HALF-FULL REPORT 11/20/09

A lot of very funny things happened this week, like the President of the United States bowing to this little Japanese guy, but surely one of the most ironic of them was in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

As the entire world knows as it was treated as a global news event, Sarah Palin was at the Grand Rapids Barnes & Noble bookstore to launch her book, Going Rogue.  Even the leftie hyper-liberal Associated Press gushed:

"College students ditched class, employees skipped work and some huddled in the cold overnight just to make sure they get an orange wristband Wednesday (11/18) that would let them meet Sarah Palin.  Thousands gathered outside a Barnes & Noble and chanted ‘Palin! Palin! Palin!’"

And the irony?  While those thousands were gathered at Barnes & Noble along with reporters from all over the planet, including Andrea Mitchell of MSNBC, across town at Schuler Books & Music another booksigning was taking place.  There were a few people and not a reporter in sight.  The book was entitled A Simple Christmas.  The author?  Sarah’s rival for 2012, Mike Huckabee.

OK, one reporter did stop by, from the Grand Rapids Press local newspaper.  To his credit, Huckabee didn’t begrudge Palin one bit – and even praised her as "the GOP’s rock star."  You betcha, Huck.

Perhaps you’ve enjoyed reading about how Israel has "brushed off" Zero’s demands for no more Jews in Jerusalem.  Zero has now stamped his foot and claimed it was "dangerous" for Israel to ignore him and build more homes for its citizens.  Israel shrugs.

By contrast, here is Sarah Palin’s answer to Barbara Walters on the issue:

"I disagree with the Obama administration on that.  I believe that the Jewish settlements should be allowed to be expanded upon, because that population of Israel is going to grow. More and more Jewish people will be flocking to Israel in the days and weeks and months ahead. And I don’t think that the Obama administration has any right to tell Israel that the Jewish settlements cannot expand."

She also told Walters that she "will forever question the (McCain) campaign for "prohibiting discussion" about Rev. Jeremiah Wright.  "Too many people are so politically correct for fear of being called a racist," Palin said. "I don’t subscribe to that."

Oh, and she also referred to Steve Schmidt, McCain’s campaign advisor who accused her of "going rogue" and has attacked her so much of late as the kind of boyfriend who says, "I love you, you’re perfect, now change."  The full interview will be shown tonight (11/20) on ABC’s 20/20 show.

It is becoming blindingly obvious that Zero’s antipathy to Israel is due to his being a Third World America/Israel-hating Moslem at heart.  There couldn’t be clearer evidence for this than his appointing radical Moslems to key positions in the Department of Homeland Security.

There was a warning shot of this last spring when he appointed a veil-wearing Islamist advocate of Sharia law, Dalia Mogahed, to his Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships.  But at least she didn’t have access to classified intelligence on our national security.

Not so with Arif Alikhan, who has been appointed  Assistant Secretary for Policy Development in the Department of Homeland Security. His qualification was being Deputy Mayor (appointed by pro-illegal alien mayor Antonio Villaraigosa) of Los Angeles in charge of Homeland Security.

His principal effort in this job was to eliminate the LA Police Department’s program of monitoring the radical Moslem mosques and madressahs sprouting up in LA like weeds, some of which provided support for the 9/11 terrorists.

Born of Pakistani immigrants, Alikhan is well known for his hatred of Israel, his support of the terrorist organization Hezbollah – which he calls a "liberation movement" – and his opposition to any effort of the US to oppose Islamic terrorism.

Then, on October 23, the long-time Director of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC), Kareem Shora, was appointed Senior Advisor to the Department of Homeland Security.

In his capacity at ADC, the Syrian-born Shora would refer to jihadist terrorists as "heroes," denounce labeling of Hamas as a terrorist organization, make constant efforts to whitewash any Moslem act of terrorism, and call on the US to stop providing Israel with weapons because of alleged "atrocities" against Arabs.

We should not be surprised that someone who bows to the King of Saudi Arabia would do this.  What did America expect by electing someone with three Moslem names and attends a church that prays for God to damn America?

Zero’s election is an ultimate object lesson regarding the masochism of the fear of envy.

The only reason he was elected was because of this fear, which in this case was completely unredeemably racist.  If Zero were white, no one would have ever given him the time of day. But the country was afraid of black envy.

America’s inability to condemn home-grown Moslem terrorism such as the Ft. Hood murders shows our country and even our military is paralyzed with the fear of envy.  We are actually afraid of being envied by Moslems!

Fear of envy is The Poison That Is Killing The West – the title of one of many TTP articles on envy-fear compiled in the Evil Eye section linked in the left side bar.  It is killing America.  It is why we are allowing Zero to pursue his conscious goal of destroying our country.  Zero is only the instrument of our destruction.  The source is masochistic fear of the Evil Eye.

