HALF-FULL REPORT 09/11/09

It is certainly and abundantly clear who is the HFR Hero of the Week this week: Congressman Joe Wilson of South Carolina.  Finally, a Republican in Congress who embodies speaking truth to power.

"You lie!" now takes its place in history along with "death panels" demonstrating the politically castrative power of two simple words.  Sarah Palin’s two words were a brilliantly limbic deligitimization of Zero’s key program.  Joe Wilson’s two words were an emotional outburst that will deligitimize Zero’s entire presidency.

Wilson is who all conservatives long for, a Republican with balls.  The species is almost extinct.  The chief of staff of a prominent Republican Congressman confirmed to me this morning that the GOP House leadership, Minority Leader John Boehner and Minority Whip Eric Cantor, demanded Wilson make a formal apology on the House floor – and that Wilson refused.

When the chief of staff started defending Cantor and blaming Wilson, I lost my temper.  "When are you guys ever going to acquire a set of gonads?  When are your brains ever going to be connected to your spines?  Wilson is now a flat-out hero to millions!  There will be You lie! signs throughout the 50,000 TeaParty marchers on the Mall tomorrow, You lie! bumper stickers on cars in every state, shouts of You lie! at every Town Hall held by a Democrat – or RINO.  People are sick and tired of pussy wimp-out Republican limp dicks!  When are you guys going to figure this out?!"

I don’t know if he’ll speak to me again. I’ve known him for years, but frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.

After rebuffing demands for more groveling, Wilson promptly issued what FoxNews called a "combative fund-raising video," in which he declared he "will not be muzzled."

Overnight, there are "Joe Wilson for President 2012,"  "Joe Wilson – America’s Congressman," and "You Lie!" caps, mugs, shirts, and bumper stickers selling like hotcakes on Zazzle.

The Left, of course, is in mouth-foaming rage and donating to his 2010 Dem opponent.  One very good way to stand up for America on this 9/11 would be to contribute to Joe’s re-election campaign Joe Wilson for Congress.com.  I sure am.

"He’s a novice," was one Congressman’s reaction to Zero’s speech to Congress on Wednesday (9/09).

"He came into office with more political capital than any president in memory, perhaps ever.  And he’s burned it all up, just torched it.  He’s like one of those poor people who win a lottery, become an instant millionaire, binge out on stupid spending sprees, and a year later is broke again."

We were having a cup of coffee in his office.  He continued, "I’ve looked at him closely now.  I’ve come to the conclusion he’s not very smart.  He’s very glib, very charming and charismatic, but really not bright.  Bush was much smarter, Clinton way, way smarter.  And you can always tell when he’s lying."

"When can you tell that?" I asked.

"When his lips are moving.  Yes, it’s an old joke, but in his case, it’s true.  You cannot trust a single word that comes out of his mouth.  His promises are completely worthless.  We (meaning Republican Congressmen) all know we cannot trust him in any way."

He paused for a moment.  "I’ve been here (in Congress) for a long time, and I’m used to people with oversized egos.  But this guy’s ego is on another level of arrogance and disconnection with reality.  It’s like he’s nothing but a giant bloated ego, an ego balloon with nothing inside but empty air."

"That speech he gave to schoolchildren this week (9/08) – guess how many times he used the word ‘I’," I asked.  "I heard that he kept saying ‘I’ to these kids, talking about himself more than them, so I got the text of the speech and counted the I’s."

He waited for the answer.  "54 times.  In one short speech."

He shook his head.  "Compare that to Reagan’s speeches.  Talk to any of the Reagan speechwriters, and they’ll tell you President Reagan would cross out an ‘I’ whenever he could in any of his speeches as he would always do the final edit.  He had a conscious policy of using ‘I’ as little as possible."

He sighed.  "I suppose I should be happy as a Republican that his presidency is a dead horse, but I’m sad as an American.  If the Democrats were smart, they’d stop hysterically flogging the dead horse and find another horse fast like Biden, but their anger and leftism makes them stupid so they’ll keep flogging away.  What makes me sad is the damage being done to so many people – no jobs, no businesses, the dollar more worthless by the day.  It’s a very, very deep hole we’ll have to dig ourselves out of after 2010 and 2012."

"But enough of that," he said.  "We need to do something before you leave."  He broke out a bottle of Tres Generaciones and two shot glasses.  "Toasting with coffee is just wrong," he noted as he filled the glasses neat.

We raised them, he spoke.  "On this eve of September 11, Jack, let us remember the thousands of Americans murdered by Moslem terrorists eight years ago, and let us thank the thousands of American soldiers who are risking their lives trying to prevent another September 11.  May God bless them, may God bless America."

***
On this sacred day of September 11, it is hard to think of what could more dishonor those murdered on this day than to politicize their deaths, using them to further leftist collectivist goals.

Last April, a president who has no intention of defending his country from Moslem hatred signed a bill into law named after a man who dedicated his life to damaging his country as much as he could.

The Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act designated this sacred day of September 11 as a National Day of Service and Remembrance.  It’s purpose is to persuade Americans to forget about patriotism, national security, and the threat of Moslem terrorism – themes any normal American would want emphasized on this day – and "greenwash" September 11 instead, to suffuse it with themes of government-sponsored "community service" and statist radical environmentalism.

And just what are we supposed to have "Remembrance" of?  Why they hate us?  Why America "brought the 9/11 attack upon itself"?  What we need to remember and never forget is the depraved anti-human evil that needs to be exorcized from Islam.

If you wish to reflect upon this today, I suggest you select one or more articles on Islam in To The Point.  They are listed in the Islam category in the right side bar of the home page.  There are 33 articles in all – choose those you find intriguing.

Radical Islam is an apotheosis of evil and threat to America greater than that of Communism.  That we have a president who wants us on this day to forget and ignore that, and focus instead on recycling and global warming, shows how profoundly non-American he is.  Then again, that’s what the Democrat Party and its radical leftist supporters have profoundly become as well.
