CHINA’S ZERO-SUM GAME

The evidence is now as high as Everest that America’s greatest foreign threat is not a bunch of illiterates chanting verses of the Koran and willing to blow themselves up in order to have 72 whores in heaven.  It is Red China.

Yet the Chicoms are not simply a threat to America.  They are the greatest threat to freedom world-wide.  A good example as any is a fellow named Joel Fitzgibbon.

He’s the Defense Minister of Australia, and he’s in town (DC) today (4/09) to meet with his American counterpart Defense Secretary Bobby Gates for the annual Australia-US Ministerial (AUSMIN) meeting.  Gates and his aides will be very cautious in talking to him, however – because Mr. Fitzgibbon has been having an affair with a spy from Chinese Military Intelligence.

Her name is Haiyan "Helen" Liu, born in Shandong, China, and holds dual Australian-Chinese citizenship.  Through the Bank of China, the Er Bu or Second Department of the PLA (People’s Liberation Army) which operates all Chicom military intelligence, financed Ms. Liu’s Wincopy property development company.

As an Er Bu front lady, she has become immensely wealthy, with hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of property in both Australia and China.  She financed Mr. Fitzgibbon’s 1998 campaign for a Labor Party seat in Parliament, and their affair has  continued since.  It paid off big time for the Chicoms when John Howard’s government was defeated in December 2007, Labor leader Kevin Rudd became Prime Minister, and Rudd appointed Fitzgibbon to be in charge of Australia’s military.

The scandal has now exploded all over Australian newspapers.  Not only will Fitzgibbon have to resign, but the Labor government is now in jeopardy – because Kevin Rudd’s best friends are all Chicoms.  He speaks Mandarin fluently, travels to China at every opportunity, promotes China buying up Australia’s natural resources, and consistently takes China’s side in most any dispute.

To many Aussies, it looks like their leader is as much of a Manchurian Candidate as America’s.

Ask yourself:  what has President Zero done in response to the following extraordinary provocations by China – all revealed in the last few days?

*The US Naval Institute announced that China has developed an anti-ship ballistic missile – the Dong Feng 21 – capable of sinking a US aircraft carrier in one strike, and noted:.

"Because the missile employs a complex guidance system, low radar signature and a maneuverability that makes its flight path unpredictable, the odds that it can evade tracking systems to reach its target are increased. It is estimated that the missile can travel at mach 10 (6,000 mph) and reach its maximum range of 2000km (1200 miles) in less than 12 minutes."

Zero’s response?  Have Bobby Gates announce massive cutbacks in the US defense budget, particularly missile defense.

*The Wall Street Journal reported yesterday (4/08) that Chinese spies have placed sabotaging software throughout the US electric grid so it can be destroyed upon command.  The WSJ article did not directly accuse the Chinese, saying only that the sophistication of the spy program made them "suspect."

My sources within the Pentagon, however, say there is no question whatever – it’s the Chicoms.  The Russians don’t have the capacity.

Zero’s response?  Announce today (4/09) that he is placing a pro-Chicom leftist, Rand Beers, in charge of cybersecurity & infrastructure protection for Homeland Security.

When on the National Security Council in the Clinton White House in 1996, the FBI informed him that China was funneling money into Democrat re-election campaigns.  He refused to tell his colleagues or his boss, instead warning the Chinese that the FBI knew what they were doing.

Departing the NSC, he formed a foreign policy think-tank, the National Security Network, that advocates appeasing every enemy America has.  It calls this approach "progressive."  Now Beers has left to work for Zero.  Just the guy to protect us from Chicom cyberthreats.

*The Pentagon revealed Tuesday (4/07) that it has spent $100 million on protecting its computers from cyberattacks.  While amateur hackers are always trying to break in, my sources tell me that overwhelmingly the most powerful, consistent, and sophisticated attacks come from China.  The folks at the Pentagon’s Strategic Command are not excited about Beers’ appointment.

*A Manhattan grand jury yesterday (4/08) indicted a Chinese executive Li Fang Wei and his company LIMMT Economic & Trade for selling tons of restricted materiel through US banks to Iran for its nuclear weapons program.  Like Helen Liu, Li Fang Wei fronts for the PLA, the Chinese military.

Zero’s response?  Announce that the US will participate in face-to-face talks with Iranian officials to "engage Iran in a cooperative manner" regarding "international concerns about its nuclear program."

Zero’s response directly to China about any of this?  Zero.  Not a single word.  Zero’s response to China’s support for every bad guy on the planet, from Putin to Kim Jong Il to Ahmadinutjob to Hugo Chavez?  Zero.

Anywhere and everywhere there is a dictatorship in the world, the Chicoms are there in bed with it.  And there is not a whisper, a hint of a whisper, from Zero about any of it.

The threat of Communist China to America dwarfs that ever posed by the Soviet Union.  His response?  Gut the Pentagon, gut its budget, gut missile defense, gut our nuclear deterrence, and proclaim with pathological naïveté he wants a "nuclear weapons free world."

The depth of contempt China’s leaders have for Zero is bottomless.  The depth of contempt they have for America in electing him president is equally so.  The Chicoms are vastly smarter than the Soviet Russians, vastly more capable, more confident, and more ruthless.

Crystallize this with a thought experiment.  Can you imagine China’s president Hu Jintao traveling anywhere in the world and giving speeches in which he apologized for China’s "arrogance," apologized for his government’s treatment of Tibet or the deaths of millions of its own citizens in the days of Mao?

No you can’t.  It’s ludicrous to even try.

Careful readers will have noticed that at the beginning of this essay, America’s greatest foreign threat was identified as Red China.  What, they asked, is America’s greatest domestic threat – and is it more of a danger to our national security than anything foreign?

The answer is a President of the United States who despises his own country and has no wish to defend it.

Which means:  we – you and I and America – are defenseless in the face of the Chinese.  The only thing we’ve got going for us is that the Chicoms, like Chinese in general, are cautious.  They take a long view and are reluctant to make fast moves.  Which may give us time.

Time to throw the Pelosicrats out of Congress in 2010, time to replace a Traitor President and his idiot sidekick with Palin-Petraeus in 2012.  It’s the only time we have until we run out of time playing China’s Zero-sum Game.
