LEARNING ISRAEL’S LESSONS

Finally, we’re learning one of Israel’s two best lessons in fighting terrorists. Israel, Sharon in particular, figured out a long time ago, that the enemy wasn’t a phenomenon, it was individuals: terrorists, not “terrorism.” So the solution was to forget about defeating some “ism” and hunt down and kill specific terrorists personally.

The latest example took place this Sunday, September 26, when Israeli agents planted a bomb under the driver’s seat of Izz al-Deen Sheik Khalil’s SUV, and blew the senior Hamas leader up to the Moslem Bordello in the Sky.

Taking this lesson to heart, US forces have begun targeting specific terrorists in Iraq. On September 22, US fighter jets nailed the “grand mufti” or spiritual leader of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi’s Tawid and Jihad terrorists, Omar Youssef Jumah. Using the nom de guerre Abu Annas al-Shami, Jumah was fond of issuing fatwas proclaiming that Allah approved of beheading infidels. No more fatwas for you, Omar. You’re a good terrorist now.

We’re learning at last to give Islamofascists what they want. They say their greatest strength is that they prefer death to life, while our greatest weakness is to love life more than death. If they love death, hey, no problem, happy to oblige.

Now it’s time to learn the second great lesson in national security we can learn from Israel.

The Israeli Security Fence has been an extraordinary success in protecting Israelis from terrorist attacks. Given the assault on our national sovereignty by illegal aliens, an increasing number of whom are radical Moslems and Al Qaeda agents, we must follow Israel’s example and construct an American Security Fence along our border with Mexico.

Not a concrete wall. A sturdy chain link fence with barbed wire on the top, with electronic sensors and radar units, patrolled by Predator drones armed with Hellfire missiles. Anyone spotted cutting through the fence via the Predator’s TV camera is blown away.

It will only take a few such instances to bring a halt to the flood of illegals pouring across our southern border – up to 4,000 a day. It will take only a few of them perishing via a Predator to prevent them dying in droves as they are now of thirst and exposure in border wastelands.

A blindness to the mortal threat of illegal immigration is George Bush’s greatest defect. The conservative movement and Republican activists have put this aside to get him re-elected. But once this is accomplished, it will be put aside no more. The demand for an American Security Fence will be foghorn-loud and unremitting.

An Al Qaeda agent, Adnan el Shukrijumah from Yemen, has made a deal with a Salvadorean crime syndicate called Mara Salvatrucha that runs a major drug-and-aliens smuggling operation from a base in Matamoros, Mexico, and controls street gangs in Los Angeles and other US cities. The deal is to smuggle Al Qaeda terrorists into America, along with components of radioactive dirty bombs.

Attorney-general John Ashcroft is well aware of Mara Salvatrucha, which has, he says, “a foothold in just about every Hispanic community across the US.” Partnering with it “would give Al Qaeda access to any US city with minimal risk of discovery.”

Rather than lifting the smallest finger to prevent this threat, the Mexican government is now demanding totally open US-Mexico borders. A fully unregulated border where Mexicans can cross into America as easily and freely as Americans cross state lines has been publicly advocated by Arturo Gonzalez Cruz, named by Mexican President Vicente Fox as his chief negotiator for border relations.

The Mexican government has issued millions of consular identification cards to illegal aliens in the US, which the US Government Accounting Office (GAO) says provide “a perfect way to establish new identities and ensure that aliens’ names won’t come up on terrorist watch lists or criminal databases.”

Mexico is waging a form of war upon America, and it is about time the President of the United States figures it out. On November 3rd, vast choruses of conservative leaders will become determined to see that he does.
