HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MR. PRESIDENT

July 4th is Freedom’s Birthday. July 6th is George W. Bush’s – this year his 58th. Take the time on July 6th to give a toast or say a prayer of thankfulness that America is so fortunate to have this extraordinary man as her president in these parlous times.

Bush-hatred among the left has reached levels of true derangement and pathology – particularly so because the left hate George Bush for his virtues. They hate him because he is the moral antithesis of Bill Clinton. They hate him because he has the courage to defend America without apology. They call him a liar because he is not. They call him stupid because they are terrified that he is brilliant.

The reality is that George W. Bush is scary smart – and has cajones the size of Texas. Anything less in the White House and America would be on the fearful defensive against Islamofascist terror. The Moslem Terrorists after September 11 would have kept coming here. We would be continuing to fight them right here in America.

Instead, George Bush took the fight to them. The genius of Bush’s War in Iraq was to get the terrorists to fight us in Iraq, not America.

Liberal hypocrisy could not be more blatant in the condemnation of Bush’s goals. Liberals are forever bleating about curing the “root causes” of societal ills. Bush should thus be a hero to them – for that is precisely what he is doing, curing the root causes of Arab societal ills through democratization. You could not possibly focus on “root causes” more than has George Bush has in moving Iraq – and consequentially all the Arab Middle East – from tyranny to democracy.

Liberals should be toasting George Bush on July 6th in celebration of his achieving their ideal. Instead they will be drowning in their bitterness and bile.

Millions of Iraqis, despite what you hear in the Pogo Press, are toasting George Bush in gratitude. The new Iraqi Ambassador to the US, Rend Rahim encapsulated the genius of our president in a speech this week here in Washington. “Iraqis unfortunately are bearing the brunt of terrorism,” she said, because “Iraq has become terrorism’s last stand. Iraq is where terrorism will be defeated.”

Let that sink in, and let the genius of George Bush sink in with it: Iraq has become terrorism’s last stand. Iraq is where terrorism will be defeated. Not in America, but 6,000 miles away, and liberating 25 million of our fellow human beings from a monstrous dictatorship in the process.

All Americans should give thanks to Providence on July 6th. Happy Birthday, Mr. President.
