HALF-FULL REPORT 09/18/09

Maybe we should call this The Cornucopia Report this week.  The deluge of astonishingly good news keeps pouring down, with the moonbat left in response drowning in its own bile of rage and going off the cliff berserk-o.

Where to begin amidst this treasure trove?  Of course:  the Million Conservative March on Washington last Saturday (9/12).  With the LFM (Lunatic Fringe Media) desperately ignoring and disparaging it – reporting, e.g., that there were only "tens of thousands" when there were at least close to a million or more – this event marks a genuine turning point in American political history.

The only other event comparable was the August 28,1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom which launched the modern civil rights movement and at which Dr. Martin Luther King gave his famous "I Have A Dream" speech at the Lincoln Memorial.

The Million Conservative March filling the entire Washington Mall launches a modern Constitutional Movement that may well succeed in reversing the liberal tide of American cultural destruction and unconstitutional expansion of federal government power over our lives.

(For a set of photos from the march provided by Marco The Wizard, go here.)

There was, however, one major lack and disappointment.  Everyone remembers (or learns about in school) that 1963 event because of King’s speech.  Where was our Dr. King?  Where was the speech that the vast multitude of conservatives wanted to hear?  In other words, where the hell was Sarah Palin?

If there’s a parade of history, get out in front and lead it – or the parade and history will pass you by.  Carpe diem – or your day will be gone.  Sarah had better stop hiding from the world, stop confining herself to posts on Facebook, or this Teaparty Juggernaut will quickly find other leaders.  It’s not too late, Sarah, but you are burning daylight.

***
Emergence of the Constitutional Movement was clear this week with Investor Business Daily asking, "Is Health Care Reform Constitutional?" and the Wall Street Journal chiming in, Mandatory Insurance Is Unconstitutional.

"Where in the U.S. Constitution does it say the government can force people to buy health insurance? And by what authority does it prohibit the purchasing of insurance across state lines?"  asks IBD.

This is the question to ask – and it should be asked of every government activity.  Where there is an enumerated power, like having a military or federal courts, fine.  But where in the U.S. Constitution does it say the government can have a Department of Education?  And by what authority does it prohibit the purchasing of incandescent light bulbs?

Here we go, folks.  Back to Constitutional Government.  That’s our cause.  And those million Teaparty-ers on the Mall demonstrated that we will prevail.

***
Besides those million Teaparty-ers, it’s blindingly obvious who the HFR Heroes of the Week are:  Hannah Giles and James O’Keefe.  Richard Rahn has described their heroic patriotism.

Nobody on earth had heard of these kids, whose combined age is 45, save for their parents, less than two weeks ago – and they have singlehandedly destroyed one of the most dangerously powerful organizations of the left, ACORN.

It took less than two weeks, with their videos on BigGovernment.com and Glenn Beck, to:  1.  on Friday (9/11) get the Census Bureau to sever all ties with ACORN for the 2010 Census.  2.  on Monday (9/14) get the Senate – by a vote of 83-7 – to strip all HUD grant funding from ACORN.  3.  on Thursday (9/17) get the House – by a vote of 345-75 – to strip all federal funding of any kind from ACORN.  The Senate will soon follow suit and Zero will sign the bill.

Folks – two amateur college kids did this!  Sure gives you confidence in America’s future with kids like this (not to mention those now serving in our military, performing heroically every day in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere).

This is also another overwhelming example of the vulnerability of the Left.  Just like with the simple two-word devastations of "death panels" and "You lie!," the simple goofy stunt of Giles and O’Keefe that cost a few thousand bucks to pull off has kicked the Left in the cojones and has them writhing on the ground.

The Left doesn’t know what’s hit them, so let me explain this to their dazed brains:  they are being Alinsky-ized.  Their own guide book of political destruction, written by Saul Alinsky, is being thrown back at them.

