WHO IS GIVING WAR A CHANCE?

Hear them?  The drums, pounding louder and louder.  Lots of them, all over the place.  From where are these pounding drums of war coming?  Let’s start with Tabuk.

It’s a small city of 100,000 in northwest Saudi Arabia with a big airport – one of the runways is two miles long (10½ thousand feet).  That’s because Tabuk is home to the King Abdul Aziz Military City and the King Faisal Air Base.

Outside of town and near the air base is a separate community with nice homes surrounded by green lawns and shade trees, a beautiful Olympic-size swimming pool, tennis courts, fitness center, hot tubs, even a fruit orchard.  This is home for the United States Military Training Mission (USMTM) to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Last month (6/23), the Iranian government’s Fars News Agency reported that Israeli military aircraft had been landing at Tabuk for the past several days, offloading large amounts of military tech equipment while the airport was closed to civilian flights.  Fars claimed that the Saudi coordinating the Israeli operation is Prince Fahd bin Sultan.

The operation, Fars further claimed, was in preparation for an Israeli Air Force strike upon Iran, launched from Tabuk and using Saudi airspace for in-air refueling, and with the full knowledge and assistance of the US Air Force guys at USMTM.

As this was going on in Tabuk, the USS Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group was transiting the Suez Canal on its way to the coast of Iran.

A few days later, Yousef al-Otaiba, the ambassador from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the US, gave a speech declaring that his country "could not live with a nuclear Iran," and thus supported a pre-emptive military strike against it.

No wonder that, in response to all of this, the Persian Midget, Mahmoud Ahmadinutjob announced on Iranian Press TV that the US has "hatched a plot" with Israel to attack Iran "within the next three months."

Hmmm… three months.  That would be, like… October.  How convenient.

A lot of TTPers are convinced that Zero’s October Surprise is an Arab-Israeli attack on Iran for which he can claim credit for allowing or winking at.  We should all wish him well in this endeavor.  If there is to be an October Surprise, let’s hope this is it.

Just why Zero will think it will help the electoral chances of Congressional Dems in November is not clear.  It will outrage the Moonbat Left, who will just not show up at the voting booth, while all the Pubs and Indies will cheer an attack on Iran and then pull the GOP lever anyway.

Now if Zero thinks that giving war a chance is the way to give his Dems a chance, all we can say is, cool – go for it.  Wiping out the terrorist mullahs and Moslem crazies of Iran would be the best possible October Surprise.

But… how could an anti-military metrosexual pantywaist like Zero come up with this idea?  Because it’s not his idea, and the person whose idea it is talked him into it.  Who could that be?  Let’s go to Seoul, South Korea to find out.

Last week, there were huge headlines (like on Drudge) that the Norks were threatening nuclear war if the US and South Korea didn’t call off their joint naval exercise tip-toe close to the Nork coast.  On the day this threat was issued, Hillary Clinton was in Seoul and her response was a shrug. 

The Invincible Spirit exercises, with 20 warships including the 97,000-ton supercarrier USS George Washington, 200 planes and fighter aircraft, a number of submarines, and 8,000 US and ROK troops, went off without  hitch, ending yesterday (7/28).  The Norks did nothing. 

At last and for once, we called the Norks’ bluff and they shut up and backed down.  Or rather – Hillary called their bluff.

Then Mrs. Clinton flew to Hanoi, Vietnam and proceeded to stick it to the Chicoms.

To grasp the importance of what she did in Hanoi, you should read The Trap of Lizzie Webber from March 2009.  It’s about the South China Sea and how China claims it, all of it as its own territorial waters.  Just as the Chicoms bullied a newly-inaugurated George Bush over the South China Sea, so they bullied the new President Zero – with both backing down.

Hillary was under orders to back down then in March 2009.  She’s not taking orders any more.

Thus it was explosive when she publicly declared in Hanoi that the South China Sea does not belong to China, but is instead international waters in which "freedom of navigation, open access to Asia’s maritime commons and respect for international law in the South China Sea" must prevail.

The American Secretary of State officially announcing a US "national interest" in the South China Sea’s internationality infuriated the Chicoms.  Like the Norks, they threatened war.  The South China Sea is a "core interest" of China’s, they said, like Tibet and Taiwan, which they will protect with "military means."  Hillary shrugged and refused to back down.

It’s one thing to call the Norks’ bluff – for as we learned in Why North Korea’s Nuke Test Is Such Good News (October 2006), the Norks don’t have The Bomb and their plutonium is polluted.  It’s quite another with the Chicoms.

Take a look at this report on how China is rapidly and massively expanding its naval forces.  E.g.:

"Today China has ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, aircraft, surface-to-air missiles, naval vessels, and submarines with which it can threaten precise, non-nuclear strikes on fixed bases, aircraft, and surface ships operating across a widening swath of the Western Pacific."

Yet it will still be some years – but not too many – until the Chicoms’ Navy is anywhere near ours.  So, Hillary concludes, the time to deny them sovereignty over the South China Sea is now.  Can a military alliance including big-ticket weapons sales between the US and Vietnam be far behind? 

Hillary is giving war a chance – and Zero hasn’t figured out that she’s giving herself a chance thereby to make him a one-termer in 2012.

She is setting up solid foreign policy/national security résumé chock full of bona fides.  It’ll all be in place when the economy disintegrates next year, she steps down from SecState to blame Zero for the mess he created while she was protecting our international interests, and announces her candidacy.

She’s 62 now, and will be 65 in November ’12.  This is her shot, her last one.  As more and more Dem heavyweights understand the destruction Zero is causing to their party and realize they can’t hold on to the White House with him, they will turn to Hillary.  This has already begun with a number of them.

It has begun especially with the older power brokers who remember what the Democrat Party used to be before it was taken over by the Hate America Left – pro-America, pro-defense, and pro-government social programs.

Hillary understands how much Americans have acquired a revulsion towards a president who is an alien, who is not an American in his soul.  And she understands how many Americans don’t want massive taxes and government takeovers of everything – yet they also want government goodies.  She can give them what they want, and has every intention of doing so.

She’s the one to watch, folks, the one to be beware of.  Zero is on his way to landing on the ash-heap of history.  Hillary is smart, competent, and deadly.  She will never make the mistakes she did running against him in 2007-8.  In 2011-12, she will run over him like a truck. 

Right now her strategy is to give war a chance.  Next year, she will start asking America to give her a chance, the chance to repair the vast and devastating damage the Zero Presidency has done to America.  We had better be prepared, for if we’re not, she’ll get that chance.  It’s a chance America can not afford to take.