We may know how close we are to destruction by tomorrow night.  Once a filibuster in the Senate fails and a "motion to proceed" passes, 97% of bills historically are passed on the floor.  You all know there is a $100 million Louisiana Purchase of Mary Landrieu tucked in the Reid bill.  The Pubs are now fine-toothing its 2000+ pages to find the payoffs for Ben Nelson, Blanche Lincoln, and few others.

Reid needs all 60 votes from his side, for this time Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins will vote no.  The one guy who can’t be bought is Joe Lieberman.  He may deny Reid that 60th vote.  Pray that he does.

You’ve heard the saying that if something sounds too good to be true, it is.  Thus, the Too Good To Be True Prize for the week is the cover story of the trash tabloid Globe:

o_lung.jpg

It is not gloating to wish this were so.  You don’t wish suffering like this upon anyone save for folks like Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.  It’s a matter of wishing for America’s salvation.

The same sort of thing is involved with the flap over the Pray for Obama: Psalm 109:8 t-shirt.  Praying to God to destroy your enemies is not exactly a new idea.  To call it an assassination threat is ludicrous – especially when all those claiming it is were never bothered by movie films fantasizing about the assassination of George Bush.

Yet the moral of the flap nonetheless is that it is the responsibility of American voters to rid the White House of Zero, not divine vengeance.  They are the ones who got our country into this mess, not God.  It’s their job to get us out.  Still, his mother died of cancer, he smokes a pack a day, and he has unaccountably lost 25 pounds……

The assessment of Zero in China?  After meeting and talking with him at length, the Chicoms have concluded he is a gutless weakling, someone who is feichang rongyi dabai, easily defeated.

He so unimpressed Chinese people that he made them long for George W. Bush.  As one popular blogger, Zhao Dezhu, posted, Zero’s visit made him miss Bush because while "he couldn’t speak with flowery language and even made grammatical mistakes, he spoke as plainly as an American farmer."  Zero, on the other hand, "speaks with sweet but empty words."

Hard to fool them Chinese circle flies.

We talked this week about Honduras being a domino of freedom in Central America.  The election there is just nine days away, Nov. 29.  Another such domino may fall in South America a couple of weeks later.

On December 13, Chile holds national elections, including for the presidency.  The current president, Michelle Bachelet, cannot serve another consecutive term.  She is a socialist, yet Chile‘s free market system established by Augusto Pinochet has become too entrenched for her to overthrow.  The economy has nonetheless suffered due to her leftism.

One reason the free market is so well established is because of the enormous success of the privatization of Chile‘s social security system, developed by Chilean economist Jose Piñera.  His brother, Sebastian Piñera, is a pro-capitalist self-made billionaire (worth $1.3 billion that he entrepreneurally earned – he inherited nothing) with a Ph.D. in business economics from Harvard.

On December 13, he may be elected president of Chile.  He’s way ahead in the polls.  His opponent is Eduardo Frei, an over-the-hill leftie who was president back in the 1990s.  Chile has been there and done that.

It may take a runoff (scheduled for January 17), as the winner must get an absolute majority of votes cast not just a plurality, and there are several other candidates.  But Piñera’s on track to run Chile with a full throttle free market economy and a foreign policy that allies with Peru‘s Alan Garcia, Colombia‘s Alvaro Uribe, and Panama‘s Ricardo Martinelli (another self-made billionaire) staunchly against Hugo Chavez.

Chile may be on the verge of being a very interesting place.  Let’s keep our eyes on it.

Let’s close with something heartwarmingly cool.  Xerox Corporation has a website called Let’s Say Thanks.  Logging on to it may well bring tears to your eyes.  The "thanks" are to our soldiers fighting in harm’s way in Iraq and Afghanistan.

On the site, you can pick a colorful thank you card – scroll across them with the kind of hard to see "more" button above them – or just click on "view all designs."  The cards were all drawn with crayons by American schoolkids.  I picked the one that said "U.S. soldiers rock!!!"  Then you enter your name and hometown (no other info) and select a message.  The two I especially liked are:

·        Thank you for all you do. You portray what we Americans value most…freedom. Thank you for your commitment and bravery. May this card help bring you good health, clarity of mind and the courage you need to be successful. Each of you play such an important role in protecting our country. Please know that we are all behind your efforts and appreciate you and pray for you daily. You are all heroes to us!

·        I cannot find the words to express how grateful my family and I are that you are putting yourself in harm’s way to protect our country. The U.S.A. is the land of the free and the home of the brave…but only because of courageous people like you. We wish you and your fellow troop members complete safety throughout your tour of duty. May you return home soon to a true hero’s welcome. Thank you.

Or you can write your own message by clicking "other."  Then you click "submit" and that’s it – Xerox will mail your thank you card to a soldier chosen at random out there fighting for our freedom.  You can send as many as you’d like.

The HFR cannot raise a glass high enough in praise of Xerox’s patriotism.
