FORGET THE TRIAL

The most disastrous news to come out of Iraq this week was the demand by the new Iraqi Interim Government for custody of Saddam Hussein. We are reaping the moldy harvest of the American liberal obsession for legalism. All one had to do is see the farce of Slobodan Milosevic’s trial to know what judicial lunacy awaits a similar tribunal travesty for Saddam.

Yet this is suddenly the least of our worries. Turning Saddam over to the Iraqis means he will escape from custody. Through bribery or blackmail or force, the Iraqis will either let him escape or be unable to prevent it – which means all the treasure and blood America has spilled to liberate Iraq will have been in vain.

The solution is to do to Saddam what should have been done after completing his interrogation: line him up against a wall and shoot him. A war criminal responsible for the most hideous slaughter has no rights. He deserves no trial. He deserves to be shot, period. Unfortunately, Saddam’s public execution sans trial will bring condemnation by the wimps of the world.

So don’t be surprised if Saddam suffers a fatal heart attack this summer. After all, the man has been under a lot of stress lately – and doctors all say the most common symptom of heart disease is sudden death. Must have been that cholesterol-rich diet he pigged out on while dictator.

Probably the best way to facilitate such an infarction would be with an injection of potassium chloride. Any hospital has it, used to slow down a too-rapidly beating heart. An injection of a few hundred milliliters will slow down a heart rate enough to induce fibrillation and death – thus this is what is used for the legal execution of Death Row prisoners. A couple of hours after death, the red blood cell membranes break down and release potassium in the blood stream – so any blood samples in an autopsy will show nothing unusual.

Another way would be via injection of 100mg of rancid arachidonic acid, a natural substance found in beef or rice oil. Leave it exposed to air and sunlight for a while until it turns rancid, then inject it into Saddam’s carotid artery which will induce stroke or a heart artery inducing infarction via massive blood clotting. Arachidonic acid is available at chemical supply houses but there could be a paper trail – which there wouldn’t be with common potassium chloride.

If Nervous US Nellies aren’t up to Saddam’s termination, and the pressure builds to turn him over to the Iraqis, then at the very least he should be fitted with a Primacord Collar. It’s a band of strong steel lined with Primacord on the inside made of PETN explosive, and connected to an electronic blasting cap. A coded radio signal has to be continuously received by the cap or else it detonates. Any attempt to remove the collar or taking Saddam out of range in an escape attempt, and Saddam is instantly decapitated.

As long as Saddam is alive, Baathist thugs will continue their campaign of terror in Iraq in the hope of Saddam’s escape and return to power. To kill their hope, the possibility itself must be killed. Forget the trial. Saddam’s life expectancy may about to be drastically reduced.
