D3 TERRORISTS

Let’s say a young white fellow is caught entering a New York subway station by a watchful policeman, who discovers 50 pounds of high explosives in his backpack. Upon interrogation, the fellow explains he was instructed to blow up the station by the Holy Cheendon, whose voice he hears in his head, because for doing so the Cheendon will send him to Paradise located in the Andromeda Galaxy.

Such a fellow would not be a Moslem crazy, just plain crazy. But what if there is something specifically screwed up in his brain that’s making him crazy – and it is this same something that turns some Moslems into suicidal terrorists?

An answer might lie in research the Mayo Clinic has done with Parkinson’s patients who were given the drug Miraplex to alleviate their shakes. To the medical researchers’ surprise, a small number of their patients (1.5%) became compulsive-obsessive.

Compulsive-obsessive behavior afflicts about this same number in any general population, about 1.5%. It involves compulsive risk-taking, which can take the form addiction to gambling, porn, sex, eating, drugs (especially cocaine, opiates, and amphetamines), or gaining access to 72 heavenly whores by slaughtering infidels.

Neurologically (what goes on in your brain), this behavior is called the compulsive-hedonic response, caused by overstimulation of a certain type of neuron (brain cell) that has D3 receptors. Miraplex, the Parkinson’s drug, turns out to do just that: it is a D3 agonist – it activates these D3 neurons. For most people, this is no problem. But about 1.5% of people have hyper-sensitive D3 receptors.

There are a lot of Moslems. Only a very small number of them become, or are considered candidates to be, suicidal terrorists. Yes, lots of Moslems sympathize with the suicidals, but few of them actually are or might be. Some estimates are about 1.5%. Start to see the connection?

The D in D3 is for dopamine, the neurotransmitter brain chemical responsible for feeling pleasure and reward: the brain’s feel-good/reward juice. Dopamine causes faster firing in the brain’s focal point for experiencing pleasure, the nucleus accumbens (it does the same in the substantia niagra, the brain’s motor control center – thus its lack causes the shakes of Parkinson’s).

For every type of neurotransmitter, there are specific receptor cells into which it fits like a key into a lock. For dopamine, there are receptors D1-5. Defective, hyper-sensitive D3 receptors drive their possessor to desperate compulsive attempts at their stimulation. In addition to cocaine and amphetamine, almost every drug abused by humans has been shown to increase dopamine levels in the nucleus accumbens.

It turns out that a number of anti-psychotic drugs given to patients diagnosed with obsessive compulsion (as well as schizophrenia) are D3 blockers – they de-sensitize the D3 receptors. Which suggest a set of experiments at Gitmo.

The Supreme Court, in Sell v. the United States (June, 2003), has ruled that an anti-psychotic drug may be give to a diagnosed psychotic against his will or without his knowledge if he has demonstrated “criminal commitment.” A Moslem terrorist qualifies. Modern anti-psychotic D3 blockers like clozapine, risperidone , and olanzapine , are tasteless and usually have few noticeable side effects, providing the starting dose is small and slowly increased. They can be unnoticeably mixed with food.

Obsessive-compulsives given D3 blockers become anhedonic — their brains no longer capable of feeling pleasure (until the drug wears off). Thus, within an hour of administration, the terrorist may feel his compulsion to terrorize is gone, that Allah is no longer talking to him or reciting quotes from the Koran in his head. Obsessive ritual behavior, such as the compulsion to pray five times a day, may vanish.

He may feel that Allah has abandoned him, that his life no longer has any meaning and is worthless. A skilled interrogator offering a sympathetic friendly hand at this moment can work wonders with such mental putty.

Terrorists are sociopaths. Like Dennis Rader, the Kansas serial murderer who calls himself BTK for “bind, torture, kill,” they get a rush of excitement and D3 pleasure from inflicting pain. Deny them the capacity to feel this excitement, replace it with anhedonia, help them feel Allah has abandoned them, and interrogatory illumination may pour forth from their joyless mouths.

From Gitmo to Bagram to Diego Garcia to wherever else we have these creatures incarcerated, such illumination may soon be forthcoming.
