We open the HFR this week by asking:  Dare we hope for Hillary?

It's a fun debate over who would be easier for McCain to beat, Obambi or the PIAPS, almost as much fun as watching them rip each other's political guts out.  McCain could score a Reagnesque electoral victory over either of these two losers, but I want him to go up against Her Shrillness.

Should Obambi lose the general, the media narrative is completely predictable:  Racist America.  A black lost because of racist white America.  We'll be tortured with an endless threnody of guilt-mongering.  The entire media & Democrat campaign theme will be in October:  anyone who doesn't vote for the black guy is a racist;  not voting for him is ineradicable proof you're a racist.

Oh, and the threats:  blacks will riot in the streets, burn down America, rape and pillage like Huns and Mongols if Obama loses.  So you better vote for him or else.

We'd be spared this if Hillary is the one who takes him down, not the Republicans.  And it gets much better.  Her nomination will utterly demoralize the moonbat fanatics who dominate the Dem Party, utterly deflate the adolescent mania of young voters flocking to the Obamessiah (and who are totally turned off by Hillary), and turn black rage and resentment upon Democrats, not whitey or Americans in general.

So if Hillary gets the nomination, we get a two-fer:  she loses to McCain big time, and the Democrat Party is in ruins.  That's the dream – and now, for all the constant talk about how Barack Hussein's nomination is "inevitable," it might come true.

Her win in Pennsylvania did it, so much so that stories like this have appeared:  Media Jump Ship From Obama To Clinton.

Her message that Obama can't win the White House is resonating at last – for the reason that it's obviously true.

Yes, she's got to win the Indiana primary on May 6, or else she's toast.  But he's got to win the North Carolina primary on the same day – or else he's toast.  Watch for this shift in focus, for the sudden focus over the next 10 days to be:  unless Obama wins North Carolina, his candidacy is over.

Which brings us to the delightful subject of the North Carolina GOP Anti-Obama ad.  It is fabulous:

And it is really funny to see how many smart conservatives – even Rush Limbaugh who's normally really smart – have been suckered by John McCain's denouncing it.

By calling attention to the ad containing a clip of Jeremiah Wright preaching "God damn America," McCain made sure it would get aired on national newscasts and seen by millions all over the country.  He made sure conservatives would send in donations to the NC-GOP to keep it on the air.  All the while, he takes the high-minded lofty approach abhorring dirty politics with the message:  "I want to debate Sen. Obama on the issues, not on his relationship to a racist lunatic pastor."

As Jack Kelly told me:  "James Carville couldn't have done this better."

McCain's move is so brilliant it snookered both Obama and Limbaugh at the same time (although Rush will figure this out soon, I'm sure).  If McCain keeps channeling Carville like this, the six months from now to election are going to be the longest the Dems have ever experienced.

But in the meantime, let's raise a more than half-full glass of congratulations to the brave leaders of the North Carolina Republican Party.  We need more Republicans with their courage.

What we need fewer of is the editorial writers of the New York Times, whose op-eds provide the propaganda marching orders for the entire liberal media.  Looks like we get our wish.

Word is that NYT executive editor Bill Keller has to fire at least 100 people due to the collapse of advertising revenue, and at least 30 of them are editorial writers.  It's described as "the first mass firing of journalists in the paper's 156-year history."

Now that's good news!  Getting fired is the least these vile treasonous folks deserve.  So the HFR raises its glass and says, it's a start!

We close the HFR this week with absolutely the most thrilling and uplifting headline of recent times:

Food Crisis Starts Eclipsing Climate Change Worries

How great is that?  Nothing like a little mass world-wide starvation to make people doubt in the religious dogma of warm-mongering.  Finally – finally – it just may be that people aren't willing to go back to the Stone Age in order to placate Algore.

The corn farmers' lobby will go berserk in every Congressman's office arguing against upcoming bills eliminating ethanol subsidies and mandates.  But 30% of America's corn crop now goes to fuel, not food – food that could feed starving folks.  So time's running out for ethanol scammers.

And just as people aren't willing to starve to make Algore happy, they aren't willing to go without electricity either.  Thus another marvelous headline:

Europe Turns Back to Coal, Raising Climate Fears

Some 50 new coal-fired power plants will soon begin operating throughout Europe.  Italy alone is more than doubling its production of electricity with coal.  This drives the warm-mongers crazy as coal produces so much CO2 – the stuff in the air that plants live on but is considered a pollutant.

It drives the warm-mongers especially nuts because this is in eco-freak Europe – and if Europe is pro-coal, then there is no hope whatever of getting India and China not to be.  This, the news story notes, is "sowing real alarm among environmentalists who warn that it is setting the world on a disastrous trajectory that will make controlling global warming impossible."

The Global Warming Hoax is the single greatest threat to our freedom and prosperity today, the Left's current and most successful rationale for massive government control over our lives since Marxism.

The science continues to mount that it is an utter hoax, as provided by this story:  Sorry to ruin the fun, but an ice age cometh.

But people think with their hearts more than their minds, so the hoax's emotional attraction has trumped the science.  However, people think with their stomachs even more than they do with their hearts.  Hunger may be the solution to how to rid the world of the Myth of Global Warming.

I just can't think of better news than there is "real alarm among environmentalists" now that the world has decided to "make controlling global warming impossible."

The HFR drinks to that.
