DEM DISASTER IN DENVER

All the smart talk seems to be about a "brokered" Republican convention, with the GOP in a confused mess all through the summer until somebody is finally chosen in Minneapolis in early September.

Yet the odds for that are decreasing, and may drastically do so if Romney takes Florida away from McCain next Tuesday.  Huckabee will be history, Giuliani wounded perhaps mortally, all the big conservative guns like Limbaugh will put McCain in the crosshairs, and Mitt Is It for the GOP.

The big difference between the GOP and Dem primaries, particularly those of Super Tuesday (2/5) is that most of the former's are winner-take-all, while the latter's are proportional.

Thus Hillary could "win" all the primaries from now to June and still not get a majority of delegates.  In fact, with the vicious catfight going on between her and Obama Hussein, that's the likely outcome.

In addition, Dem delegates pledged to vote for a candidate in the first round via the primaries number 3,253 – but there are also 796 "superdelegates" (Dem Congressistas and party functionaries) pledged to no one, all itching to be courted and politically bribed.

The bottom line is that unless Hillary can somehow secure a majority of delegates in all those proportional primaries and arm-twist a majority of the superdelegates, it is the Dems who will have a brokered convention, not the GOP.

(This is why the Breck Boy, Little Johnnie Edwards, will be flogging his dead horse all the way.  He hopes to have a big enough block, 10% or more, of delegates that will make him "kingmaker."  In his dreams.  His delegates all fly away after the first ballot.)

We may be treated to the delicious spectacle of a Dem Disaster in Denver at the end of August.

Two reasons for this.  First is the term "brokered" convention is archaic.  The days of "smoke-filled rooms" with state chairmen trading the votes of their entire delegations are so over.  This will be more like herding cats.  It will be an open convention, a retail convention where candidates will have to go after votes one delegate at a time.

Second is the utter, total, absolute and complete ruthless win-at-all-costs amorality of the Clintons will be in full-blown undisguised display.  What Obambi has been subjected to so far is only the warm-up, only a hint of what the Clintons are capable.

It is going to be clear to all at he Denver convention that the Clintons would rather tear the Democrat Party apart, destroy it in November, rather than lose.

The threats, the smears, the mind-boggling viciousness the Clintons will direct at convention delegates will be a marvel to behold.

This disaster is baked in the Dem convention cake unless Obambi loses his nerve and drops out of the race, or the Dems figure things out quickly and turn on the Clintons, giving Obambi a delegate majority.  The former is more likely than the latter.

So hang in there, Obama Hussein!  We're all praying for your spine to stiffen and not snap until the Denver Destruction Derby.
