HALF-FULL REPORT 04/23/10

Jack Kelly asked this week:  Are there no limits to Democrat corruption?  The corollary question is:  Is there no end to Democrat fascism?  Day by day, the evidence mounts:  the answers are:  no limts, no end.

Prominent political analyst Michael Barone’s term for fascism is Gangster Government, and accuses Zero and the Democrats of instituting it.  The Dodd Bailout Bill of "financial reform" is a perfect example.  He notes:

"Republicans have been accurately attacking the Dodd bill for authorizing bailouts of big Wall Street firms and giving them unfair advantages over small competitors. They might want to add that it authorizes Gangster Government — the channeling of vast sums from the politically unprotected to the politically connected."

The extent of this can be seen in this five page list of exemptions or "carve-outs" in the 1,400 page Bailout Bill.

As TTPer "Rockymount" observes on the Forum, the Bailout Bill will place "the President and his Czars in complete control of this nation’s financial system."  Can’t get a lot more fascist than that.

The Dems, though, disagree.  They think they’re  just getting started.  Why do you think Harry Reid just announced that his number one legislative priority now is legality – which means voting rights – for illegal aliens, more important than Cap & Trade?

Twenty million illegals voting for Dems could do the trick in keeping them in fascist power.  Zero, Reid, and Pelosi are all paraphrasing Al Jolson now.  "You think ObamaCare was unconstitutional and fascist?  You ain’t seen nothin’ yet…"

Meanwhile, the Dems are trying to delete the word "navigable" from the 1972 Clean Water Act.  (Note the year.  The Dems passed it by overriding Nixon’s veto.)  While the Constitution contains no enumerated power for control over "navigable waters," traditional case law gives federal jurisdiction over them under the Commerce Clause (Article I, Section 8, Clause 3 "to regulate commerce… among the several states").

The Environmental Protection Agency was given regulatory authority to administer the CWA. (Note that there is no constitutional authority whatever for the existence of the EPA.  It was created, not legislatively by Congress, but by a Presidential Executive Order by Nixon in 1970.)  Naturally, the EPA proceeded to interpret "navigable waters" as the remotest ditch or pond however imaginatively connected to a waterway big enough for ships.

In 2006, however, in Rapanos v. United States, the Supreme Court (5-4) spanked the EPA and said navigable means navigable.

When the GOP takes control of Congress next January, Doc Hastings (R-WA) will be Chairman of the House Natural Resources Committee.  Doc understands the stakes:

"If this bill (to delete ‘navigable’) were to become law, there’d be no body of water in America that wouldn’t be at risk of job-killing federal regulation – from farmers’ irrigation canals to backyard ponds and streams to mud puddles left by rainstorms."

After January, Doc will be in a position to defund the EPA as there is no legislative basis for its existence.  Before very long, you can expect a delegation of TeaPartyers to pay him a visit and discuss this.

One benefit – you’d think – of the eruption of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano in Iceland last week would be this: that its massive disruption of life and travel in northern Europe could cause folks to understand how puny our activities are compared to nature’s.

Not a chance.  In the confirmation-that-they-are-in-fact-insane department, scientists at the prestigious British Royal Society are proclaiming that man-made global warming can "trigger" earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.  You can’t make this up.

A lunatic posing as a scientist at University College London talks of ice sheets melting causing land rebounds which can trigger these disasters – and doesn’t mention such scenarios, if possible at all, would take thousands of years.  Yet the Royal Society – once led by the greatest minds in the history of science such as Sir Isaac Newton – has actually put its stamp of approval on this tripe.

It’s one thing for the politically motivated science illiterates at Hillary Clinton’s State Department to issue a US Climate Action Report this week claiming "Global warming is unequivocal and primarily human-induced."  But for the Royal Society to agree and agree further that it causes earthquakes is insane.  Bordering on criminally insane, for this is the destruction of  mankind’s greatest achievement:  science itself.

There is a new movie out entitled The Age of Stupid.  It’s a ghastly amateurish dystopian future flick about the world of 2055 destroyed because "we didn’t stop climate change when we had the chance" (i.e. now).  The title is cosmically ironic – for The Age of Stupid could not be a better name for the era we are living in at this moment.

With any luck, that’s what our grand and great-grand kids will call this present time in history.  "How could they have been so stupid to believe in something so moronic as ‘man-made global warming’ and elect a Zero to be president of the US back then?" they’ll scratch their heads and ask.  It’ll be a real historical mystery to them.

Oh, by the way, the skies have been crystal clear all week here in Cyprus.  And  Eyjafjallajökull, if you’re curious, means island (eyja) mountain (fjall) glacier (jökull), and is pronounced aye-ah fiat-la yuh-kootle.

You saw the stories this week about the strangely premature unveiling of the new $100 bill – which, since it won’t be produced until next February, gives counterfeiters a big heads up on how to fake it.  Especially the best in the business – the Norks.

For some time now, North Korea has been producing millions of extremely well-done fake $100 bills called "supernotes" – so good that experts have a hard time spotting the differences between fake and real.

Yesterday (4/22), reports out of South Korea are that the Norks, in response to the Treasury’s announcement of the new "100 dollar Benjamins," have begun flooding the China-North Korea border towns with supernotes to "unload their inventory" of the fakes.

Due to the sudden oversupply of the fakes, combined with their quality, the value of the US dollar in northern China has plummeted by as much as 80%.  Gresham’s Law in action!  Better not bring dollars to do business in China.

Just think of what an 80% drop in purchasing power means.  That’s where we’re headed.  Actual physical currency is only a tiny fraction of the trillions of fake dollars Zero and the Dems in Congress are creating electronically in government computers.  Gresham’s Law – bad money chases out the good – has frightening power.

We’re soon to understand just how frightening.  The Norks are penne-ante counterfeiters compared to the Democrats in Washington.  They have a clear and conscious goal:  to impoverish the Republican base via hyper-inflation.

I want you to focus long and hard on that last sentence.  We are up against evil unleashed.

What’s half-full about this?  That it’s creating "a perfect storm of conditions associated with distrust of government," according to a Pew Research study issued this week (4/19).  That storm should break upon the Democrats this November.

Knowledgeable election analysts I know are predicting – privately because it seems so extreme they don’t want to go public – the Dems could suffer the greatest loss of House seats since before World War II, between 80 to 100 seats.  It will be far larger, they say, than the Dem loss of 54 seats in 1994 that gave the Republicans their first majority in 42 years (1952).

The Senate won’t be as dramatic a flip, for a giant loss of 10 seats is what it would take for the Dems to barely lose their majority (a loss of 41 seats and they lose theirs in the House).

But the House is where the Dems, their party and their agenda, can be demolished – for as we know, if the House doesn’t appropriate the funding, then the Dems’ fascist agenda is defunded and defunct.

It won’t be easy.  It’ll be war with Zero, and vast amounts of Democrat wreckage to repair – but at least freedom and prosperity will have a chance again in America.

We can call this "perfect storm" brewing the Tea Party Storm.  It’s the TeaPartyers who are the hope of America.  The real hope, not the Hope of Zero.

With that, I’ve got to jet – literally – and race back home where my son Jackson is performing in his high school.  With all this evil garbage in Washington, always bear in mind what really counts – the love and comfort of your family and friends.
