HALF-FULL REPORT 05/01/09

It’s glorious to be in Paris on May Day with a beautiful woman – especially if she’s your wife.  We’re here this week to see our youngest son who’s spending his junior year in high school studying in France.

The first thing you’d normally notice now about the streets in Paris is that every other vehicle seems to be a Smart Car – so small it’s as long as most cars are wide (you can park it sideways or "nose-in" facing the curb).

But today is different – it’s May Day, when the streets are filled with sellers of muguets, the sweet-smelling flowers of Lillies of the Valley.  Every man buys a muguet for his sweetheart.  I am no different.

Unfortunately, communists and lefties of every stripe use May Day – a happy day of celebration of springtime since ancient times – to vent their envious hatred of capitalist prosperity.  Demonstrations and protests took place today in hundreds of French cities – and Paris was no exception.

Seeing these angry "workers" and "students" marching along in rage and resentment demanding the world provide them with a living while ignorantly denouncing the only economic system that can provide it is an amusing "Walpole moment."

As in Horace Walpole, who observed, "This world is a comedy to those that think, a tragedy to those that feel." (See What We Have Got and They Have Not.)

Get ready, however, for such Walpole moments to arrive in America.  The Washington Post is reporting that 90% of college students seeking career counseling at 200 universities want the government to give them a job.

But before you conclude that kids today – the so-called Y Generation – are a bunch of metrosexual beggar-losers with no initiative who want the government to take care of them like their Daddy and Mommy, consider a new student group that’s forming chapters in colleges across the country.

It’s named Youth for Western Civilization, and calls itself "the West’s right-wing youth movement."

YWC "is focused on the support of Western history, identity, high culture, and pride and opposition to radical multiculturalism, political correctness, racial preferences, mass immigration, and socialism."  It’s for students "who are proud to be members of the West and want to work in defense of their people, culture, and traditions."  Very cool.

The founder of YWC is an international studies major at American University in DC, Kevin DeAnna.  He’s a protégé of my friend of many years, Morton Blackwell, president of The Leadership Institute.

YWC’s honorary chairman is former congressman Tom Tancredo.  His April 14 speech at the University of North Carolina – sponsored by YWC – was disrupted by leftie protestors.  One of them denounced YWC as "racist" to a news reporter, because "‘Western’ is a veiled term that means ‘white’."

This leftie, named Tyler Oakley, is of course white himself.  He epitomizes liberal self-hatred – hatred of his race, his country, his culture, his civilization, and even his own species.  He is clueless to the fact that he is the racist, not Kevin DeAnna.  A racist hatred of one’s own race – auto-racism – is a defining characteristic of the white liberal mind.

I plan to be a supporter of Youth for Western Civilization.  I hope you will too – for it’s the Kevin DeAnnas, not the Tyler Oakleys, who should be the future of America.

With my little laptop perched on a table of a sidewalk café on the Left Bank, I’m enjoying a glass of Merlot and reading the New York Post’s compendium of 100 Days – 100 Mistakes.  Virtually the entire amazing array of gaffes, blunders, stupidities, and dangerous moves made by Zero is listed.

No wonder Rasmussen is polling only 34% of strong approval for him.  (He’s the only pollster you can trust now; the rest are so in the tank for Zero their polls are fairy tales.)

Yet it is too beautiful a May Day to spoil it by contemplating the Curse of Zero.  Or the Curse of the Envious Left which blights this day.  This should be a day of celebration, of the rebirth of spring, of winter being finally gone.  So we could devote a bit of thought today on how to have a rebirth of America with the winter of Zero in the past.

Last week in Does America Deserve This President?, I referred to a project that I am working on to do just this: The Achilles Project.   As I said, its goal is to kick Fedzilla in the huevos and rescue millions of Americans from hyper-inflationary financial destitution.

I really appreciate how many of you expressed an interest and desire to support it or get involved.

Because the venture involves proprietary technology and patents pending, I cannot go into details here while it is in the developmental stages.

There are roles emerging for leadership, strategic planning, and in advisory capacities.  It is structured as a commercial venture and there are various possibilities for participation, including an Advisory Board in formation.

It is most likely to be appropriate for those with backgrounds in business (particularly international business), finance, investment, manufacturing, as well as various aspects of marketing and advertising. Knowledge or interest in precious metals such as gold and silver may be relevant.

If any of these shoes fit you, let’s discuss possibilities. We will have to ask you to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement prior to disclosing any specifics, which will have to be done in person.  For this purpose, I will be having some small private meetings in Washington later this month that you may want to attend.

Let us know by emailing [email protected].  Include whatever background info you consider relevant and contact phone numbers.

Working together we can answer America’s distress call.  For thanks to a linguistic coincidence, that’s also what "may day" means.  It sounds like how the French pronounce  m’aider in their distress call, venez m’aider, come help me.  We can help America.

So – adieu and Happy May Day from Paris.