Rule #1 is make it personal.  Single out a single target, like George Bush, and demonize it endlessly until it is ruined.  That’s what Glenn Beck did to Van Jones, what the Joker Posters did to Zero, what Giles & O’Keefe did to ACORN, what’s going to happen next to Zero’s Czars, to Charlie Rangel, and who knows else for this is a very target-rich environment.

This is so much fun.  One of the funnier items now is Zero’s race away from ACORN, denying he ever had anything to do with the organization he once worked for as a trainer in "community organizing."

How long will it be before ACORN’s endorsement of him is scrubbed from his own Organizing for America website, mybarackobama.com?  Not long, so if this link no longer works, the HFR was thoughtfully appended the full ACORN endorsement, dated February 21, 2008, below.

Can anyone find a picture of Zero enjoying a slice of gruyere or brie?  We could then entitle the picture "Cheese-eating Surrender Monkey."  Who knew the guy was French?

Jokes aside, Zero selling out Eastern Europe to Russia by canceling their missile defense is the most craven act of betrayal of US allies in modern times.  Putin now has free rein to re-colonize Eastern Europe, beginning with his main target, Ukraine.

As we discussed at the Rendezvous, this will begin with a destabilization of the Crimea, with its substantial population of ethnic Russians many of whom have been given Russian citizenship.  The same ploy was used in the Georgian regions of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, giving the Kremlin a pretext for sending in Russian troops to protect "Russian citizens."

Unless Ukraine elects a Russian puppet as its president next January 17, who recolonizes Ukraine voluntarily, expect a Georgian-type invasion or Kremlin-sponsored insurrection (starting in Sevastopol where the Russian Black Sea Fleet is based) by next spring.

The only silver lining here is that this is such overt undeniable damage to our national security that calls for Zero’s resignation and/or impeachment will be increasingly heard.  It’s small beer.  The damage being done, the damage that will continue to be done for the foreseeable future under this president, will take a long, long time from which to recover.

At least, millions of Americans are now aware of how little their president cares for their country’s security.

Want to be grossed out?  Warning — serious yuck factor ahead.

In 1980, when Zero was a 19 year-old sophomore at Occidental College, he wrote a poem entitled "Pop" that has been published in "The Best American Poetry" series.

The surrogate father whom he called Pop was Frank Marshall Davis, a pornographer, bisexual child molester, and virulently anti-American Communist.  Due to Zero’s effeminate lack of masculinity, there’s always been a question if there was a sexual aspect to his relationship with his "mentor."

Perhaps not, but there is this line in Pop (the entire poem is provided in this link) that makes one queasy:

Pop…
Points out the same amber
Stain on his shorts that I’ve got on mine and
Makes me smell his smell, coming
From me

***
Frank Marshall Davis was also a rabid black racist.  Many white voters last November believed that by electing a black (actually half-black) president, the endless accusations of racism against them would end.

Three days after Zero’s election (11/07/08), in There’s Got To Be An Elephant In Here Somewhere, I explained why it was "stupefyingly naïve" to believe that:

"…this election ‘heals’ the wound of racism and the legacy of slavery, so that nevermore can Sharpton-type race hustlers claim that America is an incurably racist nation.

This is delusionary.  Accusations of racism are going to increase, not vanish.  The left’s mantra going into this election was that the only possible reason for not voting for NMP was racism.  Yet roughly 47% of voters or about 57 million voted for McCain instead.  That’s 57 million racists!  Racism is still a massive, gigantic problem haunting America’s soul, it is still America’s Original Sin – and every failure of NMP and the Dems running Congress can be blamed on it."

And so it has come to pass.

Newsweek magazine says your baby is a racist; anti-Semite Jimmy Carter calls Joe Wilson a racist; the more Zero’s popularity falls, the more the left, from the ABC/NBC/CBS news anchors to James Carville to the Black Congressional Caucus, call  Zero’s critics racist.

It’s all so predictable – and so boring.  As TTP’s Jack Kelly says, "The last refuge of a Democrat scoundrel is the accusation of racism."  Question is: when that refuge fails, what do the Democrats do then?

