and world of illiberal elites he has a permanent pass; for he is of course "one of them".

It is this same hypocrisy which paints a mediocre socialist financier, who participated in the undermining of the French Republic’s financial and social fabric under the disastrous administrations of cynical socialist Francois Mitterrand (1981-1995) and the bizarre Trotskyite Lionel Jospin (1997-2002), as "brilliant and a savior".

It is the same hypocrisy which allows this illiberal cult to erase the career of former World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz who did nothing immoral or illegal, yet stand staunchly behind a known predatory animal.   

Ultimately the truth will out. However, one victory for mankind is already complete; the centralizing-loving, taxing and redistributing petty bureaucrat has been removed from the scene. One less manic voice for bailouts and erosion of taxpayer rights along with his and his wife’s (famous French journalist Anne Sinclair) haughty sense of entitlement.

With any luck, the scandal could be the spark that sees US withdrawal from the IMF, precipitating its collapse.  The US government owns 17% of the IMF and currently gurantees over $100 billion of its loans.  Such withdrawal won’t happen under Zero – but promising it would be a fruitful campaign theme for Republican aspirants.

Speaking of those aspirants – you know my favorite by a couple of light years is Sarah Palin.  She provided yet another reason why this week when she condemned the granting of one out of every five ObamaCare waivers to businesses in Nancy Pelosi’s congressional district as "seriously corrupt."

She went further, condemning "anyone who still supports the Pelosi-Reid-Obama agenda of centralized government takeovers of the free market and the corresponding crony capitalism is, in my book, complicit" in the corruption.

Think the current Republican Establishment candidate, Mitch Daniels, has the nerve to tell the unvarnished truth like that?

Last night (5/19), Palin reignited presidential speculation when she told Greta Van Sustern there is no doubt she has "the fire in my belly" for running.  The enemedia’s nonstop unending mantra is "she can’t win" – because they and the Dems are terrified of her the most and know she can.

Take a look at the latest Gallup Poll (this week, 5/17):  Sarah is running second behind Romney with everyone else way behind.  Of course she can win, the nomination and the presidency.  That’s why the Dems are so desperate to convince us all she can’t.

Wasn’t that just the greatest speech on the Middle East that Zero gave at the State Department yesterday (5/19)?

Actually, it was pretty good, as he went all up/all in for the Bush Doctrine of promoting democracy and basic human rights in the Moslem world – until he came to the very end and advocated the impossibly stupid and ignorant "return to the 1967 borders" for Israel.

Zero lacks a basic grasp of certain fundamental historical facts regarding the creation of Israel.  To gain such a grasp, here is his required reading list:

The Moslem Myth of Jerusalem (December 2003).  It explains how the claim that Jerusalem is a Holy Islamic City is a total fabrication.  There is no legitimate Moslem claim to Jerusalem whatever.

Philistines and Palestinians (December 2006).  This explains why there has historically never been any group of Arabs known as "Palestinians" distinct from other Arabs.

The English Godfather of Palestinian Terrorism (December 2003), revealing how a maniacally anti-Semitic English homosexual named Ernest Richmond prevented Israel’s creation after World War I and mentored the original Arab anti-Israel terrorists.

After World War I, the League of Nations created four "Mandates" out of the defeated Ottoman Empire:  Mesopotamia (later Iraq), Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine (subsequently divided into Jordan and Jewish Palestine or Israel).

Since the mandate process created these countries, it is valid for all or none.  Syria, for example, cannot claim that its borders and very existence as a nation state are valid but Israel’s are not.  The same legal process that created Syria created Israel.  Both are as legal – or illegal – as the other.  Damascus should be made to choose which. 

Here is the final Mandate for Jewish Palestine after its diminution to create (Trans-) Jordan.  Note the borders:

 
You don’t see any "West Bank" in there, do you?  Compare this map of Jewish Palestine – which is the legal map of Israel to this day – with that of the CIA’s and US State Department’s:

 
So where does this "West Bank" come from, and where does the CIA get off labeling the Golan as "Israel Occupied"?

When Israel declared its independence on May 14, 1948 (one day before the British Mandate expired so it was still valid with the borders you see above), Arab armies invaded from Syria, Jordan, and Egypt intent on eliminating the existence of the "Zionist Entity."  They were defeated – but not entirely.

Egypt occupied the "Gaza Strip" portion of Israeli territory, Syria the same with the Golan, and Jordan the same with what it called the West Bank (the "bank" being that of the Jordan River, east of which was Jordan).  For 19 years, the Golan was Syria Occupied, while the West Bank was Jordan Occupied.

Then came the Six Day War, June 5-10, 1967, in which Israel recaptured its territories – and beyond.  Israeli armies got to within a few miles of Damascus, seized all of the Sinai, and were poised to take the Suez Canal and march on Cairo.  Instead, they pulled back to their 1948 Mandate borders, and eventually gave the Sinai back to Egypt.  (Israel tried to give the Gaza, so full of Arabs, to Egypt but Cairo wouldn’t take it.)

And ever since, the world – and now Zero – has the gall to label the Golan and the West Bank as Israel Occupied, and demand that "peace requires" Israel return to its "pre-1967" borders!

The 1922-1948 British Mandate for Jewish Palestine borders are Israel‘s legal borders.  This one fact is the absolutely most critical thing to understand about Israel today.

Zero doesn’t – and that’s good news, because yesterday he really tore it with Israel and every Jewish donor to his campaign who isn’t a self-hating Jew.

Democrats, especially presidents, don’t get elected without Jewish money.  Today, that money began knocking on Hillary’s door.  There’s a rumor going around Foggy Bottom that HRC snookered Zero into concluding his speech with this stupidity.  2012 is her last chance to occupy the Oval Office as did her husband.  Yesterday was more evidence she’s going for it.
