SHARIA WATCH

Ufda.  That’s Swedish for “Wow” – or more colloquially, “Holy Anti-Islamofascism, Batman!”  The worldwide response to our memo calling for The Creation of an Anti-Islamofascism Movement last week, patterned on the Anti-Communism Movement during the Cold War, has been truly astounding.

The memo has gone “viral,” with blogs reproducing it all over the Internet.  Dozens of groups have contacted us wanting to cooperate and participate.  My co-author Steve Baldwin and I have lost count of the number of supportive emails.

Folks, we have a phenomenon here.  It won’t be long now before we have a movement with an organized infrastructure dedicated to identifying and targeting the weaknesses and vulnerabilities of the Islamofascists.

But as this is being built, people are impatient to start doing something now.  So we are proposing an action program called Sharia Watch.  There will be a Sharia Watch website up soon coordinating folks’ participation across the country, but in the meantime, you can engage in a Sharia Watch on your own in your community.

The real threat of Islamofascism is not terrorism.  The real threat of Islamofascism is its ultimate goal.  Terrorism is only one technique or strategy out of many others, the purpose of which is to accelerate the achievement of that goal.  It is to make us subservient to Islam.

It is to subject us to Islamic religious law, known in Arabic as Sharia.  It is to turn us into inferior infidel non-Moslems known in Arabic as Dhimmis, ruled by and subservient to Moslems.

The standard Moslem method of achieving this is intimidation – Moslem bullying through terrorism or the threat of it, rage and rioting, always pretending to be victims, constantly pushing for concession, and loudly condemning anyone who resists their bullying as “Islamophobic.”

There are a number of “Watch” outfits.  The first was Helsinki Watch, an Anti-Communist group monitoring the Soviet Union’s compliance with the Helsinki Accords in 1978.  It was taken over by liberals, renamed Human Rights Watch, and progressively became more anti-American, anti-Semitic, and pro-homosexual (it blames “conservatives” for AIDS, for example).

Author Robert Spencer has a very useful website called Jihad Watch, reporting on the efforts and activities of Islamofascists worldwide.

Sharia Watch will focus on something I call Fabian Sharia, the Fabian strategy of turning us into Dhimmis one small concession at a time.  Calling folks’ attention to attempts at concessions in their own neighborhood gives them the opportunity to stand up and oppose it.

Moslem taxi drivers in various cities are refusing to take passengers with dogs (even blind passengers with seeing-eye dogs) or carrying liquor (such as duty-free purchased at airports).  Folks can demand their taxi licenses be revoked.

A theology professor at Lipscomb University in Tennessee, Lee Camp, declared this week that Christians must ‘let go’ of some beliefs for the sake of peace with Moslems.  Folks can now demand that he give a talk declaring that “Moslems must let go of some beliefs for the sake of peace with Christians.”

The first meeting of the Islamic Foundation of Iowa (9/23/05) did not take place in a mosque, but in a public school, Central Middle School in Waterloo.  Folks can agitate to deny taxpayer-funded facilities be denied to groups with an Islamic supremacist agenda dedicated to (in the IFI’s own literature) “building an Islamic society in America.”

Democrat Keith Ellison, elected to Congress last month from Minnesota, has announced he will take his oath of office on January 3^rd with a Koran and not a Bible.  He converted to Islam when he was in college.  There should be deluge of demands from folks to their Congressman that he denounce this overt insult to American values and culture.

One of the most blatant attempts to make America subservient to Islam is being made by the most pro-Communist (a defender of Stalin) and pro-Islamofascist Member of Congress, John Conyers.

Last year, while in the minority, he failed to persuade Congress to pass House Resolution 288, innocently entitled as Opposing Religious Intolerance.  I want you to see the entire text in full:

Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives condemning bigotry and religious intolerance, and recognizing that holy books of every religion should be treated with dignity and respect.

Whereas believers of all religions, including the Abrahamic faiths of Christianity, Judaism and Islam, should be treated with respect and dignity;

Whereas the word Islam comes from the Arabic root word meaning “peace” and “submission”;

Whereas there are an estimated 7,000,000 Muslims in America, from a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds, forming an integral part of the social fabric of America;

Whereas the Quran is the holy book for Muslims who recite passages from it in prayer and learn valuable lessons about peace, humanity and spirituality;

Whereas it should never be official policy of the United States Government to disparage the Quran, Islam, or any religion in any way, shape, or form;

Whereas mistreatment of prisoners and disrespect toward the holy book of any religion is unacceptable and against civilized humanity;

Whereas the infringement of an individual’s right to freedom of religion violates the Constitution and laws of the United States: Now, therefore, be it

Resolved, That the House of Representatives-

(1) condemns bigotry, acts of violence, and intolerance against any religious group, including our friends, neighbors, and citizens of the Islamic faith;

(2) declares that the civil rights and civil liberties of all individuals, including those of the Islamic faith, should be protected;

(3) recognizes that the Quran, the holy book of Islam, as any other holy book of any religion, should be treated with dignity and respect; and

(4) calls upon local, State, and Federal authorities to work to prevent bias-motivated crimes and acts against all individuals, including those of the Islamic faith.

The demand that Islam must be singled out as more deserving of respect and tolerance than any other religion is the classic demand Moslems make of infidel Dhimmis.

Conyers is pathologically anti-American.  He will also be the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee starting next month.  As such, he will not attempt to pass this as a non-binding resolution, but to make it into law.  Conyers wants to put anyone who criticizes or expresses “intolerance” for Islam in jail.

We should all work to oppose Conyers’ efforts.  And if somehow they succeed, we should all be willing to openly and publicly defy and break such a law.

Incidentally, it is becoming clear that the “Flying Imams” flap, with six Moslems calling themselves “Imams” taken off a US Air flight in handcuffs for engaging in overtly terrorist-like conduct, was staged on purpose.

The proximate purpose was to rail about Moslem “humiliation” and to bully folks into being intimidated on future flights.  But the more subversive purpose was to build support for Conyers’ “anti-intolerance” legislation.

Last January in the wake of the Mohammed Cartoon fiasco, I wrote Standing Up to Moslem Bullies.  I concluded:

I am old enough to remember when to take an airplane flight, all you did was get on the plane. Every time I have to take off my shoes at airport security, every time I go through airport security at all, it reminds me of how Moslems are responsible for this hassle and fear.

It’s not just that Moslem men should be profiled at airport security. It’s that Moslems owe the world an apology for the very existence of airport security in the first place. We need to demand that apology, an apology for fatwas and death threats against cartoonists, an apology for their terrorism and medieval fanaticism.

The question we need to ask Moslems is: Until you start showing respect and tolerance for our values, religion, and civilization, why should we show any respect and tolerance for yours?

No major religion on earth is more violent and intolerant than Islam.  Violence and intolerance is hard-wired into the Koran and the words of Mohammed.  Every attempt, every small attempt anywhere and everywhere to make us subservient to Islam should be resisted and denounced.

From now on, more and more, it will be.