For the vast majority of Americans, that America elected a black president is proof America is not racist.  Period.  End of story.  Next subject.  The racist accusation is so over, so yesterday, so "huh?"

Yet the more the Dems fail, the more they push on the racist string, becoming ever more frantically accusatory, screaming racist! racist!  ever more loudly, for that’s all they got left.  They are now so unhinged that Pelosi, eyes welling up with phony tears, accuses Teaparty-ers of being assassins.

The Dems are losing it and fast, going straight off the rails.  No wonder civil war has broken out between them in both the House and Senate over ObamaCare.

There are some six dozen in the House and several in the Senate who know they can’t be reelected next year if they vote for ObamaCare or Cap & Trade.  So both programs that Zero has bet his farm on are going down in flames.  ACORN has gone down in flames.  The whole radical left Dem agenda is going down in flames – and with full control of Congress, the White House, and the media!

It is a truly astonishing turn of events.  Let’s celebrate – just for the moment, then re-double our efforts.

We’ll end this Cornucopia Report with one item from the You Can’t Make This Stuff Up department.  No doubt qualifying as the Stupidest Headline of the Week is:

African Condom Shortage Said to Worsen Climate Impact

Another example of the Left going wacko.

So wacko that even liberal comedian Jon Stewart of The Daily Show can’t stand it anymore.  Enjoy then his takedown of the LFM regarding the ACORN scandal, which he calls The Audacity of Hos.

ACORN Political Action Committee Endorses Obama
By Sam Graham-Felsen Feb 21st, 2008 at 6:36 pm EST
NEW ORLEANS, LA — ACORN’s Political Action Committee today announced that it has endorsed Sen. Barack Obama for President.

ACORN PAC’s representatives went through an extensive process of interviewing each of the major Democratic candidates. ACORN is a national anti-poverty organization which has hundreds of thousands of members in low- and moderate-income neighborhoods in 104 cities.

"Last night, Sen. Obama received the more than necessary two-thirds of the majority needed from our elected national leadership to secure the endorsement," said Maude Hurd, ACORN’s National President. "Over the past months, we have worked with the leading candidates; ACORN’s members have deep appreciation and respect for Senators Clinton and Edwards and their work on behalf of our communities. What it came down to was that Senator Obama is the candidate who best understands and can affect change on the issues ACORN cares about like stopping foreclosures, enacting fair and comprehensive immigration reform, and building stronger and safer communities across America."

Alicia Russell of Arizona, ACORN’s western regional representative, said Obama relates to the issues facing low- and moderate-income people. "I think he will commit himself to providing us the necessary path for the low-income and moderate-income families to improve their lives," Russell said. "He’s on the same level as we are, and sees our issues as we do."

In the past three weeks, Sen. Obama has met with ACORN leaders regarding foreclosure prevention solutions, including a roundtable discussion on Tuesday in San Antonio.

"Texas ACORN members are proud to stand with Senator Obama in calling for fundamental change in our economy to protect homeowners and neighborhoods from the scourge of foreclosures that is sweeping communities across Texas," said Texas ACORN president Toni McElroy.

When Obama met with ACORN leaders in November, he reminded them of his history with ACORN and his beginnings in Illinois as a Project Vote organizer, a nonprofit focused on voter rights and education.  Senator Obama said, "I come out of a grassroots organizing background. That’s what I did for three and half years before I went to law school.   That’s the reason I moved to Chicago was to organize. So this is something that I know personally, the work you do, the importance of it.  I’ve been fighting alongside ACORN on issues you care about my entire career.  Even before I was an elected official, when I ran Project Vote voter registration drive in Illinois, ACORN was smack dab in the middle of it, and we appreciate your work."

ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) is the nation’s largest community organization of low- and  moderate-income families, with over 350,000 member families  organized into 800 neighborhood chapters in 104 cities across the  country.  Since 1970 ACORN has taken action and won victories on   issues of concern to  its  members, including better housing for  first time homebuyers and tenants, living wages for low-wage workers, more investment in our communities from banks and governments, and better public schools.
