TERRORISM ON THE ROPES?

At a rally in Albuquerque, New Mexico this week, George Bush assured America: “I know what I’m doing” regarding winning the war against Moslem terrorists in Iraq and threatening our country. Although the Pogo Press is doing its best to prevent voters from figuring it out, GW is right. He is conducting a full court press right now, and rolling the terrorists up in a ball.

Let’s start with Afghanistan. The Taliban is breaking apart. About one-third of the Taliban remnants still fighting in Afghanistan have broken away from Taliban leader Mohammed Omar, who has now lost control of a number of his senior commanders. The pressure of 18,000 American and NATO soldiers relentlessly hunting them down and killing them has precipitated the dissolution of the Taliban.

Then there are all the contract guys across the border in Pakistan. In order to enable “plausible deniability” regarding our public assertion that there are no US soldiers in Pakistan, the Pentagon has contracted with scores of ex-Delta Force, SEALs, and Marine Recon to hunt down Al Qaeda bad guys in their Pak sanctuaries. Al Qaeda no longer has anywhere to run and anywhere to hide.

The intel busts in Pak-land are even more important. Finally, it seems, the CIA and President Musharref have forced the pro-Taliban/Al Qaeda ISI (Pakistan intelligence) to cooperate. The recent capture of two key Al Qaeda operatives in Pakistan, Ahmed Khalfan Ghaliani and Mohammed Naeem Noor Khan, resulted in a treasure trove of computer files identifying Al Qaeda agents and activities.

Noor Khan was then coerced into conducting an undercover sting operation – the first to be arrested was Faris al-Zahrani, Al Qaeda’s leader in Saudi Arabia. There will soon be many more to come throughout the world. It turns out that Al Qaeda’s cell structure is really thin, much smaller and narrower than previously thought. GW’s noose is tightening around Al Qaeda’s neck.

His noose is also tightening around Mookie’s neck – Moqtada al-Sadr, Iran’s boy in Najaf, Iraq. The Marines are taking Mookie’s militia out as you read this. Al Qaeda’s boy in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, is on the run. We are clearly winning in Iraq – bad news for Hanoi John.

The good news continues in Israel, where the leader of the Palestinian terrorist group Al Aqsa Brigades, Zakariya Zubeidi, declared this week that: “The intifada is in its death throes. These are the final stages – this I can confirm.”

Even the Euroweenies are beginning to grasp that they don’t have to be intimidated by Islam any longer. So far, it’s just a few glimmers. An example is Norway, where after being swamped for years by Moslem immigration, the Kristiansand Progress Party is calling for Islam to be as illegal in Norway as Nazism.

“Hitler’s Mein Kampf and Mohammed’s Koran are one and the same,” declares Halvor Hulaas, the party’s chairman. “Islam is protected because it pretends to be a religion. But what would we say if Nazis started worshipping Hitler as a God and claimed similar religious protection? It is high time Norway and Europe make the ideology of Islam illegal and punishable in the same way as Nazism. Just as Hitler said his followers have a moral duty to kill Jews, so Mohammed urged his followers to kill everyone infidel.”

You don’t have to agree with Hulaas to understand that he speaks for increasingly large numbers of Europeans and that an anti-Islam backlash is rapidly growing in Europe.

Then there’s Iran, the original fountainhead of Moslem terrorism. The only question here is when – not if – Iran’s nuclear facilities are taken out, and by whom. It’s a job best done by the Israelis with our assistance, not the other way around. GW and Sharon are asking themselves: Do we have time to wait and take them out before November 2? (If before, the Pogos would explode with outrage over a “manufactured October Surprise.”)

The Ayatollahs have taken lessons from Saddam on how to hide WMD facilities. When even the New York Times runs headlines like “Diplomacy Fails To Slow Advance of Nuclear Arms” (August 7) and predicts Iran will have nuclear missiles capable of hitting Israel in the very near future, you know the hit is coming and coming fast.

The hit will precipitate the collapse and overthrow of the Mullacracy dictatorship in Iran. This regime is viewed with contempt not only by most Iranians but by most Islamic Shiias. Its founder, Ayatollah Khomeini, was a heretic advocating a Wilayet Al-Faqih (rule of the jurisprudent, i.e., mullahs). Separation of mosque and government is an ancient and holy Shia tradition. Secular government is being solidified in Iraq and will be in Iran – and with this, Al Qaeda’s dream of a Moslem Califate ruling the world’s Moslems and taking them back to the 7th century ends.

This does not mean the threat of Moslem Terrorism ends nor the war against it. What it does mean is that – thanks to a man who knows what he is doing – we are winning this war. The principal hope of the terrorists right now is that this man will lose in November. As I said in The Fragility of Terrorism (TTP, April 16, 2004 and currently in Classics), John Kerry is the Great White Hope of Moslem Terrorists. They are praying to Allah for him to win.

But Allah is not listening. He is sick and tired of people being criminally crazy in his name and besmirching all his followers. A lot of those followers feel the same. They, like us, will breathe a sigh of relief when they see that terrorism is on the ropes – and watch a re-elected George Bush deliver the knockout blows.
